We actually do know that Ross and Rachel married. This fact is mentioned in the short-lived show 'Joey', the spin-off of Friends, written and produced by the same people as Friends so it's exactly the same universe. In one episode, Joey said to his new friends in Los Angeles (the spin-off is about Joey moving to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career) that all his old, best friends in New York are married now. That clearly means Ross and Rachel got married, we just didn't see it on Friends. Cause Monica&Chandler and Phobe&Mike already married on Friends. So if Joey said now ALL of his best friends are married, this means Ross and Rachel too, and they did def get back together, and it absolutely looked final, so it is pretty safe to assume they stick to it. Also, long story short, the writers simply confirmed it, and Jen in all her interviews always says that Ross and Rachel are still together, raising kids (she even used 'kids' not just Emma, so she imagines they got more kids after, which is so sweet for me).
Two questions I’ve always wondered about: 1. What happened between Monica and Rachel during college where they lost touch until Rachel appeared in the first episode? 2. How did Monica and Phoebe first meet to become friends and live together?
For your no.1 question, it is normal for two friends from college (or childhood friends) to have different lives after college, lose touch and completely forget the friendship. Rachel came from a wealthy family so she grew and had obtained "shallow and vapid" wealthy girl friends while Monica (along with Ross) still became grounded and had Phoebe, Chandler and Joey as her friends
I can't answer question 2 but question 1 is easy. Life happens. Sometimes we just loose touch with our closest friends. It's not always intentional, but it happens. When you think about the flashback scenes, Rachel was Monica's only friend. Amy even confirmed it when she (cruelly) said that "Monica used to follow Rachel around like a puppy." Once they parted ways for college and Monica started to develop her own personality, she and Rachel just became more different. They outgrew each other for a while but for go know one a other again as adults.
I'd like to see a spin off with the kids of Friends - Ben, Emma, the twins... easily could add in two random they meet at the coffee shop, or even add the triplets..... it would be a nice spin off....

Can I answer no.2 but it's just my opinion: It was already on the part where Ross, Susan and Phoebe were trapped in the janitors closet in the hospital. Even though Susan is with Carol as a romantic partner, she still has insecurities "there is no Lesbian Lovers Day". She saw Ross as the one who produced Ben with Carol (for obvious reasons)
Yeah, for number 1, I always wonder what did happen to her family, like her birth dad and mom? Or why weren't any of them attending her wedding? Like, why didn't ask either her birth dad or half brother to walk her down the aisle?

I still want to know is what happened to Chandler when he made it to Yemen and how long did it take for him to come back? Also, when did Janice find out that he returned? In one episode when she meets up with Ross, she mentions to everyone that she is weak and Chandler is in Yemen.

Only Ross and Chandler had enough money to pay for those apartments , Monica's middle name for many is Elizabeth , Jennifer Aniston said that Ross and Rachel married again and she got her old job in NY

