The creator of this video absolutely glossed over that dude's actions and repeatedly said that he was being "polite". You can build your case against Gabbie's behaviour without minimizing her hurt.

As someone who actually has ADHD: Gabbie is actually harmful for the public perception of ADHD. Even though things have changed the standing idea of ADHD is still “little cis boy who can’t sit still in a classroom” and her erratic and hurtful behavior towards others with the label of “oh haha i just have ADHD” isn’t helping. She wants to be a good rep for people with ADHD without being a good person She wants to be seen as a good person without being one.
Yeah! I have ADHD and sometimes I can unintentionally hurt somebody bc I joke impulsively and some people sometimes find them offensive. Although I did not mean any harm I always apologize if I hurt anyone and take accountability for my actions no matter the intent. I can't imagine excusing yourself for hurting people by saying "haha I'm so ADHD" Even if you didn't intend any harm, you should own up to your actions.

As someone with ADHD, yes, I have done some impulsive crap I have since regretted. But seeing Gabbie use ADHD as an excuse to continuously harass people is so upsetting.
I don't have ADHD but looked into to it as a sort of general awareness of other mental health struggles/how to support etc, and not one thing I've read/heard about ADHD as a symptom is, "be a complete a**hole to others, harassing people, bullying people, ". Ugh. Even if it somehow magically was, or some other magical mental illness that explains away allllll the sh***y things she's done, it would only explain the behaviour, *not* excuse it.
(copying this from another comment I made) YES as someone with ADHD, her using it as a defense for verbally abusing people because 'that's how it works' is so insulting. We can suck at social cues and my ADHD can sometimes accidentally lead me to upset people. But if that happens, I own up to the hurt I caused, explain the misunderstanding, and work to avoid hurting people in the future. Creating a world where people accept our neurodivergencies should not mean accepting cruelty towards others, ESPECIALLY those who work 'below' you.

But I agree, as someone with diff mental health issues, it is SO destructive and harms the MH community in general, and in this case, people with ADHD, when people like Gabbi use it as a shield to protect themselves when being sh*tty, and it's even more upsetting/problematic when it's based on complete lies about the illness in question. Everything they are, and everything they do, they then turn it onto everyone else, making it seem as though they are stable, the victim, and everyone else are the disordered people. My least favorite part of Gabbie’s story was when she was dying out and not only blamed everyone else for her downfall, but she GUILT TRIPPED her ENTIRE AUDIENCE simply for not enjoying her drastically different content anymore.

i suggest watching brads taste in music’s video on her most recent album. every song is either her describing how she enjoys tearing people down emotionally, her going back and fourth between protecting and tormenting her partner, and just generally being vindictive and controlling while still having songs on how shes the victim. from a psychology standpoint its such a fascinating album to experience.
it’s interesting that she calls literally everyone and anyone a narcissist, when her behavior, her words and the way she’s handled things over the course of years and continues to handle things points more towards narcissistic symptoms in herself. she genuinely believes that she is always the victim, and can’t ever do any wrong

I dont know who she is really, is she truly diagnosed with adhd? It can often be confused with narcissism sometimes. I don't know her, but it could be a possibility considering she can't take accountability and the despair of the lack of attention?

Whether she has it or if something else is going on is irrelevant because she claimed ADHD specifically. Also I don’t know her personally and I’m not a mental health professional i can’t speak to whether or not it’s narcissism at play. I also wouldn’t want to. I don’t feel comfortable speculating on her mental health. She did some shitty stuff and she should take accountability and work on her future behaviour. (I hope this didn’t come off as argumentative. This is just my view on it. ☺️)

ADHD or not, it seems like she has many other psychological struggles that would make more sense to be the actual causes of this. This video reminded me of some Coffeehouse Crime videos, it feels just as disconnected from reality and sad to see someone this deep down in a hole. I hope she gets the help she really needs and finds some peace of mind and by default, giving the involved parties their so requested peace as well.

Every hint of criticism or someone disliking her is an instant trigger for her and conflicts with her own perspective of herself. She demands to be liked and lashes out if anything interferes with her own view of herself. The stuff she went through with the vlog squad was terrible and no one deserves that, but I feel as if it fueled her to spiral the way she’s done. The way she’s milking her wrongdoings/mistakes (and the criticism she’s received) doesn’t feel like her struggling with self hate, it’s a way to reinforce the picture of her as a victim to gain sympathy and support. That way she gets to feel liked, cared for and appreciated again, which is what she seeks from the outside world. What she’s done wrong doesn’t really matter, it’s all about the public agreeing with her own view of herself. Then she’ll be satisfied. Also not a health specialist, I’ve only had 2 courses of psychology which isn’t enough, but that’s the feeling I’m getting from this :’)

If anybody wants to check out, it is explained / shown in the character of Gail Wynand on The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand. The book is terribly problematic in many of its plots, characters and attitudes, but Wynan examplifies somebody at the top of their game who thought they are in control but actually they've just been feeding the worst in human nature, so when push comes to shove Wynand realised the public is in control. Nothing to prevent the public to stop buying his newspaper or as in Hanna's case, not following what she is doing.

