  • POV Test ride and Review of the 2016 Harley Davidson Sportster Iron 883. I ride the bike through the city and give my impressions on how it rides. I am not paid by any of these companies for these reviews so they are 100% honest and unbiased.
    Check out my other cruiser/motorcycle reviews on my channel. Filmed with the GoPro Hero 3+ Black in 1080p 30fps Superview.
    From Harley Davidson's website: "Air-cooled and durable as hell, the 883cc Evolution® engine is yet another nod to the unwavering work ethic that drives advancements in motor technology at Harley-Davidson. Aluminum heads and cylinders lighten the load of the bike and improve air-cooling efficiency. Electronic fuel injection says goodbye to carburetors and boasts increased reliability and less routine maintenance. Bottom line: the rubber-mounted Evolution® engine runs hard and rides smooth for thousands of miles so you can just worry about taking in the freedom of the boulevards and back streets."

    Love my Yamaha Bolt, but I do like these 883s for what you can do with them. Being able to get the 1200 conversion kit makes it one heck of a bike to grow with.

    I gave a thumbs-up because you are on the model I like the most. I like everything about most Sportster models except I HAVE TO HAVE separate tach & speedo. I love that the turn signal switches are "left on left", "right on right", solely because if one malfunctions it does not take out both. Thank You for taking us along for the ride.

    I live just 3 miles away from my job in the desert. I think this would be the perfect short commute bike for work and around my small town. The 883 piglet is all I need to get to market.

    My 99 Sportster with the 1200 Screamin Eagle kit is super powerful. More torque and HP than factory 1200's. These aren't made to be the greatest bikes so I like how you give your pros and cons on these bikes. You have some negative but more positive. If you rode mine, you'd like it more than this bike. Mine has 86 lb. torque (I believe). Great bikes.

    I never rode one (motorcycle) ever. I always dreamed of riding a steel horse. I'm very interested in purchasing one and think this may be the bike for me. I love the way it looks. From all the reviews and research I think it would be an awesome first bike for me. I just have to learn to ride and get my license and all that. I live in Wisconsin and there are a lot of riders here. I'm thinking of buying a new this 2016 iron 883!

I'm getting the 2016 HD Iron 883 Olive Gold with V&H short stack exhaust, V&H Grenade Air Intake, 1200 conversation Kit, and a tuner. I'm beyond excited!!!

    Hey man, OK this is an old video but I am a new rider (post mid life crisis). I bought a Honda Shadow 750 last year and enjoyed the piss out of it Tho, I live about 1.5 hr from a major city and the side road ride there was L-O-N-G-... Would like to take the hwy there. My 750 is okay @ 65 MPH but I would like to have some power left, if needed when I cruise to the big city. I see a iron 883 for sale and am debating on trading.. Any suggestions from ANYONE would be appreciated and thanks for this video!

    • @Austin48HD
      @Austin48HD 8 лет назад

      +Justin K That's not too bad, but I'd suggest saving up a bit more and going with a 06 and up Sportster as they have fuel injection. I had my heart set on an '03 but rode an '08 and knew from that point on I wanted fuel injection on a Sportster. I ended up buying that '08 Sportster and I've loved every moment of owning it. Also a 1200 is the way to go, you get all kinds of high and low torque as compared to the 883 that only really shines at low rpms.

    Got the exact one - funny how you use the keys in the front steering to start the bike? My 2016 is fob operated so no keys needed. Agree with your comments this is my first bike and a weekend but if fun ! Upgrading to a stage 1 to gain more bhp and a better sound.

    • @arch417powersports

      +Hard Gainer Benny (Benny) It may just be the demo models that use the key, not sure. That is awesome though! They sound amazing with pipes.

      +archinuk417 i had a 2015 iron 883 (that was totaled)... I'm pretty sure the physical key is just used to lock and unlock forks. The FOB is what allows you to start the bike. Just a heads up to those who purchase, change your FOB id as soon as you purchase it. The dealer can help you but it is pretty easy. Like an ATM code.

    I rode a 150cc scooter on daily basis from my office to my house (I'm a dentist) for around 6 months and I got the experience of being driving on main avenues and small streets from small neighborhoods. The things is that I learned how to ride on my dad's Suzuki Boulevard 1500cc. I never exploited that engine's full capacity tho. But now I want a real bike for my own, to do some cruising and maybe grab it when I don't feel like driving my car, so I really like the 883, but IDK if based on what bike I learned how to ride, should I get a bigger engine. What recommendation would you give to me?

    • @treehorse7
      @treehorse7 7 лет назад

      i was pretty close to you also. my first 2 wheel experience was a 50cc moped during high school about 3 years ago. then i learned how to ride my friends yamaha yzf600(crotch rocket). but the first bike i owned was a 95 suzuki savage 650cc and then i got this bike and its a great bike. handles well in town and if you ever get underwelmed with the engine power they have aftermarket conversion kits to take it from 883cc to 1200cc

    I'm looking to start out with either the 883 or the Forty Eight. I'm about to take a class to get my license and want to know which one you think would be best suited for a beginner looking to keep it around for years to come.

    • @arch417powersports
      @arch417powersports  8 лет назад

      I think the 883 would be a good bike for years. yearsi know people who own and ride them for years before upgrading. Plus it sounds incredible with a good exhaust.

    You said there is no RPM reader on the bike, i believe there is. On the Digital screen you have trips and such and a mode that is a digital RPM reader its not has good as a analogic reader but it refreshes fairly quickly. The model i have and the newer models i tried have.
    CORRECTION after 2 seconds you see it xDDD

    Can someone please explain to me what abs does? Thanks and sorry I'm a motorcycle virgin

    • @efrenosnaya7902
      @efrenosnaya7902 8 лет назад

      ABS stands for Anti Blocking System, which means that when you break on a ABS equipped vehicle, the wheels don't stop right away because breaks, well, they do some sort of "clapping". This prevents vehicle from drifting or losing control

    • @michaelalejandro6056
      @michaelalejandro6056 8 лет назад

      Efren Osnaya thank you for explaining

    • @LynksysV
      @LynksysV 8 лет назад +5

      ABS is anti-lock braking system. So if you were to pull the brakes all the way in like a panic situation, instead of locking the wheel and sliding, the brakes throttle itself so there's no sliding. Cars and motorcycles with abs stop in a shorter distance than those without it.

    • @michaelalejandro6056
      @michaelalejandro6056 8 лет назад

      LynksysV thanks so much now I understand

    • @imablacksmith
      @imablacksmith 8 лет назад

      ABS will stop an unskilled rider in shorter distance, still in no way compares with a skilled rider's controlled braking, and in no way improves the world's poorest handling and braking motorcycle!

    • @hector-lee-taylor

      Because that is where all the street crap goes like nails, screws, glass, rocks, whatever. Also that is where any water will be and the drain grills. It is also not flat. Finally, if your tire is near the curb, you can't maneuver to avoid stuff or people. If you can't figure any of this out on your own, you should not ride.
