I had a 1995 Lowden S32 custom, slotted headstock with the same amount of bling always regret having to sell it. Keep up the great work.

Such a sweet guitar and looks incredible. Just don’t know why martin is still charging boutique prices for these things when they are churning them out so quickly. They could reward the people for being so loyal to the martin brand since 1833 by giving us something affordable every once in awhile (I said after checking the price of one of these)

I've got a 000-custom shop beauty w/vts top, I settled on Martin after trying diff other high-end brand(Eastman,Taylor, Larrivee)! If u go used uu may be able to save some money, but yea premium price for Custom Shop/Deluxe models/Authentic series/40's series run ab 5-8k and up! If I were to spend over 3k on a guitar I would go used or Bourgeois/Collings etc. They are incredible but they charge boutique prices for high-quality factory/customizable guitars!

Concerns over costs certainly are understood. Conversely, the "lower price syndrome" is exactly what drove manufacturing overseas (we blame the corporations but...it's us!)
Again, not attempting to justify rising prices, however, I wouldn't expect a skilled U.S. craftsman to do an excellent job, with outstanding quality, for less than I would expect to earn building that same quality ;-)
      Best wishes on your GAS!

I just bought one of these today. Absolute killer. I decided my life was to short to be able to go the cheap route. I don’t regret. Got some discount from it since it was b stock. I checked against 10k guitars in the room.. this sounded best. Exactly like the guys is saying in the room. CRISP AS FUVK. can recommend

Nice video, the OM-42 sounds great....................
OM/000's are the perfect body size to me !!! I retired with three (a first year OM-18 Authentic, a Custom Shop OM-28 Alpine/Madagascar, and a very rare 2005 OM-45TB Engelmann/Tasmanian Blackwood), so 3 OM's with six different tone woods, a variety of voices from the same body size.
I've owned some fine Bourgeois and Collings over the decades, great vintage style guitars, but my heart, or should I say ears, belong to Martin. After the firsts hit, high end Martins hold value extremely well, especially tone woods that are constrained or rare.
May every musician's journey include a Martin along the way.....................

This guitar is unbelievable! I have a 92'herringbone d16/18. Sound is unparalleled! It stays in tune always. I sometimes go to tune and all strings are in tune. You get what u pay for with a Martin Guitar!

I own one and these guys ain't lying.
The depth these guitars have for such a shallow body type amazes me every time I pick it up.
It can be beautiful and sweet sounding with a firm and balanced projection and even though it may not be as deep as a dreadnought, when it eventually opens up, you'd be pleasantly mistaken for thinking you were hearing one!

Truly impressive instrument. Granted, some builders charge a premium for line-built instruments. If a boutique builder sounds better (or comparable), is competitively priced, it is worth considering. I am not brand loyal. Whatever the "right" guitar is, works for me. That's the key to a sound purchase; all things considered, does the instrument work for you, and do you want to keep playing it? Easier said than done to be sure.

I'm fortunate enough to have bought one about 18 years ago when the price was about $3K. (Should have bought several! lol) Seriously, I absolutely love my OM-42. Not just the playability and the sound but it is the absolute perfect size. Not too big, not too small - it just fits. You can cradle this thing closer to you when you play. I like that.

Kudo's to Quinton for a nice demo of this very pretty Martin OM-42. Is this OM-42 Forward-shifted? I have a 000-28 Reimagined that's rear-shifted, but I also have a 0000-18S (12 fret slot head) that's GE braced and forward shifted. I'm spoiled by having nice Martin's. Thanks for showing us this pretty OM-42!

Beautiful looks and sound.....my only issue is I wish Martin would go back to the teardrop shape on the pickguard.....the last couple years they seem to have squared them off by the bridge......not nearly as attractive as the teardrop...they went from beautiful to plain ugly on these new pickguards

It's one great guitar. I bought one in 2000, and it actually sounds better than it looks. I'm very glad I got this before Martin went hog wild with automation. Big mistake. I don't consider Martins to be a hand made guitars anymore.

Get a guitar like that and it seems to just flow out of it. Or try an OM with Adirondack VTS top and Ziricote back and sides, hide glue, 1.75" nut, modified low oval neck with performing artist taper. Not as flashy but nice
