Just got a used 2016 883 w 500 miles for 5k. Need to send it over to mechanic to get it serviced and get the rear brake lever fixed. It’s been sitting outside w a cover on but the lever didn’t spring back up. I hope it’s an easy fix

Shouldn’t be to bad. Luckily since they have been around forever the Sportster’s parts are cheaper. And upgrading to your taste is fun and. Of to bad in comparison to most bikes. Congratulations! You will love it

Would you recommend the sportster for daily highway commuting? Wind deflection, vibrations, comfort, etc... I kinda over going fast but the sportster always looked so good, what holds me back is that I kinda doubt it makes for a good commuter bike but I like your setup. I'm also 5"4'

Yeah you can’t beat how much you can customize a sportster and for the value it can be anything and everything you need to be right now. I use it as a daily commuter, working nine days a pay period. Now that I’m older in my 30s I definitely feel the rear shocks and would highly recommend changing them if you’re going to use it as a daily driver Along with that fairing that I got on it now is great. it’s not as big as I would like it to be definitely helps a lot with the wind and I don’t feel like I have to hold on tight when I’m going highway speeds so I’d recommend at least the quarter fairing. Honestly, that’s all you would need is at least a quarter fairing upgraded shocks in the rear and a more comfortable seat with a little step up in the back for some type of backrest.