Monica in the middle of the show was an already established chef in a big New York restaurant, and she also mentioned she got help, so I think her parents helped her earlier when she was short of cash. Rachel lived with Monica for the first 5 seasons, so together they could manage, later she lived with Pheobe and Joey, and Joey was also financially helped by Chandler, so they absolutely were all able to afford it. and since the middle of season 4 Rachel had a pretty solid job in the fashion industry, and jobs in the fashion industry in New York City are very well paid, then and now, even if you are starting just as an assistant. You also get a lot of free, expensive stuff. And again - for the longest time the ones that earned less, so Joey, Phoebe, and Rachel split the costs of living with each other when they lived together, and with other roommates (Joey had Chandler, Rachel, and Jannine). And I'm sure if they found themselves in really bad situations they always could count on their parents, or Chandler and Ross. It is even shown on the show - for example when Ross lends Monica money once and when Phoebe lives with Ross.
I don't think Monica had financial help from her parents esp her mom since she has been cynical and sarcastic whenever Monica has something going on in her life. Remember the episode when her parents confessed that they used her "Monica wedding fund" to buy a beach house because Judy didn't think that she would marry. I'm more concerned with where her grandmother was. In the first couple seasons, she's living with her grandmother, but talks about the years growing up where they had nothing and then she was on her own living on the street. Where did Ursula go in that time and why didn't Grandma take them in?
Maybe the twins where living with their step dad and when he went to jail they got homeless. And couldn't reach their grandma (because it wasn't that easy back then, they didn't have cell phone or social media). And then they found her (don't know how) also their parents disappearing doesn't bother me that much or her brother, because maybe they didn't show that part of her life, it doesn't mean it didn't happen... They don't show when they go to the bathroom but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
The show addressed all of these issues people are writing about here, through the years and to various degrees as all TV shows do. Take financial issues: For the first 3-4 seasons it was shown that they had money problems, especially those who earned less, so Joey, Phoebe, and Rachel. And it was shown they got help - Chandler helped Joey throughout the show, Ross helped Monica in season 1 or 2 - don't remember which one now, and Jack Geller, Monica's dad also helped her financially once, it was in season 2 too. Rachel was helped by all of the rest at the start, for example, they always ordered extra coffee at Central Perk, and the girls still struggled and it was shown in episode 9 of season 2 I believe. But slowly, they all built their careers and all were promoted like most people do in life, which was also shown: Monica became a big chef in a big restaurant like you said, so how is this poor? In fact, next to Chandler and Ross, Monica, later on, earned the most - chefs in big restaurants, especially in New York City earn very, VERY good money. Ross got promoted to a stable job at the university, Chandler also got promoted, then he got fired but he found a good job again in the ads industry, Rachel got promoted and had a great job at Ralph Lauren, and even tho Joey struggled many times, it was also shown that he finally got his regular role back at Days of our lives, so he was regular on soap opera, and back in the 90s that was a very solid paying job for an actor. The most unstable, financially, was always Phoebe but it was also shown that once Ross helped her, the girls helped her too, and later she also got a better job. Remember the episode when Phoebe lies to, and tries to hide from Rachel that she works at the big spa place. So clearly Phoebe got the better job too later on. So it was very naturally written, they all progressed financially but the show won't talk about it all in detail in every single episode, because that's boring and not what TV does. they still did a good job with all of this.
For me I wanna know is: 1. Did Joey's stalker ever go to Salem to find his "twin brother"? Haha 2. Does Joey still talk to McKenzie after her and her parents moved out of the house Monica and Chandler bought? 3. Are Julie and Russ still together? 4. Do Phoebe and Mike still live in her apartment after coming back from their honeymoon? 5. Did Chandler and Monica have any more children? 6. i think the "break" incident came because Rachel was putting to much into her career vs her love life which was making Ross insecure, so the plane situation always felt to me like the choosing him over the career that earlier Rachel didn't do and that was the full circle of their story. Honestly the show should of had a sandlot style epilogue send off just so we could know what happened even if we couldnt see it.
To me the biggest mystery in Friends is how Monica would allow everyone to constantly step with or without their shoes on her table and sofa while she can’t handle picturing a glass without a coaster…

I think Teri Garr deserves mad props for nailing Lisa Kudrow's quirky performance of Phoebe to make it maximumly believable her character's Phoebe's mom, because she so, so, SOOOO nailed it. I mean, because there are so many actors and directors who just sort of phone it in for TV, we've gotten used to suspending our disbelief through seeing actors totally miss this aspect of portraying another character's parent, like we don't ever see any aspects of Ross or Monica coming out in Elliott Gould's or Christina Pickles' performance as their parents to make it more believable they're their parents, for example, but like Meryl Streep didn't skip it in playing Alexander Skarsgard's character's mother in Big Little Lies, and the show was made so much better by all the believability that brought, Teri Garr didn't skip it in playing Phoebe's mother to the same effect. Thanks for not just phoning it in, Teri.

As far as Phoebe's birth father leaving, she was told that he left before she was born. She's a baby she doesn't know. You only go by what people told her so it's not really a mystery.

