fun fact, thom yorke had to crack his skull open and lay in an animated flowing desert to get this shot. he did it first try. what a legend
Seeing Thom Yorke's cracked skull pop out, singing at me, is probably one of the creepiest things I've seen this year. O___o Good job!
Stinky.
Anthony my friend, please review Carrie and Lowell (2015) once more but this time when you listen to it don't be a dummy head. Respectfully, The Coochie Crushers

Thom Yorke is the answer to "what would they be doing now?" For instance, John Lennon, Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, etc. Him and only a few others survived the 90's. And most of my favorite musicians are dead. So stay alive Thom. And keep making great music so I don't have to ask, "I wonder what kind of music Thom Yorke or Radiohead would be playing today."
Nicely said!
Exactly
bones22j Yup a future legend in his prime right now creating.
bones22j Muy bien dicho
bones22j Great comment , i agree 100%... I felt the same but you should hear Mac Demarco... there's something there ! ;)
Thom Yorke is an abyss of talent and creativity. Just when I think I know everything he's done, I find more. It's unbelievable.
So true 👌💯
The man is an “abyss”?
It is interesting that you said abyss... Because Radiohead's and Thoms music can be either very inspiring or depressing depending on where your life and psyche is at... I love Radiohead, and to find out that my favorite musician, Neil Young was a huge influence on them makes total sense and respect them more because Neil is a god... We are all divine beings if we stay free of soul death that the systems of greed in society try to enforce upon us... But I used to think that melancholy music like Thom's is a bad thing because it can be like an abyss of wallowing in despair rather than seeing how much amazing wondrous possibilities there are all around us... When I heard "The Numbers" by Thom and Johnny outside in beautiful refreshing nature I knew that that was my new favorite song from them "The system is a lie, ONLY PEOPLE HAVE THE POWER..." like when I found the message of John Taylor Gatto! Never stop feeling fascination for learning...
A deep space, gulf or cavity of talent? I agree he is talented and creative, but perhaps not an abyss.
This video is wildly creative, but unfortunately the song itself is just another meandering, wailing vanity project for Thom. Thom wrote some truly mesmerizing songs in his early career, but that hasn't been repeated in a long time now. Nowadays Thom seems to think it's enough to close his eyes and moan along with a techno beat and call that creativity
The man is an absolute genius.

A band with Thom Yorke on vocals and Flea on the bass?! I couldn't believe how interesting the combo let alone the actual music sounded. I'm in love with this band now.
Do not forget Nigel Godrich :)
@@izquemia Nigel never gets enough credit Radiohead wouldn't be what they are without him.
Don't forget Mauro Refosco! 🇧🇷❤️

Remember the line "A ten ton head made of wet sand
on this dread circumference" from Decks Dark? Now I'm pretty sure it references this song.
I met a traveller from an antique land,
Who said "two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert, near them on the sand
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies whose frown
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamp'd on these lifeless things
Of the hand that mocked them and the heart that fed.
And on the pedestal these words appear
'My name is Thom Yorke King of Limbs
Look on my works ye mighty and despair!"
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of RUclips videos boundless and bare
My lone and level hand keeps pressing 'Play'.

Fun fact: In order to get that jittery, stop-motion effect on Thom he had to sing this song SLOWED DOWN half-speed (12 minutes) & then the footage got sped up to the song's length.

im slowly coming to the conclusion that his ex wife was fucked up.
His voice is so lovely.
Erline Andrews I agree.
"His voice is so haunting" FTFY
I’ve been looking for this song for a freaking 4 YEARS!!!!
If this doesn't move you, there's nothing left.
This is the reason for human existence...
telosico!!!
The more I listen to this track the better it gets. And the video is just a perfect match.
haiii
Welcome to Radiohead.
Agree
this video is amazing. this song cuts deep. I sit alone in solitude, vicariously living my life through the screen, watching the journalists document the world destroying itself. And watching this world pass me by as if I'm the statue.
This sounds like it was made in 2020, not 2016.
@@zynel413 he predicted that
@@zynel413 it was actually recorded between 2010-2012 (like the whole of the AMOK album) and released in February 2013.
This RUclips channel just uploaded or re-uploaded the song 7 years ago....
@@NoRUclipsName1 idk why I said 2016 tbh like I knew when the album was released as welll
@@zynel413 I think you were referring to the comment, possibly? But it feels weird to assume what you meant for you.
Thom Yorke is that person who has made music for so much time that has transcended to another level of making music...
Love how Stanley Donwood's artwork for "Amok" comes alive in motions in the music video!
Any and every project he's attached to is magic. His voice is vibrational alignment. True genius, just flows out of him at every turn. Such a gift to humanity.
Nothing else gives me the same feeling this does. Astonishing beauty.
2:20 pure gold.
Thom York and Radiohead have brought so much sublimity to my life. Thank you.
Every frame of this video is a fucking visual masterpiece. Try it. Pause it at any time and see it before your very eyes.
Assuming this was recorded at 25fps, you are consuming approximately 8,700 pieces of art, and of course an amazing song, everything in under 6 minutes.
It's so dense... Every single image has so many things going on.
+Ab Sáyago well its computer generated, but incredibly so
it's like poetry, they rhyme
Have only just come across this but Thom Yorke's vocal's are so distinctive, as is Flea's sound, made perfect sense when I discovered this is the them. The lyrics are just truth.
Perfect for what’s happening in the world right now. Before your very eyes.
Best vocals ever by Thom Yorke in this album "Amok"... so many beautiful melodies and that perfect and deep falsetto
I want the world to realise we can live with out what we think we need.
Dear god, this is heavenly.
Perfect music video for this track.
Goddammit! Every time I see your channel photo in comment section I think it's Javier Bardem from No Country For Old Men....
why are always you the top comment in radiohead music videos?
Bots.
Hi, again, i cant say that i didnt expect you here.
That moment where creation and destruction are the same thing.
when I first heard this song I first thought they outdid Thom, them I found out this is Thom singing this master piece.
In case anyone doesn't know the origin of the band name, I just thought this was interesting: "In 1953 President Eisenhower proposed his 'Atoms for Peace' program, which reoriented significant research effort towards electricity generation and set the course for civil nuclear energy development in the USA." It was essentially an attempt to direct nuclear physics research toward generating power instead of building bombs.
thanks! very interesting

