i got my iron 2 years ago after few mods like 1200 cc ,wind shield mustang seat ,suspension and more i am in love with it .i have plans to get a bigger bike in the future but i will never get rid of my iron .best looking bike by harley
Great video... it really push me to get my Iron 883. I am 63 years old but young at heart. The only problem is that I decided to move down to Panama and the asking price is $11,700.00. for 2017 model, which I consider a bit high compared to 9k in the US. I am still thinking in getting it anyway since it's something I always wanted.
Im planning to buy one October/November this year. First bike, sadly in Uruguay it's 19.900 US dollars... with stock abs brakes. Still worth it!!! Can't count the days to own it and go free riding through the highway. Great review!
Thanks for the upload. Mine is coming in ,in a couple weeks and Im just starting out riding. I am worried I'm too big for this bike. I wanted a FatBob but could only afford the 883. I'm 6'3" 310..... i might break it. After watching this i feel a bit better about it. I'm super excited bro.
Congrats man ! The 883 is a great overall bike. The Evo Engine is simple and reliable. A motovlogger you might like is Shawn Smoak. He also has a 883. As usual he loves it. Check him out. Take care and ride safe.
883, a great bike! I'd need to change the gauges and get a tach and fuel gauge on it! That whimpy 3.3 gal fuel tank would need to increase its size to a 4.5/5 gallon size. The seat and handle-bars need to be replaced without question. Like it tremendously! Doug🏍️👍🤓
Question. What did HD hit you with for the OTD price, if I may ask? I am so torn between this bike and the Scout Sixty. Mainly b/c they're in my 'cruiser' price range. I'm not a newb so... Of course, this IS a Harley and I really liked the ride during 2 different Demo days. Foot Peg position sucks for me, but can be fixed. I haven't ridden a Scout Sixty yet. Anyway, the thought of spending +10K on an $8900 bike just chaps my ass. I know, alternative would be used. Which I'm considering if i go the 883 route. Many thanks. Dug the vid.
I did not go with the wife on the purchase she paid the asking price OTD for 8900 but if your looking to make payments i would not go higher than 6% interest on the 883 and DO NOT get the extended warranty it should help alot with your payments. As for the Scout I am not a fan of the Indians body style, or ride so I would choose the 883 everyday
I was told today that 2017 and beyond only had specific exhausts due to EPA restrictions and that you could only buy ones with Cat's built in and HD told me straight up they were to expensive for this bike just to add sound. What's your opinion?
it depends what state your in for one they all have different regulations. as far as sound theese bikes are held back by the stock exhaust it cant breathe as good the 1st ride you take with a new exhaust and you will understand plus the louder exhaust has already saved my but on a few occasions with people on cell phones distracted driving constantly they dont notice us until i rev the bike and they hear me.
I have never ridden the scout only watched reviews from what ive seen the handling is about the only real difference with the scout being abit worse on handling
Is 37 too old to learn to ride and get into this as a lifestyle? For monetary reasons I couldn't get into it sooner but now I'm concerned that the age which is best to acquire experience and riding as "second nature" has passed. :/
i didnt ride anything since a teenager until.... well lets just say much later in life but its never too late and once your on it everything changes age is not a matter trust me you wont regret it

I hope you enjoy it, I would suggest getting the forward controls they make a huge difference for a taller rider

"It's just a fun little bike man!"
Thanks man. Much appreciated. Just came from the dealer. $10178 OTD. Mehhh!
Gratz man
why 10g what else did u get on the bike?
Price of bike, plus tax tag licensing. They are adding slip on exhaust and mounting forward pegs and controls.
James N you finance or buy it flat out?

Does it ride two people well? And what size more or less are the people?
not a good 2 up bike to be honest id upgrade to a much bigger bike
I know you're a harley guy but any thoughts of the scout sixty over the iron?
I have never ridden the scout only watched reviews from what ive seen the handling is about the only real difference with the scout being abit worse on handling
all my buddies have harleys i been wantes 1 this iron 883 good for basic rider. must my friends have road kinds lol
What bike do you ride again. . Like you told us 257 times. .
A heritage wasnt it 😁
I want to learn to ride a motorcycle. I have zero experience. Do you have any recommendations on how or where to learn? Thank you
visit your local shop they all have a riding course you can take that would be the 1st step
get your riding license in certain states you need a bike license to ride
which seat do u recommend for iron n wer can i get it from ? i ride an 2016 iron 883
check out the Mustang brand vintage solo seat its great i have the same 1 only a bit larger on my Heritage
What's the redline on the 883
6000rpm
do have to lean in for the handle bars?
no as much as i thought i would i don't lean at all
Dont get why ABS isnt standard in the US...
im with you on that one
goodfella21f Im going to get this bike :) but here in Europe its law on ABS, so its standard!
ABS = no fun, fuck that unnecessary nonsense.
So they can charge us more for the upgrade I wish they were standard
That Bearded Guy 420 yeah, security should not be extra. You dont pay extra for the seatbelt in your car...
I got a '17 Iron at the beginning of the month and spent about 6 grand to make it how I want. That Harley tax will get ya.
yes indeed hope you enjoy it brother
I'm a bigger guy 6`4 could I ride this bike?
I would recommend something bigger
Is this in Minnesota?
Ohio
Is there a fuel gauge on it?
no unfortunatley

I just took the MSF test today with a 71 old guy in my class,so.
good luck in your riding adventures
how many gears does it have
5
correct its a 5
Evil Knievel would write it
The first 1000 miles from Ike to beat it to hell
I want to start driving Harley's but I don't even know how to ride a bicycle :/
never too late to learn
What about safety? Jacket and gloves... Dress for the slide, not for the ride
I 100% agree I just don't do it
hermosa moto, pero muy lenta.
i look under my left arm n can see a lot better
Obviously can't compare to my heritage.
*spends the whole video comparing it to the heritage*