About the wedding venue, I always thought that when he got the call about the venue he hadn't been planning it, but it made him think about it and then he started looking at ring brochures and that's when Phoebe walked in. And then he went down to the museum and saw the venue.
I bet the person who would eventually move into Monica’s apartment after the show ended, has no friends at all and basically he is just friendless. Thus, a new show would be called: FRIENDLESS🛋️

Ross’s boss considered reinstating him and then in his boss’s presence he had a meltdown because he saw Chandler and Monica making out. Monica even refers to him being sacked once to her parents. So that is not a mystery.
If the apartment belonged to Ross and Monica's grandmother, it probably remained in the family, sublet to others over the years, but available for Emma, now 22, to move into post-college for a Friends sequel series to launch in 2024, maybe sharing it with bestie Erica Bing, while twin Jack Bing lives across the hall with his roommate. We might even have big brother Ben Geller as a supporting character working in whatever business is now in the spot once filled by Central Perk.
We do know that Ross and Rachel married it was confirmed by Joey on the Friends spin-off show Joey, and by the writers and actors in the interviews. Paris was never a real thing, it was a typical ploy and writing trope to reunite Ross and Rachel in a grand, romantic way and make Ross run to the airport as Rachel did when she first found out Ross loves her from Chandler - she ran after Ross to the airport when he was going to China. And Ross finds out that Rachel still loves him and wants to get off the plane by the answering machine just as he found out Rachel loves him in season 2 by listening to the answering machine. They came full circle and it was beautiful! Also, Rachel would never really leave Monica, and New York by that time was, and still is, way better for fashion jobs. NY is the fashion capital more than old Paris, and there are more opportunities there anyway. And Rachel already had a great job in New York and even more offers in the final episodes. And Ross wouldn't be able to raise his daughter on another continent, and he was co-parent!! He was teaching at the university so he couldn't take more free time than one weekend, and the flight from the US to Paris is very long and it costs a lot of money, and Ross would spend, like, only one day with Emma, one day per week tops and the trip would be exhausting. So Paris was NEVER realistic at all. It was just a typical writing trope to write this romantic airport cliffhanger, but by then we all knew Ross and Rachel are gonna reunite. And it was great!!!
To many unanswerd questions because of to many characters for anyone to be fully fleshed out. I used to think that Phoebe and Joey felt pointless after season 5. The jokes were always the same and by that point I had gotten sick of it. But then I rememberd that my favorite moment of the whole show was when Joey went vegetarian for Phoebe so she would not feel guilty for eating meat. And sometimes it'S ok to not know every little detail in your friends life tbh.
What I want to know most, is what Phoebe wrote for Ross so others wouldn’t touch his lunch/sandwich anymore. It had that effect on everyone, I would love to use it.
I think the thing with Phoebe’s roommate is a joke for fans, because they rarely talk about anything that’s not part of a story line. Kind of like Chandler’s job title or the fact that they’re never at work unless it’s part of the plot.
I can see phoebe being that parent who takes quirky kids under her wing and is welcoming to the single parent who maybe doesn’t feel they fit into the nicer neighbourhood

The last time we ever saw Ben was (as shown in this video) when he and Ross walked in as Phoebe cursed at the Ms. Pac-Man machine. So imagine of Carol and Susan decided to not let Ben be around Phoebe anymore. Especially because there was one episode when Phoebe pretended to be Ben’s mother which got her in trouble. It would have been nice though for him to have a sibling moment with Emma.

