Still got that energy and you can tell, not only physical alone, but mental like when he talks about his voice The first 20 minutes of this film clearly shows James Mangold, Harrison, and everyone got what it takes to make a classic Indy adventure in modern cinema. The rest of the film then shows that they could also do a new Indy adventure, and like what Harrison been saying “Tell a story about Indy that we think we’d never see.” I enjoyed this film. The audience score on RT is 88 percent. IF I were to take that face value more people loved it than not. The criticial score is 69 arrogate which is a fresh film on the site, again not a mark that shows it's terrible. So, I honestly don't get where these haters actually are. Everyone I know liked it and they did not like Kingdom of the Crystal Skull much. It seems the haters mostly exist on the internet. Myself, I am not saying it was a perfect movie, but I found it enjoyable, and it felt like Indy to me. It was a good way to end it.
It was great to see prime Indiana Jones again, of course once more in an impossible situation, about to be hanged in the first minute of a movie while things explode around him. LOL!!!
The film is decent and it serves quite excellent as a reference to all the previous ones! I've seen it twice in the cinema! We should be grateful to Harrison Ford for returning back as Indiana Jones for the very final time...!! In many aspects it is quite better than the "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull". An obvious downside: his age! Ford he is visibly older, because.... well, he is!! There's a gap of 15 years between the two films!! Nevertheless, he doesn't seem as an ordinary 80 years old person. He's quite fit and in shape, thus he's portraying the character with success, humor and decency!!!
Whew go there Harrison(Indy)like two movies in one CGI Indy to old Indy in one sitting .And that great scifi time travel end plot took a while to figure out how it affects end of movie.Great film.
1:41 If Indy was supposed to be 37 yrs old in 1944 that means the River Phoenix version of him in Last Crusade (in 1912) was supposed to 5 years old???
The beginning segment was awesome and I would buy a dvd just of that alone , but after that it became disappointing, I won’t be adding this one to my collection, what a shame, it had so much potential.
Kathleen Kennedy has literally been a producer with Lucasfilm since 1982, and has worked on nearly every classic film they did. I don't know why she is singled out and blamed for the poor performng ones.
I did not enjoy this movie overall BUT that opening was fantastic. Harrison Ford really did give it his all and it shows. Loved this look behind the scenes showing what all went into this.
That's the question isn't it? The people that have seen it for the most part love it. Many reasons, I think... A large portion of people were dissuaded from seeing it because of certain Internet personalities like DVD Overlord that spread false information about movies. None of the things that person said turned out to be true. But he wasn't the only one that said anything untrue that hurt the box office. There is also the fact that ticket prices have gone up and people are hesitant to spend money on movie theaters UNLESS they are assured it will be a fun time. They decide to see fewer films in theaters. Then there are the people that still feel getting sick from the virus by being in public. I still seeing people wearing masks.
Probably the best de-aging effect ever done. If we didn't know who Harrison Ford was and were just shown the footage, I doubt we would question it being CGI altogether and just think it's some young dude.
To improve this franchise, 1) remove Kathleen Kennedy. 2) recast someone talented and in like with Ford. 3) Dive into Jones’ history for new stories. 4) Have someone passionate about the franchise work this. Spielberg wanted to do a James Bond style movie and Lucas wanted to model it after serials from the 30s & 40s. The documentaries for filming these movies were so great!
While it was a neat effect to de-age Ford, I think something still didn't seem right. It was very good, but... something still odd about it. Come on, just cast Anthony Ingruber as a younger Indy already lol Think of all the cool actual action packed adventures they could make, none of this end of the line old man struggling to make sense of the world stuff. Let's go find Atlantis, let's go find the inner earth or Shangri-La.
It’s unfortunate that so many bad reviews from people who never saw this film probably ruined its run at the box office. Was it amazing? No. Was it a whole lot of fun and really enjoyable? You bet! I ended up seeing it twice and plan to buy it.
Apart of me wishes the flashback scenes were done with a different actor. Same build, maybe someone who's good at doing a Harrison Ford impression, dress him up and just film him in shadows and use the night time setting to mask the actor underneath maybe digital enhancing points where you can maybe see the actors face and use the de-aging tech as a tool rather than the main thing I understand that'll take some people out of the movie, but I'd prefer it over the uncanny Valley that was a de-aged Harrison. I just don't think the tech is there yet for scenes that last more than 2-3 minutes
Anthony Ingruber looks a lot like a younger Harrison Ford and could have pulled it off assuming his acting has improved. He played a younger version of Harrison Ford's character in Age of Adeline already.
Harrison was around 49 when he shoot Indiana Jones and the Last crusade, so the actor should be 55 years old in 1944, but the character is 10 years younger than that. Mystery explained
This film has a lot of problems after the 20 min mark. Should’ve shot everything for real instead of cg backgrounds in the first 20 mins though. Also they should’ve used Shamook instead of the method they went with
You should watch some of the other films in the Indy frnachise. You'll find there are a number of locations in those too. Theyre great movies. You'll enjoy them Im sure.

@@manuelk1853agreed!
Out of all the Indiana Jones movies this is the worst one. And it dragged on for too long even kingdom of the crystal skull was better than this.
And please, stop using the word amazing, it’s been overused
Man, sounds like they shouldve just made a young indiana jones adventure
i don't care what anybody says, i loved every indiana jones movie
This may have not been the greatest way to close the franchise, or the best movie... but it was really good, enjoyable and ofc, that first scene was AMAZING!, better that the Star Wars or Jurassic World ending, i really liked this movie.
