As a giant booknerd who used to live in Portland and could spend times in Powell's, these videos make me so happy but also so homesick and sad at the same time...
The House in the Cerulean Sea is a gorgeous book. Very much the cozy, heart hug vibes I get from your videos! It is so heartwarming and necessary. Enjoy!💓
Oooh I like that you incorporate the folk drawings into the video too!! I noticed all the different little flowers for the different rooms at Powell’s.
Nothing seems more fitting then watching you show at Powell’s, while I I’m boxing up my books for a move. It just feels right. By the way I started to telling my books how much I love them, the way they transport me and connect me to things, smell, look, everything about them. I’m looking very much forward to getting more shelves to display them all. You played a big part in reuniting ✨my passion for reading from your first Powell’s video. Thanks, Hugs Morgan and Happy Early Fur Mom’s Day to you! 💛 🐺
The first one of your videos that I watched was a Powell’s vlog! I was absolutely enchanted and have wanted to go ever since. Thanks for taking us there again and for all your beautiful videos always 💛
i’ve been student teaching online this semester and it’s the hardest thing i’ve ever done. something i’ve come to look forward to is seeing your bright sunny videos on friday mornings! it’s the one extra push of motivation i need to make it through one more week day. anyway, today is my last day!!
My heart goes out to teachers who are having to teach online. That in-person connection to students it a big part of what makes being a teacher so special. I hope that soon you can be with students in-person and that it's not so hard. Thank you for spending friend mornings with me!
This was the perfect way to start my day 💜 I love your Powell's videos because that's how I found your channel, with that beautiful "bookstore vlog on a cozy rainy night". I now NEED to go to Portland and go book-shopping there! A huge hug, Mo, I hope you're doing well and enjoying your books.
The toymakers is my favourite book ever! It’s got everything; magic and fantasy, love, jealously and so much heartbreak I could cry just thinking about it!
These videos just add Powel's to my bucket list over and over and I am so excited you enjoyed Where the Crawdads Sing enough to gift it!! Thank you again for sharing your video's, they make my Friday morning!
Hi queen! A bookstore vlog is ALWAYS a winner in my mind. Journal choosing is hard for me because I want them all! I usually pick ones with a nice nature scene on the front 🥰 I’m super excited for you to read The House in the Cerulean Sea! It’s such a wholesome, feel-good story. I just read it last month and I already want to re-read it! I love that you and your mom are both into reading. I got my mom BACK into reading a couple of years ago and when I still lived close by I would make her read books after I would 🤣 now we just talk about them on the phone! Thanks for yet another fun bookish read. Those are my faves.
Oh my goshh! I got the house in the cerculean sea a few days ago from book depository and gosh i loved the cover so much and i just wanna read it so badly after reading the book i currently am reading! Its so nice to see you also having the book too though it this video was a month ago XD And damn im so jealous of the bookstore, the bookstores here are so small compared to that and all the once you visited in your videos! Anyway i love all the videos of you buying books from bookshops its always so calming and makes me wanna go buy and visit there! But i cant and all the bookshops here are just a few shelves here with the same few books filling up the shelf :( Anyway keep up with the your videos i love them all so much!! ❤
I am also loving Jane Austen and have red all of her books. Also I am loving the movies, especially sense and sensibility with Alan Rickman. I highly recommend it. 💕
The House in The cerulean sea was my favorite book of last year! I'm so glad you're finally reading it, the book is so wholesome and I think you are going to love it.
Your videos are my favorite part of Friday’s. They bring me so much comfort, especially on rainy days like today in the good ole Washington state. 🤍✨ Have a great weekend.
Yessss another great video from my favorite vlogger doing my favorite activity. A combination of Morgan Long and Powell’s Bookstores is sugar, spice, and everything nice ❤️🥺❤️
This video was a much needed moment of peace. Having just wrapped up my college semester, getting to stop and enjoy the views of Powell’s felt like the relaxation I’ve been needing after the craziness of the past month. Thank you for the wonderful video!
Oh my, that mushroom book😍✨ I also have a very similar butterfly book I bought from Powell’s that I adore! So happy we have this magical wonderland so close!💛
I just read The House in the Cerulean Sea a couple of weeks ago and absolutely fell in love with it. It is such a sweet and beautiful story about love and acceptance and finding your family. I hope you'll love it as well.
Thank you for this wonderful bookish vlog. I think bookshops are almost magical places. I just finished „The House in the Cerulean Sea“ and I loved it sooo much. I‘m pretty sure you will like it too. It‘s the second book this year that is an „all-time favourite“ for me; the first one was „The Midnight Library“ by Matt Haig, which I highly recommend.
You are living your best life! Which makes my heart so so happy! This video is another reminder that I need to pick up Where the Crawdads Sing!!! Love ya, friend!
I read the house in the cerulean sea. There wasn't a dull moment in this book, I absolutely loved it, I couldn't stop laughing and smiling while reading this book. I'm so glad you picked this book up!
Oh god, what I wouldn't do to get a chance of visiting Powell's one day 🥺 I'm currently on a book-buying-ban - I have so many to read! So I'm rewatching your Powell's vlogs to get your joy of finding new books ✨😂
Thank you for the lovely visit to Powell's bookstore. I'm looking forward to soon visiting my local bookstore for the first time in long, long time. My daughter-in-law is fascinated with witches and "Waking the Witch" would be a great birthday gift for her. Thanks for the idea!
Your bookstore vlogs are my favourite Morgan 🤩 This one certainly made my week all better since my state is currently under lockdown and I really miss visiting bookstores 🤎 Have a relaxing weekend ahead and stay safe ☘💌
Hi Mo! It was soo surprising that your this week's vlog was at Powell's bookstore 📚. I really enjoyed it 😊👍. Your vlogs as always is cozy and soothing for the mind. 💛
Mo watching this video made me reminisce the video that lead me to your channel, "Powell's Shopping on a Cozy Rainy Night" video. I'm happy that you can splurge a bit on something you genuinely love: books.
I’ve been watching so many book shopping videos the last few days and was SO happy to see you posted one! My comfort RUclips video is your first Powell’s vlog! Also, you’re going to LOVE the house and the cerulean sea!!!!
