    27 years old is still so, so young! Toni Morrison debuted at 39, Mark Twain at 41, Annie Proulx at 57... the list goes on. Today's world convincing us that people peak in their 20's is such a sham. Especially in the field of writing, which is such a slow, longterm activity and/or process - on so many levels. Point is: you're doing great!

    • @annikania2682
      @annikania2682 Год назад +9

      I think finding meaning can be really hard, because the question is, if something is meant to fully financially support you, or if it is meant to be a true non-monetized hobby, or inbetween. I can only truly enjoy my hobbies if I know I am just making them for me, to feel happy and to create something that does something for me! Meaning is such a weird concept!

      @Annikania I guess when you embrace your passions, you discover an outlet for the sides of you that aren't stimulated at your day job. It's funny you say meaning is a 'weird' concept because meaning is what you give to something, not what something gives to you

    Very nice to see Britt and Sabine again, and that lunch! mein gott, it looked so good. But most of all I was so stunned to see the actual typewriter I used in high school to learn the keyboard [haha I'm so funny]. Thx, Leonie, enjoyed.

    That was so cool at the end with the singing mail carrier. My father was a mail carrier here in the US. I don't think he ever sang at work, however. I think I want to read "The Cat Who Saved Books". I have enjoyed other cat books by Japanese writers, such as "The Guest Cat" and "The Travelling Cat Chronicles".

    Amsterdam looks beautiful! Thank you for sharing your trip. The book I'm most looking forward to this month is Rebecca by Daphne DuMaurier. It's been on my shelf for so long and I'm finally prioritizing it. Happy reading!

    Ah this is so cool to see! I went to Amsterdam on a solely bookish trip (I live in Aachen, Germany, so pretty near) and I also went to those two major English bookstores! They are amazing!

    I just read The Bell Jar for the first time after having it on my “to read” list for YEARS and it was a very good read. Kind of eerie at some points because we know Sylvia’s fate. The story has definitely stuck with me.

    i was in amsterdam for a few weeks in november and when i say i was strutting down kalverstraat on my merry way to waterstones and abc nearly everyday im not kidding ! theres just not as many to choose from in the bookstores here in athens so i was in heaven. I also really liked a small bookstore called evenaar which despite being mainly travel centered had some really nice fiction options on top of excellent vibes and putumayo CDS!!! Thank you for this cozy vlog i can use to relive it hehe

    I drifted off of a bit and came back when you said you were gonna read one letter a day. And I figured it would be one letter such as 'a', then next day 't'. Thought well that's gonna take a while

    The Bell Jar is also on my list, and I've also got a copy of it. Guess I would save it for summer, since there are too many on the spring reading list already, and it does fit the estival mood very well.
