    Dream guitar. The sustain on this one is unreal. I do think the 40 series sound better than the standard series models in general.

    I have a Collings OM-41 and I am seriously considering a trade for one of these. Its tough because the Collings is incredible but I also miss a Martin OM.

    I tried one of these a couple of years ago....and every guitar I’ve played since hasn’t come close. They are that good. But if my wife found out I’d spent £5k on a guitar, there would be a problem.

      Danny Perfect damn, you are so lucky. I genuinely am happy for you. There is not a better acoustic out there. Hope you play the shit out of it and don’t keep in the case all it’s life.

    Is this one of the best guitars that you’ve tried?Sounds awesome.I’m thinking of buying one of these or the standard om-28 reimagined. Thanks

      It is definitely amazing. I don't know if is just this particular guitar or what but it's got something seriously special happening. Martin is building some monster guitars over the past couple years.

      I find myself in a similar position.. looking for an om 28 ... standard.. modern deluxe .. or 42 ... im edging towards the standard or the 42 ...
      Im just going on online reviews ...
      What did you end up going with ...

      @@user-tx8uc3iw3w Finally got the om42, amazing guitar with a rich bass for its size and much better than the 28 (Half of the price). But i think i prefer the shorter scale like the 000.

      Looks like your back in the market again 😆 will you go for the 000-42 or the 000-28 ...
      I've been watching every review i can find ... om's and 000's .. just rewatched om 42 and om 28 review at maurya.and gone over all ians reviews as well .. tbh I couldn't tell the difference.. om42 a bit bossier . I think its £2600 difference in price 🤔... someone else recommended the 000 28 modern deluxe .. thats sounds too bright .. if thats the right expression..
      Id say I'll have to wait for travel restrictions to lift and go play them ..
      Thanks for getting back to me ... appreciate your opinion.. 😎

      @@user-tx8uc3iw3w I think that the 42 sound and craftmanship worth the extra but if you go for the 28 be sure that you try them first because they are not as consistent as the 42. There are amazing and awful units. I would forget about modern deluxe. Cheers!

    Hi Ian, great video, does that Om-42 sound better than the Om-28? If so why is that. Thanks

    • @chriss6625
      @chriss6625 Год назад

      From the research I’ve done (without in person comparing the two) people say the 42 sounds more open, more complex, more resonant. The reason would be the wood selection is top quality when compared to the 28. Also, I’ve been told the purfling design also makes it more resonant because it allows the top some separation from the sides and ability to vibrate.

      Highest quality wood. The higher models get the best quality wood. It's not just the bling. I suspect perhaps better craftsmanship (maybe the best builders at Martin work on these). I'm not entirely sure but I can confirm playing in person they do sound better