I'm so happy that Powell's is back open, I have missed them so much. I went last Sunday and went a bit overboard with books. But I regret nothing because most of them were for my collections that I wanted physical copies for anyways.
I have already started the "House in the Cerulean Sea" and I cannot put it down! I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it. Have a wonderful weekend 💕
Have you been to Daedalus Books in NW? Or Wallace Books or Mother Foucault’s on the east side? They’re all open as far as I know. And I will rejoice once Annie Bloom’s is open to browse again and we can see Molly!
I would choose that Hilma af Klint journal.✨ The arts encyclopedia looks amazing, almost my entire degree in one book :'D Thank you for this cozy video!!
I loved going along with you to Powells while I drank my tea. I had to share with you my book finds from a thrift store yesterday! A rose in bloom by Louisa m. Alcott from the 1800s! As well as a falling apart treasure of hers with several of her works enclosed. I paid 2.25 each!! Can you see me jumping for joy? Ahhh books and tea!!
Love your selections for the moms in your life! Mansfield Park is my all time favorite Austen book. It touches on many important topics we still deal with today. Jane was woke, I love her so much. So glad you have a gorgeous copy now 🍂
AH YES, I completely agree about Jane!! She was just so familiar with human characteristics and had the most wonderful way of making fools of the most ridiculous or despicable characters.
Mansfeild park! What a fabululous read, definitely one of austens most interesting novels. Some history behind the setting of mansfeild park in case you were intrigued by the books cosy demeanour. Mansfeild park is based off of a real place in a sleepy village in the county of Northamptonshire in the English countryside. I hope you found this dose of very random masnfeild knowledge interesting. I loved the video morgan, gorgeous as always, powells seems very worth a visit, and the amount of book recommendations you’ve given us all is sure to more than fill up our TBR list 📚 l also must mentiom that i love your skirt! Happy reading friends! :) 📖🕯
Loved this!! Love watching book hauls. I admire your courage just to set up your camera and tripod and go for it! Although at one point it appeared you were filming across the road from Powell's and I have no idea how you did that?! I'm always scared to film anything in shops in case I get told off haha. I love how they have the second hand as well as the new books together, that's genius. I would love to visit one day!
Dear Morgan, I’m a little late for this one but I just wanted to make sure that it was the perfect time to sit, cozy up and watch you pick up some books! Turns out, Saturday mornings with you are just as marvelous as Friday afternoons
Dear Laris, I'm SO glad you got to spend time in bookshops-- it seems like you really made the most of it too! It's so crazy, I just found out that a good friend that I've spent a fair amount of time with is Colin Meloy's (the author of Wildwood) MOM. She's a grandmother friend to me, and this whole time I had no idea who her son is!! Thank you for the book recommendation-- I've added it to my list. I love imagining you and your mom with the plants 🌿 The pink room song is called "Edo" Dawn, Sounds of Nou-Wer Big hugs!! Love, Morgan
Dear@@MorganLong , Oh my gosh!!! Being friends with Meloy’s mom sounds like the most fun coincidence ever. The world really is small haha hope someday we’ll meet too! And thank you for answering me the name of the song!
I also love a good puzzle! Powells is such a magnificent place, I love that they have new copies, used copies and occasionally even signed copies! The books you picked up are beautiful and I can't wait to see your butterfly illustrations :)
Ok. Powell's is now on my travel list 🌎✈ it looks so magical! Thank you for this little trip in town with you. The stores are closed here because of covid..so it was good going out with you! Have a nice weekend 🌞🤓
I‘m so happy for you, finding all those wonderful treasures! 🦋 Thank you for taking us with you on your bookhunt. 📚⭐️ Maybe you could one day make a video about a second hand shopping trip? Books, clothes etc. 😊
That notebook selection would be heaven for me, having a notebook obsession as I do. Powell's reminds me so much of Chamberlins in Florida, which I miss so much since I moved to Arkansas, it just makes me want to go back and get lost in all the books again.
Hello friend . . one of my favorite videos is going to Powell's w/you I'm sure I can spend all day just browsing and than deciding what books to get lol . . I love the journal/card sections yes deciding which journal to select . . great book selections you made . . have a beautiful wonderous awesome weekend my friend happy book reading ❤🙋♀️🌻🌈🦋🌷🤸♂️😎🚴♀️
Loved the video Morgan. My community is going through a bad Covid outbreak right now, so I just came back from testing.. it's cold and miserable outside... I made myself a nice hot cup of coffee and sat down and watched your video. It was the perfect way to relax on this Saturday morning while I'm in lockdown this weekend. Thank you for always making such enjoyable, comforting videos.
I'm so sorry to hear about the new outbreak. Portland just got out of another strict lockdown and it was so disheartening. I hope that soon things are better and warmer there. I'm happy my video helped cheer things up a bit. Cheers & hugs, friend
Loved this one! Ps. There is always Sanditon by Jane Austen :) it was the novel she was working on before she died (she wrote eleven chapters and was finished by an Austen enthusiast) and BBC developed it into a show, too!
Oh I wish your videos never end , I thought there is more but there would be more nxt time , I really enjoyed going shopping with you , your collections of books are so good especially the book art its cover of stary night is amazing , happy mother's day to all mothers in the world, see you nxt time my wondrous friend I love you
I LOVE the song you chose for the ride to Powell's. You've used it before and it always makes me smile. 😁 Book shopping is my favorite thing to do when I'm away from hubby and kids. In fact, it was my Mother's Day wish. #bookworm #readingisdope lol
I love this! Also, if your mom likes murder mysteries with strong female detectives, I bet she would really like A Darker Domain by Val McDermid :) It’s about a detective who cracks cold cases, and I really enjoyed it!
That copy of Mansfield Park is the same edition as I bought of Pride and Prejudice when I was about 13, devoured it over 2 days in summer, fell in love with Mr Darcy and never looked back. Thank you for your peaceful vlog and for reminding me of happy memories. Also, I would love to visit Powell’s xxx
Love your bookstore vlogs! Thank you for making my day every time you post a new video 😊 (btw, I wasn’t sure how to pronounce Cerulean either and according to google it’s with an s sound 😊)