You even have the quote in the video! We know Ross doesn’t get his job back at the museum because he starts to teach college classes and in season 10, he gets tenure. She can't do that because Ross is a co-parent and taking a kid out of the state without the knowledge of the other parent is kidnapping and a crime, and to another continent even more. With the 'problem' of the children on the show - it is not unanswered at all, the TV producers and creators expect all of you to use your common sense of how TV and life work. We don't see these characters in every second of their lives because it's impossible. For example, we didn't see Monica and Chandler's whole honeymoon or Rachel being in Greece, or we didn't see all of them every day at work, we just saw them, usually, after work at Central Perk or their apartments. These are called the time jumps on TV, and a lot of stuff happens off-screen, it's obvious, isn't it? Ben and Carol, or Emma were never main, regular characters, they were background characters and they were rarely on the show since the start. This show was focused on the main 6 friends, and on young adults, and their dating life, not children. Also, it's a sitcom, with only 20 minutes episodes, and there is no time to show in detail how Emma and Ben are doing or playing together. This was never a priority. So Ben and Emma certainly knew each other, played together, and were living normally in New York, and their parents co-parenting them, but it was all off the screen, like in all shows. Also, any professional from tv/movie business will tell you, that working with animals and children on set is the worst thing ever, as children and animals are unpredictable, impatient, and cost a lot of money, especially little children like Emma because care-takers have to be there, on set, with her, and so it costs a lot of money. Also, the actor who played older Ben - -Cole Sprouse, was later a regular on Disney show and was simply not available later for Friends.

They of course, also needed nannies like every working parent. So most stuff with kids just happened off-screen, it's clear.
Sure maybe now but filming with kids at that time was easy . There weren’t the laws that there are now. In fact you saw A LOT of sitcoms with kids being a main character: the sprouse twins, olsens , Lindsay lohan , family matters, sister sister , the Amanda show etc you had mara Wilson in every late 90s project, McCaulay of home alone . The list goes on and on It was actually very easy in the era friends was in. The reason is they didn’t need Ben much for the storyline but the fans are right it does feel a bit unfinished

We need to understand that a 20 min episode sums up 2 weeks or a month of their life. Loads can happen in between and we’re just “showed” whatever is interesting in their lives.

We see Joey's parents once, early on, but never again. Well, it's just a TV show. I'm sure in the first seasons, the writers don't even expect the show will run so long and are more concerned about making funny lines than continuity.

And the fact they act like fucking tenagers, irresponsible around them, making decissions without even think about them(example : Rachel wants to move to Paris and.nobody says shit about take Emma away from Ross) proves that the Producers didnt even put any effort in last seasons to make a coherent writting. You can see the Big difference at the beggining at season 5 when Emily asks Ross to move to London but he refuses because of Ben.
As we know Ross' character can get pretty miserable and obsessive when something he didnt like happens. İ am %100 sure that didnt happen because if it did we would definetely see a miserable Ross that cant let go. And beside from the fact Carol and Susan being mean to Ross in a kinda fun way Carol was mostly really sweet with Ross and she cared about him. So i dont think she would do that. I don't like that Rachel maybe got her old job back. It was making her unhappy spending 40+ hours at a job that had no future. She should have gone to Paris. If Ross wanted to be with her, he should have gone too. I think she'd resent Ross in maybe a year because she chose him over the job, and they'd always circle back to that in their fights.
With the 'problem' of the children on the show - it is not unanswered at all, the TV producers and creators expect all of you to use your common sense of how TV and life work. We don't see these characters in every second of their lives because it's impossible. For example, we didn't see Monica and Chandler's whole honeymoon or Rachel being in Greece, or we didn't see all of them every day at work, we just saw them, usually, after work at Central Perk or their apartments. These are called the time jumps on TV, and a lot of stuff happens off-screen, it's obvious, isn't it? Ben and Carol, or Emma were never main, regular characters, they were background characters and they were rarely on the show since the start. This show was focused on the main 6 friends, and on young adults, and their dating life, not children. Also, it's a sitcom, with only 20 minutes episodes, and there is no time to show in detail how Emma and Ben are doing or playing together. This was never a priority. So Ben and Emma certainly knew each other, played together, and were living normally in New York, and their parents co-parenting them, but it was all off the screen, like in all shows. Also, any professional from tv/movie business will tell you, that working with animals and children on set is the worst thing ever, as children and animals are unpredictable, impatient, and cost a lot of money, especially little children like Emma because care-takers have to be there, on set, with her, and so it costs a lot of money. Also, the actor who played older Ben - -Cole Sprouse, was later a regular on Disney show and was simply not available later for Friends.