The first 20 minutes are the bomb!
It was a great film despite the amount of crap it gets. I thoroughly enjoyed it and appreciate the effort put into it
The audience score on RT is 88 percent.
I'm glad the ideas that used to give people like River Phoenix work are finally done by computers
It was great to see prime Indiana Jones again, of course once more in an impossible situation, about to be hanged in the first minute of a movie while things explode around him. LOL!!!
Finally a good Indiana Jones movie again.
I really enjoyed it, and he was so good at his age as Indy again. I can't wait to own it.
I have enjoyed all the Indy movies and I especially liked how they portrayed a 78-80 year old Indy in Dail of Destiny.
Indy in 1969 had 70 years old (born in 1899)
1:38? 37 years old in 1944/45? Really?
He would canonically be 45/46
I love every Indiana Jones movie
I haven't got to see it yet!
2:53 The PS2 Indy.
Lovely movie. Great job. 😍😍😍😍
The beginning segment was awesome and I would buy a dvd just of that alone , but after that it became disappointing, I won’t be adding this one to my collection, what a shame, it had so much potential.
Dear Kathleen Kennedy. Please go away. You have ruined everything.
Concordo!😅
Cry
@@nathanb3995 ???
Kathleen Kennedy has literally been a producer with Lucasfilm since 1982, and has worked on nearly every classic film they did. I don't know why she is singled out and blamed for the poor performng ones.
@@ryanvera4957 She is now president of Lucas film. The buck stops with her.
I did not enjoy this movie overall BUT that opening was fantastic. Harrison Ford really did give it his all and it shows. Loved this look behind the scenes showing what all went into this.
This movie was amazing!
No it wasn’t. And stop using the word amazing, it’s been overused.
why this movie was flop? IDC any critics said but I love this indy movie
Indiana Jones fez e faz parte da minha vida desde os meus 5 anos de idade
foi uma honra assistir todos os filmes várias e várias vezes
Probably the best de-aging effect ever done. If we didn't know who Harrison Ford was and were just shown the footage, I doubt we would question it being CGI altogether and just think it's some young dude.
The 1944 part was the best part of the movie.
yes i love this movie too lol
Loved the movie!!!!!!
they should have done the WHOLE F*CKIN' MOVIE like THIS
This was actually a really awesome movie
To improve this franchise, 1) remove Kathleen Kennedy. 2) recast someone talented and in like with Ford. 3) Dive into Jones’ history for new stories. 4) Have someone passionate about the franchise work this. Spielberg wanted to do a James Bond style movie and Lucas wanted to model it after serials from the 30s & 40s. The documentaries for filming these movies were so great!
1:26 now we know how we got the Lucasfilm variant
I loved this movie it felt like a parody of the older ones.
Thanks for your unconditional love and support, where are you located from
While it was a neat effect to de-age Ford, I think something still didn't seem right.
I enjoyed the movie. I love the beginning sequence. Amazing. A lot better then Crystal Skull. Should of been the box office hit it never was.
0:26, the exterminator of dreams.
Sad that with all this talent, they couldn't make a good movie. 😥
See yourself out.
Great movie!
It’s unfortunate that so many bad reviews from people who never saw this film probably ruined its run at the box office. Was it amazing? No. Was it a whole lot of fun and really enjoyable? You bet! I ended up seeing it twice and plan to buy it.
Amazing movie and you would never guess that Spielberg did not direct it. It feels so much like the old movies.
If only the rest of the film had had as much care put into it as the prologue.
the rest of the film is even better imo, especially the tangiers sequence and the whole third act
@@jmb9040 I'm genuinely glad you enjoyed it, and I'm jealous of people that do, because I really wanted to.
i just wanna say ,Love you Indy!!!!!
Remember when behind the scenes explained how the movie was made rather than being like a trailer for the actual behind the scenes movie?
it was great I found the biggest giveaway when Young Indiana was on screen was the old man voice
I'm very okay if we move away from superheroes for a little bit to make more high-paced adventure films.
Apart of me wishes the flashback scenes were done with a different actor. Same build, maybe someone who's good at doing a Harrison Ford impression, dress him up and just film him in shadows and use the night time setting to mask the actor underneath maybe digital enhancing points where you can maybe see the actors face and use the de-aging tech as a tool rather than the main thing
I understand that'll take some people out of the movie, but I'd prefer it over the uncanny Valley that was a de-aged Harrison.
Mystery explained
they should of had the story revolve around and older Indy & short round. they definitely dropped the ball with this movie.
Cgi was good but i think the hair was too dark. Should have been light brown with speckles of grey in it at 45
I liked the movie it was good as a whole but was expecting more from this franchise, Indiana jones 1 and 3 are best
1944, Indiana Jones would have been 45 years old, not in his 30s. 1:39
This film has a lot of problems after the 20 min mark. Should’ve shot everything for real instead of cg backgrounds in the first 20 mins though. Also they should’ve used Shamook instead of the method they went with
Story is also important, as well as having likeable "co-stars"
I’m just glad the digital de-aging was more convincing than the fake beard at 2:04.
Yeah, what is that thing?
This movie just seems like an apology that everyone couldn't get their shit together and make one or two movies in the 90s like we wanted to see.
The movie overall is more a James Bond movie than an Indiana Jones movie with all these locations... ^^'
You should watch some of the other films in the Indy frnachise. You'll find there are a number of locations in those too. Theyre great movies. You'll enjoy them Im sure.
❤❤❤❤❤❤ love it. I watched it a few minutes ago