Second pronunciation of cerulean was correct! With a soft, "c," sound!
Whenever my partner and I visit Portland, Powell’s is a MUST visit 🥰
Absolutely!!! Let me know when you plan on coming!
Waking the witch is a fabulous reference book! You’re gonna enjoy it Morgan!!
These books all looks so fun and interesting 😍 I feel so inspired to start a new book today! Sending cozy book vibes ❤️📖
Happy reading, friend!

If you find the concept of The Toymaker to be amazing I'd recommend The Dollmaker of Krakow! It's a beautiful book and made me cry.
Hi! Just want to say that the way you filming is so heart warming! I really enjoyed it.
Love you!

I would choose that Hilma af Klint journal.✨
The arts encyclopedia looks amazing, almost my entire degree in one book :'D
Thank you for this cozy video!!
You are so, so pretty and your voice is so soothing and calming to listen to! I love it! 🥰
Cerulean is pronounced with the S-sound. (and that book is so so lovely!)

That notebook selection would be heaven for me, having a notebook obsession as I do. Powell's reminds me so much of Chamberlins in Florida, which I miss so much since I moved to Arkansas, it just makes me want to go back and get lost in all the books again.
I dream of someday visiting this store! So thank you for the tour. Here in a remote part of North Dakota, there is nothing like this.

Yay! Morgan took us to Powell's today! The House in the Cerulean Sea was such a heart hug of a read. Enjoy.

I LOVE the song you chose for the ride to Powell's. You've used it before and it always makes me smile. 😁 Book shopping is my favorite thing to do when I'm away from hubby and kids. In fact, it was my Mother's Day wish. #bookworm #readingisdope lol
Always so beautiful watching you wander through Powell’s! Thank you for such a beautiful video ☺️💛
I LOVE POWELLS!!! there is none where i live but when i go to visit my family in oregon i go
I love this! Also, if your mom likes murder mysteries with strong female detectives, I bet she would really like A Darker Domain by Val McDermid :) It’s about a detective who cracks cold cases, and I really enjoyed it!
I love watching your videos! They are so relaxing. Powell’s looks like a book lover’s dream! I hope I get to go there someday ❤️
I hope so too, friend ❤️
I like the journal from the bottom shelf in the right corner. 😄
Great book (and puzzle) haul Morgan! Hope you enjoy your weekend.
Thank you, Daye! Happy weekend!
I have never been to the USA und don't know if I will ever be. But Powell's Books store is now on my wishlist! ❤️
I’ve commented this before, but ever since I moved away from Powell’s I love watching your videos of going there! I hope I can visit it soon.
Ahh the last video I watch was your recent Powell's bookstore reading vlog, and now there's another! i'm so happy
Love your bookstore vlogs! Thank you for making my day every time you post a new video 😊 (btw, I wasn’t sure how to pronounce Cerulean either and according to google it’s with an s sound 😊)
I'd love to get there at some point - right up the coast from my home. We have Chevaliers. :). xoxo