For the first 3-4 seasons it was shown that they had money problems, especially those who earned less, so Joey, Phoebe, and Rachel. And it was shown they got help - Chandler helped Joey throughout the show, Ross helped Monica in season 1 or 2 - don't remember which one now, and Jack Geller, Monica's dad also helped her financially once, it was in season 2 too. Rachel was helped by all of the rest at the start, for example, they always ordered extra coffee at Central Perk, and the girls still struggled and it was shown in episode 9 of season 2 I believe. But slowly, they all built their careers and all were promoted like most people do in life, which was also shown: Monica became a big chef in a big restaurant like you said, so how is this poor? In fact, next to Chandler and Ross, Monica, later on, earned the most - chefs in big restaurants, especially in New York City earn very, VERY good money. Ross got promoted to a stable job at the university, Chandler also got promoted, then he got fired but he found a good job again in the ads industry, Rachel got promoted and had a great job at Ralph Lauren, and even tho Joey struggled many times, it was also shown that he finally got his regular role back at Days of our lives, so he was regular on soap opera, and back in the 90s that was a very solid paying job for an actor. The most unstable, financially, was always Phoebe but it was also shown that once Ross helped her, the girls helped her too, and later she also got a better job. Remember the episode when Phoebe lies to, and tries to hide from Rachel that she works at the big spa place. So clearly Phoebe got the better job too later on. So it was very naturally written, they all progressed financially but the show won't talk about it all in detail in every single episode, because that's boring and not what TV does. they still did a good job with all of this.

Two questions I’ve always wondered about:
1. What happened between Monica and Rachel during college where they lost touch until Rachel appeared in the first episode?
2. How did Monica and Phoebe first meet to become friends and live together?
For your no.1 question, it is normal for two friends from college (or childhood friends) to have different lives after college, lose touch and completely forget the friendship. Rachel came from a wealthy family so she grew and had obtained "shallow and vapid" wealthy girl friends while Monica (along with Ross) still became grounded and had Phoebe, Chandler and Joey as her friends
Rachel said herself that “they grew apart”, so nothing bad happened really, as for Phoebe Monica probably took her in off the street.

I can't answer question 2 but question 1 is easy. Life happens. Sometimes we just loose touch with our closest friends. It's not always intentional, but it happens. When you think about the flashback scenes, Rachel was Monica's only friend. Amy even confirmed it when she (cruelly) said that "Monica used to follow Rachel around like a puppy." Once they parted ways for college and Monica started to develop her own personality, she and Rachel just became more different. They outgrew each other for a while but for go know one a other again as adults.
I'd like to see a spin off with the kids of Friends - Ben, Emma, the twins... easily could add in two random they meet at the coffee shop, or even add the triplets..... it would be a nice spin off....

Monica in the middle of the show was an already established chef in a big New York restaurant, and she also mentioned she got help, so I think her parents helped her earlier when she was short of cash. Rachel lived with Monica for the first 5 seasons, so together they could manage, later she lived with Pheobe and Joey, and Joey was also financially helped by Chandler, so they absolutely were all able to afford it. and since the middle of season 4 Rachel had a pretty solid job in the fashion industry, and jobs in the fashion industry in New York City are very well paid, then and now, even if you are starting just as an assistant. You also get a lot of free, expensive stuff. And again - for the longest time the ones that earned less, so Joey, Phoebe, and Rachel split the costs of living with each other when they lived together, and with other roommates (Joey had Chandler, Rachel, and Jannine). And I'm sure if they found themselves in really bad situations they always could count on their parents, or Chandler and Ross. It is even shown on the show - for example when Ross lends Monica money once and when Phoebe lives with Ross.