I love Thom's voice
Hands down best song on the album...
I watched this almost 9 years after it was uploaded and it still looks cutting edge
A true “peace” of art! Here and now, through the soul and back!
Both music and visuals are amazing!
His voice cuts through my soul like a knife
This is the best music video ever made. Understated. Classic TY. They will look at this in a 100 years and ask who this man was.
Beautiful, glad i stumbled across this
Ночь. Сижу откинувшись в машине(никуда ехать не надо!) с бутылочкой пива. Закрыл глаза. И полетел, окунулся во времена, растворился в пространстве!!!
Том гениален! Фли офигенный! Классный проект!!!
Hi
This music calms me down when I'm upset😌
reminds me of the effects of certain stimulants and / antidepressants on some brains .
Sonically the most perfect song I've ever heard
I like the imagery of the buildings and highways rising then falling into the dust. Nothing can last forever, everything has to end, a concept that still continues to fill me with dread
its always the same story with radio head and now atoms for peace, with me
first listen - what is this garbage ?
second listen - alright not terrible, but not anywhere close to their good stuff
third listen - this song is sick
fourth listen - this one is going into my all time top 50 radiohead songs
The last two Radiohead albums have been like that for me. Can't wait to hear the new album!
My taste must be on point, cos I always like their stuff on first listen.
lmfao
Totally agree! This whole album was like that for me. Except for Ingenue. I liked that one on first listen.
I think a lot of great music worth listening to doesn't (and maybe shouldn't) appeal to the ears on the first listen. You have to marinate on it awhile.
You have completely mimiced my mindset
This album gets better with time..it is a masterpiece now , the eraser is double masterpiece
But the Eraser....
"Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock."
Words can't express how pissed I am that radiohead isn't listened to more. Give people 50 more years to realize
2 years before this was born, my friend Alex dreamed about this. He told me every detail of this video, but I didn’t understand the message.
He promised he would find a way to explain, and 8 months before this was produced, he passed away. Watching it now, I understand so perfectly, what he wasn’t able to put into words then. He had to show me.
I haven’t missed the message this time;
We won’t be left in suspense for another eternity..
Based fake dead friend
such beautiful melancholy..

Probably best vocals ever recorded by Thom Yorke
Thom Yorke, aphex, and squarepusher are the ones that keep me up always..
Maybe this video be about change that happens in your life, and then as you get older so does the world around you, and as you die your world crumbles away into the earth, and remains as a piece of the past. I don't know, just my thoughts. Oh and I love Thom Yorke and Flea, a couple of my favorite musicians, they created an amazing album!
this masterpiece takes me by the hand and sends me to the particular fragments of timeline... what a companion.
Its been a while since a video has completely blown my mind away. Such a perfection combination of imagination, concept, story, song, visuals and effects!
I want to meet or work with people who make this :D
Haleem ul Hassan reminds me of Sphongle visually. DMT music

The video seems very fitting. Mysterious and vague but also really well done and beautiful.

Seems like a weird dream to me. Not only does this song have a great melody, great beat too.
I had been stuck on Weird Fishes/Arpeggi for weeks and I couldn't find something that can satiate the dissatisfaction that welled up (WF is such a good track and something's kinda blocked me after listening it too much. It's good but you don't feel satisfied). Then I found this, BAM!. This is the key. The open flow.

One day i hope we get a piano version of this song. Thom's falsetto chorus will sound amazing in a clean piano version. It will be like the piano version of Ingenue.

Humanity is not ready for radiohead yet 😢
this is the greatest music video I have ever seen. This has completely reaffirmed my absolutely blind faith in Thom Yorke, and more importantly, reaffirmed my confidence that the next record that Radiohead puts out will be absolutely fucking fantastic.
