My family has a great story for this one. When the guide shined the blacklight at the secret message he said something like "Oooo there's no way out!" and immediately a few people left through the emergency exit and the room lit up from the sun. The entire group burst into laughter and even the guide was laughing as he went "oh no! The message has been erased! Wait-ok I can read it again".
@@LolaliciousSmiley um. Ok could be total coincidence, but when I was 8 in 03 my dad and stepmom dragged me with my siblings to it and I was terrified by the atmosphere and I don't remember if there was an exit sign or just a glint of light but I saw it and ran out the door as soon as the power went out in the beginning and they had to run after me. Poseidon’s Fury is an Underrated Great of IOA. As a theater kid, getting to play Taylor in Poseidon’s Fury was always a dream of mine. The theatrical effects of this attraction hold up to this day, and I would really hate to see this ride go.
@@carminecdinoproductions honestly when they dropped the mythology out of IOA in favor of HP it broke my heart, I love when rides mix mythology and fun
I can't help but admit, as cheesy as this thing is, I can't help but love Poseidon's Fury. It very much feels like a relic of non-IP-driven Universal, but that really gives it a massive charm and identity in the rest of the park as it is. Even if it's successor or replacement is fantastic, I'd honestly hate to see it go. Also Skyward Sword slander is NOT going to be tolerated, Jack, don't make me fight you on this. Lol
Poseidon's Fury is so goofy and fun, I absolutely adore this show. Taylor is always a hoot and I like the cheesy effects. My favorite part is where you walk through the water tunnel!
I unironically LOVED it when I visited. I'd never even heard of it before, and I thought it was so much fun and the effects were so impressive. The story was a little hokey, but it's a theme park show, not broadway. Plus I really appreciated having a major experience that wasn't another ride.
"12 weeks and a budget of $3." I lost it. LOLOL!! I never got to experience the original version of this attraction, but I did get to experience the revamp not long after it reopened. I had ZERO idea of what to expect. After the show was over, even though I thought the effects (especially the water vortex) were cool, my first thought was "What the eff did I just watch?" LOL!!

My family and I unironically love this attraction. When I lived down in Florida I made a point to make my friends who had never seen the show experience it. I’ll be crushed when/if it leaves the park, if not for the lone fact that the outside show building is incredible. Also, my favorite Taylor performance consisted of the guy reading the spell and saying, “that sounds like some sort of Black Sabbath lyric”
Most of the time I can’t sit through 20+ minuet videos… But yours are on a completely different level, I love them! I get so immersed into your story telling, and your visuals make it that much better! Thank you for your amazing work!
I don't recall ever seeing the original version of the ride, but I have extremely fond memories of the revamped show and going through all the cool effects. I LIKED Taylor and all their goofiness. :) And I really enjoyed the show too. I'm sorry to see that it's probably on its way out, but at least we'll always have the memories.
I did Poseidon’s Fury during a Universal visit back in around 2017. I remember enjoying it in from how campy it felt. I knew it wasn’t the best, but the whole vibe of the attraction was really interesting to me
I've been to Islands of Adventure twice in my lifetime (second time was this October) and both times this was closed for refurbishment. I know it's a polarizing attraction but I love Greek and Norse mythology so I was super bummed out to have missed it!
I used to be a "friend" of Taylor back in the day! It was such a fantastic time, and so many crazy stories! For example, If the kid that got picked as the volunteer for the show wasn't too scared. There's some scary moments in the show when the lights go out if your particular Taylor did it right. Some of the Taylor's took pride in getting some good jump scares in the show. We were allowed to let them hold the trident and have them run first into the water vortex when it activated. It was so cool to hype the kids up throughout the show if they were in to it and not too scared. By the end of the show, you show up again and celebrate, and it's so cool to see the volunteer actually run up and feel like a winner. Those were some amazing moments when everything in the show "goes right"... Good crowd, effects work, and pray to Poseidon that those walls fly each time! 😅 Thank you for making this! Keep up the good work. 🔱🧜♂🔱
Love your videos as always Jack! Can't wait for Shrek 4-D in a few weeks. I'm gonna miss it, my final time on it was a few days ago and I got 3 things from the gift shop to remember it
I think I understand now at least one reason why this hasn't reopened - walking with a group of strangers from smallish enclosed space to smallish enclosed space sounds a bit tricky during a pandemic.
When we went to IOA in 2018, we were standing in a long line at Poseidon's Fury and we were thinking about leaving. This kid in front of us told us that it was his favorite ride and we should stay, and we are so glad he said that because we ended up loving it. The water vortex was the coolest part, and it was create to enjoy a ride so much without specifically planning it in our day. I'd be super sad if they replace it, but I would also love a Hyrule themed park :)
I've been to to this park numerous times and never mind attending this attraction. If it leaves I will be sad to see it go, glad I experienced it so many times, also excited to see what comes! Great video, I love this channel.
Dude, this takes me back. As a kid, this show was one of the scariest and most badass shows I had ever seen! I got to see it one more time before it closed, and even if it's rather dated, it will always hold a special place in my heart.
I love this thing. Absolute must-do every time I was in Islands of Adventure. It helps that every time I've seen it, it's obvious a bunch of other people in the room love it, too, and we all get in on the interplay with the guide. It's obvious the guides love their job, too, it must be a blast. My favorite moment was, in retrospect, probably a minor technical error nearing the finale, when the walls took a little too long to open. The guide was taking suggestions for the magic phrase and of course we'd gone through the classics until one guy yells "Squiddly-diddly!" Dutifully, the guide raised his hands to the heavens and shouts, "Squiddly-diddly!" And the great, booming voice of Poseidon filled the room and said "NO."
First attraction I ever did. Way back pin 2011, my first Trip to universal. I said “the bad guy kinda looks like Ganondorf,” and a minute later he STOLE my joke and it got a few laughs.

The damn walk through broke down three times during my walk through. Our guide kept saying she was sorry but she it just kept going and I honestly had no idea what was going on.
Hookup friend?
Gotta say, the Vortex alone is worth getting in queue for this one. That shit always left me in awe
I’m so mad I never went in there! we never knew what the “ride” was when the park first opened so we never went inside 😹
I love the Water Temple music in the background 😁
Guys breaking news Just as we’d heard earlier this year, Shrek 4D and its gift shop are officially closing for good as of January 10, 2022. On top of the news that the Fear Factor Live show will not be returning as well,
I saw this when it first opened and I loved it it still holds up today wish they never changed the show and sad to see it go
So glad I got to experience this one last time in 2023.
Nice touch with the Ocarina of Time Water Temple music in the background!!