i think the "break" incident came because Rachel was putting to much into her career vs her love life which was making Ross insecure, so the plane situation always felt to me like the choosing him over the career that earlier Rachel didn't do and that was the full circle of their story. Honestly the show should of had a sandlot style epilogue send off just so we could know what happened even if we couldnt see it.
To me the biggest mystery in Friends is how Monica would allow everyone to constantly step with or without their shoes on her table and sofa while she can’t handle picturing a glass without a coaster…

I think Teri Garr deserves mad props for nailing Lisa Kudrow's quirky performance of Phoebe to make it maximumly believable her character's Phoebe's mom, because she so, so, SOOOO nailed it. I mean, because there are so many actors and directors who just sort of phone it in for TV, we've gotten used to suspending our disbelief through seeing actors totally miss this aspect of portraying another character's parent, like we don't ever see any aspects of Ross or Monica coming out in Elliott Gould's or Christina Pickles' performance as their parents to make it more believable they're their parents, for example, but like Meryl Streep didn't skip it in playing Alexander Skarsgard's character's mother in Big Little Lies, and the show was made so much better by all the believability that brought, Teri Garr didn't skip it in playing Phoebe's mother to the same effect. Thanks for not just phoning it in, Teri.

They came full circle and it was beautiful! Also, Rachel would never really leave Monica, and New York by that time was, and still is, way better for fashion jobs. NY is the fashion capital more than old Paris, and there are more opportunities there anyway. And Rachel already had a great job in New York and even more offers in the final episodes. And Ross wouldn't be able to raise his daughter on another continent, and he was co-parent!! He was teaching at the university so he couldn't take more free time than one weekend, and the flight from the US to Paris is very long and it costs a lot of money, and Ross would spend, like, only one day with Emma, one day per week tops and the trip would be exhausting. I used to think that Phoebe and Joey felt pointless after season 5. The jokes were always the same and by that point I had gotten sick of it.
But then I rememberd that my favorite moment of the whole show was when Joey went vegetarian for Phoebe so she would not feel guilty for eating meat. And sometimes it'S ok to not know every little detail in your friends life tbh.

The last time we ever saw Ben was (as shown in this video) when he and Ross walked in as Phoebe cursed at the Ms. Pac-Man machine. So imagine of Carol and Susan decided to not let Ben be around Phoebe anymore. Especially because there was one episode when Phoebe pretended to be Ben’s mother which got her in trouble. It would have been nice though for him to have a sibling moment with Emma.

We don't see these characters in every second of their lives because it's impossible. For example, we didn't see Monica and Chandler's whole honeymoon or Rachel being in Greece, or we didn't see all of them every day at work, we just saw them, usually, after work at Central Perk or their apartments. These are called the time jumps on TV, and a lot of stuff happens off-screen, it's obvious, isn't it? Ben and Carol, or Emma were never main, regular characters, they were background characters and they were rarely on the show since the start. This show was focused on the main 6 friends, and on young adults, and their dating life, not children. Also, it's a sitcom, with only 20 minutes episodes, and there is no time to show in detail how Emma and Ben are doing or playing together. This was never a priority. So Ben and Emma certainly knew each other, played together, and were living normally in New York, and their parents co-parenting them, but it was all off the screen, like in all shows. Also, any professional from tv/movie business will tell you, that working with animals and children on set is the worst thing ever, as children and animals are unpredictable, impatient, and cost a lot of money, especially little children like Emma because care-takers have to be there, on set, with her, and so it costs a lot of money. Also, the actor who played older Ben - -Cole Sprouse, was later a regular on Disney show and was simply not available later for Friends.

