Top marks! With another round auditions approaching, this was tremendous homework, comforting knowing the sway pole is lined with huge mats. And appreciate the cardio tip! Great content as always
Caleb Miller ...hey thanks. I know the choreography/ blocking isn't exactly the same now a days as it was back in 1995. Good luck on your next audition!
5:28 it seemed like there was much more action on top of the tall building back then than now! Do you know why or when they changed it? Lately they just hit a couple of guys and jump
Hey, this has always been my favourite attraction at Disney World and I've always had so many questions about the show that a lot of your videos answer. Something I've always wondered was how many Indy stunt doubles are there employed at one time, and how often would each Indy perform? Keep up the great work! Love the videos!
Hi there, yeah its a great show and I'm grateful I had the opportunity to be part of it, even for a short time. Happy you like the vids! How many Indy's? Good question. Well, when I was there we were running 3 full time casts (Two casts a day doing 5 shows each). There was an AM cast, a PM cast and a swing cast that would work either the AM or PM shift on the days they were off and everyone came in on Thursdays. Every Cast had two Indys that would perform every shift. When one was Indy the other one played the part of the Director of Photography and usually split the shows 3/2 depending on seniority. I gotta say that 2 shows a day was plenty for me and after 3 I would be totally beat. So at the time we had 6 full time Indys and at least 5 part time as back up that I can think of. There were also a couple of Tumblers that were cross trained as Indy if needed. I'm not sure now a days how many full time casts there are or how many in reserve but in 1995 we had at least 6 full time and a good 6-7 additionally trained. Sorry......LOOONNNGGGG Answer.
Wow, thanks so much for the great answer! I may have misunderstood this part but you said each cast did 5 shows each, does this mean there was a total of 10 shows per day?
AM started early with like an 8:30am show and PM cast ended pretty late. Soon I'll post what the assignment / schedule board looked like in the talent trailer.
Hello! I grew up with this show, and it’s what got me into acting, and stage combat. I’m trying to train myself to audition for the role of Marion, and was wondering what you knew about her part? I appreciate all the information you’ve posted!
Hi! That's fantastic that this show inspired you and pointed you in a direction. If you've been training in stage combat and acting, that's definitely a plus. When I worked there, the Marion's, casting director and "slate" role all rotated and could do each others parts. Maybe they still do. Some people were part time and would only do the non stunt rolls of casting Director or Slate. Any training in gymnastics or tumbling is also great to have. Upper body strength and cardio is a must for this show so be sure to work on your pull ups. Anything else specific you want to know just ask. Good luck to you and stay safe!
Connor Crain ... unfortunately I don't have a lot of footage of the truck. But yes there are two trucks and I actually got to drive it when I played the German agent a few times. When Marion jumps in the back of the truck it then pulls around the back side of marketplace and is parked on a specific mark. Marion then jumps out and makes her way through a pathway in the marketplace area, at the same time the mechanical "flip truck" is sent around and after the explosion and the gas flames die down, the cast sprays the CO2 fire extinguishers witch masks her popping out of a crate that has a hindged door on the front facing side of it that is right next to the back of the truck ...so yes a trapdoor of sorts.
I love the BTS of this show. I'm curious, how high is the high fall at the end? Do you know if that height is the same for the more recent shows as well? Thanks!!
Hi Jonathan, the number that sticks in my head is 28 feet, platform to the ground I believe. The fall pad is pretty tall, like 5.5-6 feet high. So the fall to the pad is about 22-23 feet, if I recall correctly. I don't think anything changed about it, height wise over the years.
@@wlenser Awesome, thank you. I'm a stunt performer and was working on a feature this past week when I showed your video to some of the other stunt performers. We were trying to figure out the height of the fall and the depth of the pad and we got pretty close! Most of the guesses were around 30 feet.
I was also curious about what the floor for the Cairo scene was made out of. Was that similar to a gymnastics spring floor or was it more of a foam material or something entirely different?
@@JonathanWesselActor ..yeah the area that the tumbling, whip/ fight is on is pretty much a dense fold up foam mat. Everything else is concrete. Scene 3 plane fight is all on concrete.
Hey, quick question.. if there are shows going on almost everyday, when did you get the chance to film this. Also, how often would you guys rehearse/practice for the show, and when?
We just shot this between shows, it's even possible that an audience was loading. The carts that make up the Mayan temple set are blocking this Cairo portion of the stage from audience view. As a new cast member you would rehearse and learn the show for about three weeks if I remember correctly. After that you are in shows every day if you are full time. I recall rehearsing only when a change was made to the show blocking or script, other wise you are constantly learning and improving by doing the show daily.
5:41 sing with me sing for the year

Thanks, and last question, how tall is that high fall?
Caleb Miller ...I believe it was 28 feet to the ground. The pad was like 5ft tall, can't recall exactly. So fall is around 22-23 feet.
5:41 for one minute I thought there was nothing for him to land on

Yup, we had 10 shows a day split 5/5.
Wow, that's crazy. How'd they fit that many shows in? I don't think they do that many anymore.

Do you have any footage on how the “exploding” truck actually works. I know theres two trucks? Trap doors?

Wicked Lenser Awesome Thanks! Like many others I’m a big fan of that show. Love the vids man!
Wicked Lenser I think that I’m going to start gymnastics because I want to be a stunt man
That's awesome! Gymnastics is very helpful in that business. Martial arts is also good.

Wicked Lenser btw what is your favorite Disneyland California ride?
That's a tough one. But Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden eye is at the top of the list for sure.
Wicked Lenser it is one my favorites too
Wicked Lenser also of course it is one of your favorites
Wicked Lenser my favorite ride is (probably now that I rode it) Splash Mountain
Do you know anyone who can get backstage and behind the scenes footage of waterworld
