Why am I tempted to enter the raffle even though ive already got a very similar xk 😂 If it was actually as unreliable as jags reputation then a spare might be useful, but its actually been practically faultless in the year I've had it.
A well cared for Jag is seriously good value for money! I almost get the feeling that all car peeps not only should have an Alfa at some point in their life but also a Jag.
Great car ! You're lucky to get it from Jack as he sorted anything wrong. I own a 2011 XK 5.0 n.a. convert...and I love it! ( I also NEVER use the infotainment screen for much, as I put in a system to use with my phone via bluetooth). The two back non-seats will frustrate you as seats, even for small kids ... but they make great accessible boot space! You will get looks and compliments. I've owned mine for two years now...and I still always look back when I park, to admire it.
@@dadcars I bet both car be it newer versions of something I've thought about getting, did think about the coupe or the 3200 but then the running costs put me off, the the mk1 xk/xkr and for some reason the gearshifter being J put me off so ended up with an 04 SL. The MK2 Jag xk is something I've had a sweet spot for just not had the money
Hi ben done the bmw m thing before and it bit me in the arse hard rather than a e39 m5 you could get a xk350 xjr saloon. Now thats a cool dad car and it would be a lot cheaper than the e39 m5
Hi Ben I had a e38 7 series years ago and that was a really good car ,but when I bought my e46 m3 I was a brilliant car ,but it developed an intermittent misfire .it cost me well over 12 grand to get to the bottom of it . Brilliant car absolutely loved it but the problem solving cost me a fortune. Will tell you all about it when we catch up 👍
Another V8 2+2 GT car? I'm not going to be able to stop myself having a little splash on it... And in 2022 I seriously considered a 4.2 XK. How about a back-to-back kids review of the Dad-erati and the XK? Which appeals to the next generation of potential petrol heads, who are likely going to buy this as full-blown classics. And of course Ben's own back-to-back review would be interesting.
@@dadcars Many people who I speak to don't like the back end of the X100s, but I agree with you that the look is timeless. They still look special today.

an XK would make a good comparison to my BMW E63 sat on my drive. (admittedly it's the diesel 635d variant, but still...) i've always wanted a jaaaaag, time to go get a couple of tickets.
@@dadcars they are, especially the diesels at present. The 650i seems to be the one to go for in terms of residuals. I think they are at rock bottom now, will only start to rise in the future.