Rachel took care of Ben when he was older when she taught Ben the tricks etc. And they clearly, both - Ross and Rachel - took care of Emma all the time, when living together in the apartment. They of course, also needed nannies like every working parent. So most stuff with kids just happened off-screen, it's clear.
Yeah Ben was omitted out of the final seasons because of the twins playing him went to work for Disney Channel, and yes Ben was played by twins.
Sure maybe now but filming with kids at that time was easy . There weren’t the laws that there are now. In fact you saw A LOT of sitcoms with kids being a main character: the sprouse twins, olsens , Lindsay lohan , family matters, sister sister , the Amanda show etc you had mara Wilson in every late 90s project, McCaulay of home alone . The list goes on and on
It was actually very easy in the era friends was in. The reason is they didn’t need Ben much for the storyline but the fans are right it does feel a bit unfinished

Ross also mentions in season 3 when talking to Monica that he hopes that Ben will have a little sister to be raised with her. So Ross would never let Ben simply leave, and when you co-parent, as Ross did with Carol and with Rachel, the other parent can't simply take your child away, especially on another continent, without you agreeing to it first, and Ross would never agree with it. He loved his children and wanted to raise them.

And the fact they act like fucking tenagers, irresponsible around them, making decissions without even think about them(example : Rachel wants to move to Paris and.nobody says shit about take Emma away from Ross) proves that the Producers didnt even put any effort in last seasons to make a coherent writting.
You can see the Big difference at the beggining at season 5 when Emily asks Ross to move to London but he refuses because of Ben.

As we know Ross' character can get pretty miserable and obsessive when something he didnt like happens. İ am %100 sure that didnt happen because if it did we would definetely see a miserable Ross that cant let go. And beside from the fact Carol and Susan being mean to Ross in a kinda fun way Carol was mostly really sweet with Ross and she cared about him. So i dont think she would do that. İts a fun fan theory thou.

I don't like that Rachel maybe got her old job back. It was making her unhappy spending 40+ hours at a job that had no future. She should have gone to Paris. If Ross wanted to be with her, he should have gone too. I think she'd resent Ross in maybe a year because she chose him over the job, and they'd always circle back to that in their fights.

totally wrong, It is all known and it was all addressed if you actually bother to watch the show. The show addressed all of these issues people are writing about here, through the years! For the first 3-4 seasons it was shown that they had money problems, especially those who earned less, so Joey, Phoebe, and Rachel. And it was shown they got help - Chandler helped Joey throughout the show, Ross helped Monica in season 1 or 2 - don't remember which one now, and Jack Geller, Monica's dad also helped her financially once, it was in season 2 too. Rachel was helped by all of the rest at the start, for example, they always ordered extra coffee at Central Perk, and the girls still struggled and it was shown in episode 9 of season 2 I believe. But slowly, they all built their careers and all were promoted like most people do in life, which was also shown: Monica became a big chef in a big restaurant like you said, so how is this poor? In fact, next to Chandler and Ross, Monica, later on, earned the most - chefs in big restaurants, especially in New York City earn very, VERY good money. Ross got promoted to a stable job at the university, Chandler also got promoted, then he got fired but he found a good job again in the ads industry, Rachel got promoted and had a great job at Ralph Lauren, and even tho Joey struggled many times, it was also shown that he finally got his regular role back at Days of our lives, so he was regular on soap opera, and back in the 90s that was a very solid paying job for an actor. The most unstable, financially, was always Phoebe but it was also shown that once Ross helped her, the girls helped her too, and later she also got a better job. Remember the episode when Phoebe lies to, and tries to hide from Rachel that she works at the big spa place. So clearly Phoebe got the better job too later on. So it was very naturally written, they all progressed financially but the show won't talk about it all in detail in every single episode, because that's boring and not what TV does. they still did a good job with all of this.

Here's one.....on the day Rachel went into labor with Emma, it was the heat of the summer and about 100 degrees outside. A year later, on her first birthday, they have a party for her and everyone comes in wearing fall or winter clothes. Coats, scarves, leather boots, etc. What's that about???

I want to know why only Ross gets the flak for his relationships being ruined. Carol was the one who cheated, but no one says anything and Rachel also is absolved of any wrong doing regarding Mark. Yes, she never slept with him, but she also doesn't try to correct anyone about his being at the apartment when she and Ross are talking about fixing their relationship.
