Had a great experience on this late Sept 2019. The show ended and we're at Gertie's having ice cream. The German mechanic comes walking by wearing (basically) the same thing he wears in the show with a jacket over it. Despite being the same cast member that 2,000 people just saw and still in costume, no one recognized him. You could tell he was just trying to make his way to Hollywood Blvd as quick as he could without being noticed. We didn't want to out him, but when he made eye contact with everyone in our group looking at him he knew that we knew who he was. Someone in my group yelled "How did you survive?" and he just smiled and said "I'm faster than I look" and kept going.
Ironic, because I know him, or at least, my mom does. He's one of my mom's friend's hubbies. He may be a relative, though, unsure, since it's super early in the morning, I'd have to fact-check.
@@AMan-dt4dh No kidding? That's great! Really tall guy with a beard? Would have been late Sept 2019 but I've seen him there since at least Jan 2019 as well. Cool dude. Made our day.
@@fifthrider Yeah, he's the guy with a beard. It's pretty crazy to think of, but I asked about it, though it's so indirect, I doubt they would know us.
That classic opening! The choregraphy/stunts changed since then. Reminds me of my internship with WDI and one of the stuntmen taking time off to talk with me after a show in relation to the LMA stunts back then. Really kind people.
I got to work this show till March 2020 on my DCP!! Kevin is an amazing guy and was super kind to us. Fun fact, he also trains a lot of the current Indy's as well as being apart of the show! Also for the 30th anniversary of the show, he performed his role as Indy and did the first scene, rope drop and all, so it's nice to know he's still got it haha! Each one of the cast members on our last day (and as of writing this the show's last day) were so kind to each of us. They're like a huge family and are super close to each other and to many of the cast who help as ushers. I'm so happy that several of those stunt men and women were able to find work at Universal's new stunt show The Bourne Stuntacular. Here's hoping they can get back to Disney real soon! Great video!!!
The part where the truck flips over and "explodes", the stuntwoman playing Marian is actually never inside the truck. You can see a bunch of crates near the truck bed after it flips over and while the crew is extinguishing the flames (and creating a smokescreen), the stuntwoman secretly emerges from inside one of the crates and miraculously bursts through the smoke. It's a neat trick, provided the crew doesn't skimp on the extinguishers like they did when I was there!

My favorite attraction at that park. I finally got picked as an extra in 2010 and I was thrilled. Darn it I missed that special crossover. I was there in June and in October in 2010.
I remember watching the halftime show where they rolled out rolling ball show elements with Indiana jones grabbing the super bowl trophy instead of the idol. I thought it was awesome!!!
I got picked to be an "extra" in this show a few years ago...had a lot of fun doing it...after we were done our part they gave us water in a paper cup lol
Would love to know who holds the record for being an, "extra." I've been twice, but the were 10 years apart. Someone out there has to have an insane record.
I was casted as an extra a few years ago and it was literally the most confusing experience of my entire life. The sound was very clearly oriented torwards the bleechers and I still have no idea what happened or what I did during the show. Honestly, it doesn’t even matter, I CAN FOREVER SAY I WAS A PART OF IT AND THAT ENOUGH FOR ME 🎉
Love it! That’s just old school cool. Back when you paid for a ticket to entertainment. Nowadays, the majority of your time is waiting in line. Thanks for covering this!!!
Back in the 90s (I was 19 or 20), I got picked to be an extra. I was one of the "screamers". Back then I was able to let out this ear-shattering "wake the dead" shriek. I remember the "casting director" was all "Who was that?! GET HER UP HERE!!" It was a lot of fun to do. I got a photo of me somewhere on the stage, in costume.
I actually have a friend who played the German Mechanic back in like 2016. Great guy and gave me a small crash course in stage/screen combat I just realized that my friend is actually the demolitions expert at 12:49
It's not one attraction in particular, but I'd like to see you covering a Belgian Theme Park, I think we (as a country) are greatly overlooked when it comes to theme parks.
Can you please cover on two videos about the history of these two attractions at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida: Voyage of The Little Mermaid and The Hunchback of Notre Dame: A Musical Adventure?
Two major changes were done in the show, 1. The removed all Nazi symbols (obvious reasons) 2. When on the final roof they originally used a zip line down instead of jumping off the roof.
Oh this was quite the interesting experience right here. Now with Halloween season upon us, I am eager to see what you will cover this time that is scary and interesting.
Awesome! I caught your new video on my break. Cool! Hopefully one day we'll get Adventure Thru Inner Space, America Sings, Spaceship Earth, Journey Into Imagination, and even Muppet Vision 3D
Whenever I watched this show, I always tried to scan through the audience to look for the loudest-dressed person sitting there. 9 out of 10 times, that person was picked as an Extra and turned out to be the stuntman plant.
I went in 2019 and got to be an extra! Went again back in February of 2020 and I noticed that Indy didn’t come from the ceiling at the start and they didn’t do the truck exploding scene with Marion “inside” of it. I recall it being a somewhat windy day. Were they executing an alternate version due to said winds? The truck explosion I recall is staged as a pick up shot. I suppose they were concerned the wind might blow the smoke and fire in a direction they weren’t comfortable with controlling.
So my parents took my siblings and I to Disney for my 5th birthday. We went to Disney MGM. I, at the time, was afraid of everything including my shadow. I’ve been told that in the part where the boulder rolls out (iconic, I know)…… I got up from my seat…… and ran for the emergency exit, screaming that the boulder was gonna crush us all.
Phenomenal stuff man, this show is by far the best at Hollywood Studios and a personal favorite of mine, can you do Haunted Mansion next?!?!?! that would be insane that's the greatest dark ride in the world.
I have yet to go to Disney World but if I ever get the chance to go this is the show that I have to go check out everyone's been telling me to go check it out
The last time we saw it in 2019 one of the crew gave my daughter his lanyard with IJ Crew on it, very cool of them
That’s awesome!
That is awesome
I got a pair of the actors gloves and a signature I have proof imgur.com/gallery/4IdB4pv
This is one of the few shows that is truly timeless in my opinion, I hope this will stay in this theater for a long time

Since it's close to Halloween, how about a look back at the "Alfred Hitchcock: The Art of Making Movies" walkthrough at Universal Studios?
And don't forget Flight of Fear!

Well here’s hoping the stunt show can exist for 30 more years to come!!

Oh man, I SHOULD have included that somewhere in this video, what a missed opportunity!

Wow!
I remember being a part of the stunt show with my wife on our honeymoon in 2004.
This needs to come back!
My aunt and uncle often play the director and assistant during this show 🥰
This was a great feature of the old MGM. It was still fun as Hollywood Studios but not as cavalier as the original days. Great memories!
Mission: SPACE? When?
I'll be goddamned.... you finally did it
Thank you guys
You used so many clips from all kinds of shows! Thank you for helping us remember all of the people that make this show spectacular :D
