Lily’s adoption is addressed in the series. Mitchell is her father. Cam is not listed on her adoption paperwork. That’s how they got around same-sex adoption. I don’t think an oversight by the writers
I love the irony of Nolan being arguably the most intelligent cast member, including being a member of MENSA, yet he portrays Luke, easily the most dim witted family member.
6:03 I'm happy the twins' parents listened to their kids and discontinued their acting careers. Let them live the lives that they choose, not lives that are imposed on them. Good for them!
As a Guatemalan women who was adopted by two men and brought to America in 2006. I think Lily's adopted would happen like this, one of them adopts her while one pretends to be a close family member (my parents were cousins) they go to pick her up get something called a purple slipped signed, come back home and under the federal government gets adopted by two men
It would have been such a cool twist if Alex had been the one to end up pregnant, where Haley and Luke come together to support her. And if Haley had ended up being so successful in the fashion industry
if i remember correctly, the cast was supportive during the whole sarah hyland and matt prokop issue, especially julie bowen. it still feels weird watching the Disneyland episode because of that abusive guy. ugh
Exactly bro me too even i got shocked for a moment and after 2 days or binging half of the season i got used to it and my mind accepted the fact. Now i feel like crying after i have finished all 11 seasons.
I didn't know about Craig T. Nelson being up for the part of Jay. I could see him in that role although I'm glad Ed O'Neill got the part. He demonstrated his versatility being so closely linked to "Al Bundy". Carroll O'Connor and Buddy Ebsen weren't as successful, though they tried.
I don't blame them for suing for more money, these production companies and studio make money a ton of money and give it too CEO and stock holders instead of paying a living wage to crew and small actors
I love that they stuck together. I hope they make money off of the repeats. The cast of Friends make $20m a year EACH from the show being on somewhere EVERY SECOND OF EVERY DAY
I feel that Haley's character arc end was meant to go in the direction of her mother Claire's. So i guess her ending as a housewife played as a similar trajectory to Claire's life as thier life has so similarities
Few other facts about the show and it's cast that I already knew; 1. The series finale was during the infamous lockdown. Why that still doesn't shock anyone I have no idea. 2. Around the time Haley was pregnant, Sarah also faced another personal trauma; her teenage cousin's death in a car accident. Her uncle survived with injuries. 3. She disowned the show for not involving Haley or the other grandkids in the episode about Frank Dunphy dying. 4. Season 9 was the only season (on most episodes, anyway) since season 5 where Julie Bowen doesn't portray Claire as a smartalic/insane woman. 5. Although "Little Bo Bleep" was the first episode to feature any of the characters using censored profanity, Aubrey Anderson Emmons didn't actually say the F word, but instead said "fudge." Eventually in later episodes beginning with "Grab It!" and ending with part 1 of the finale, characters swearing became an on and off running gag.
@@peeenguinne3858Sarah Hyland… she even accidentally spoiled Frank’s death when she posted on instagram “how can i not be informed of my fictional granddad’s death” after that episode aired
@@kingti85 1. Back in April 2020 when everybody was forced to stay indoors, it could be seen as inconsiderate and oblivious to show a TV series episode involving people in close gatherings and going on flights when in reality nobody could do that again for a while. It's like ABC completely forgot we were on lockdown when the series finale aired. 2. I was referring to Sarah. I didn't feel the need to mention her name again because I literally just mentioned her in the previous fact. I didn't realize nobody would read that as a follow-up. 3. Smartalic means being incredibly rude and obnoxious. Mitchell, Haley, Alex, Dylan (for obvious reasons) and sometimes Phil were Claire's most prominent victims of her smartalic tendencies. She'd often chastise Haley for her life choices (and similarly Alex, but in more of the opposite direction, wanting her to be sillier and less serious about her education) and sometimes shared Jay's trait of hurling homophobic cracks at her little brother and Cam (such as in the Can't Elope episode, when she and Phil are micromanaging Haley and Dylan's wedding and Mitch and Cam are impatient because they're gonna miss Sophie's Choice for this, she makes a smart crack about how it's weird of _them_ to be impatient for a wedding). Hopefully all of this makes sense. I've talked about Modern Family and Julie Bowen in some of my videos before, but no one watches them. Even when I try to address that Haley _was_ in Thunk in the Trunk (the extended version), no one believes me.
It would be amazing to come out with Phil's book of, Philism's for parents. I could have used that guidance when my son was a toddler 😂 maybe I wouldn't have been such a helicopter mama.
Haley had such a good character development and some people think she threw it all away by getting back with that mook Dylan whom she was with at the beginning.
Yeah why is Dylan like a boomerang that coming back in her again and again and again? What is it about him that she finds herself attracted right back to her?
I was disappointed with that story arc .. Hayley was such a good character and SH did such a great job portraying her that she deserved a better outcome .
I think Haley getting successful wouldn't have been that good for viewers. I mean I have never seen her actually putting efforts or work hard for anything at all. Just doing some gig in fashion shouldnt lead to successfull career. I would have always thought what's the point of grilling myself everyday man?
Quick comment about fact #4 as an international adoptee: lots of countries had (and some still do) anti-lgbtq restrictions to keep same-sex couples from adopting. However, a lot of the time, this would be resolved by only one of the partners adopting the child in their home country, and then once back in the U.S., the second partner can adopt the child as well. Just wanted to make it clear that most families made up of same-sex couples and international adoptees from times when said couples weren't technically allowed to adopt together did not involve an illegal scheme!
one thing which still bothers me. WHY WERE THE BEING FILMED!?!?!? in both the office usa and uk, and parks and rec, we saw the documentary in the finale.
The og plans was to have a foreign film crew filming the family to get an insight on what a sterotyoical american family was like, which i woukdve liked better, since yhe family just has random film crew in their houses 😂
I would not have watched if Ed O'Neil hadn't gotten the part of Jay. Craig Nelson in my opinion is a stale actor that comes across as he's playing the same character in every single role he's played.
Again, my mom couldn't be a stay at home mom, but when she threw her back out and was home for 3 months, it sucked she was hurt, but it was the BEST to have her. People! Wake up
I actually really liked Hayleys ending with her having twins. I love her and Dylan together idk why. Like yes.. we were robbed of Andy and Hayley, but Dylan and Hayley just fit so well together for some odd reason.
One of my all time favorite shows. I actually always found that they didnt give Alex her own love story, did she really have to end up with her older sister's ex.

it is realistic and as a viewer i’m not disappointed. but i empathise with sarah hyland developing this character for 11 years and her not being satisfied with the ending
@@muffy_ that is true I mean it’s your character and one would care for it as if you are actually the character but the cut throat world of making it big in the fashion world is very hard it’s almost like trying to be a football or basketball star
Its pretty selfish that Sarah wanted her character to blossom in the fashion industry at the end all of a sudden considering Hailey Dunphy was neither academically smart nor street smart.
The actress who played Hayley should get over it. Guess what, you don't get the dream career when you half-ass your entire life of school. What happened to her makes a lot more sense than her getting the dream job.