Given her awful behavior and the genuinely vile things she's done to people, I have almost no empathy for her. But I agree about how hurtful it is to give her diet pills as a gag gift. That's just how people like that work. They don't change because they project instead of reflect upon themselves. Best to take it as a lesson to always allow yourself room to grow as a person instead of deflecting and projecting and blaming everything else on other people. Nothing is ever her fault, according to her. The way she talked about Rachel Oates was disgraceful, especially when you consider she sent one of the books to Rachel herself and invited her to review it. She drives people away with her behaviour and then cries when she is all alone.
It still pisses me off that Gabbie portrayed Rachel's videos about her books as unintelligent bullying when Rachel's videos were SO detailed and well thought out. She compared Gabbie's poems to other poems with similar themes, talked about why her poems didn't work, gave tips on how they could've been better, etc. Rachel's videos were VERY constructive and it just shows how much Gabbie can't take criticism that she thinks they're just bullying.

What really gets me about the whole poetry thing is that Gabbie didn't 't go after any creator who just made fun of her book but instead went after Rachel who is so sweet and has a passion for written art. Rachel analyzed and gave Gabbie tips on what would work better-she gave it an effort and Gabbie treated her horridly
When I watched Rachel’s video for the first time I did believe she was a bit too critical on it. Especially since it was Gabbie’s first poem book. I feel like Rachel critiqued her as more of a consumer of the book instead of a passive way like a teacher would to help their students grow and that sent Gabbie off. Gabbie’s response was over the top tho. And then on top of that, she sent her her 2nd book and cried harder then first time 🤦🏾♀️

I mean I’m not a Gabbie fan by any stretch of the imagination, but I’d be pretty damn stoked to have a NY Times best selling book under my belt, honestly. Just because it’s a “meaningless/useless title” doesn’t automatically mean it’s something an author wouldn’t or shouldn’t be proud of.
When I look at Gabbie Hanna, I see a woman who, deep down, actually really hates herself. She continually seeks out validation through whatever little bit of fame she can, hoping to find that miracle something so she can finally be happy. That includes starting drama with people to stay relevant; drama she can’t handle correctly because she’s so insecure with herself. It’s cliche but she’s never going to change until she can learn to love herself, move on from her past of being bullied and just be content with who she is. Unfortunately, social media fame only exacerbates this kind of behavior, in my opinion.
She absolutely does, I remember seeing her vines and it always bothered me that almost every vine she made was about how she was fat and gross or a somehow pathetic person and would think to myself, "This isn't really a joke to her", that she wanted validation from her fans cos she really disliked herself. I felt quite bad for her at first, less so now.
I had never even heard of the Vlog Squad or Gabbie bf she was already imploding, but clips from those old vids are really painful at times. Even if the skits were planned and she was aware of all the shit they were going to say, being the butt of the joke day after day could be hurtful to even self-confident ppl. And not to take any of the responsibility off her, I think the vlog squad experience really messed up her relationship with RUclips and social media in general. It gave her a skewed view of how to be successful, with a dash of serious victim complex over how she was treated in her earlier career. Her own insecurities and ego took it from there.

Agreed, she seems to have a HUGE problem with accepting at when she’s at fault (even if its something super small). Which from my experience (as someone who was like that too before) is that; If you can’t accept that you yourself can do something wrong, without ur entire self confidence being destroyed. The u never had self confidence to begin with, only an ego. Which is why people like her can never admit when they aren’t the victim for once. Because their entire “confidence” would be gone in a split second since it was never real to begin with. Which is further proof she probably does not like herself. I used to be like that too (a VERY MUCH milder version without a huge platform tho might i add-) and it is really true that when i started to like myself and accepting myself i also became a better person and could accept my many flaws and work on them. @Aspen I feel like dismissing negative behaviour as narcissism oversimplifies situations and also oversimplifies narcissism. It’s not just a synonym for “toxic” or for a person you hate. Trauma doesn’t excuse her behaviour but likely plays a pretty significant role because trauma does a lot to shape our ingrained responses to situations, making it hard to see reality for what it is.

She put herself in these situations by not reflecting on herself and watching herself and learning from mistakes. Being made fun of sucks, being insecure sucks, being depressed sucks. She made all this money and made friends she could have tried therapy if she was that traumatized that she lashed out at others and has been called out so many times and has had clarifications on her habits by others enough times to go get help to not trash her entire career. She has been caught in lie after lie after lie, she has been caught being aggressive towards others for nothing if trauma caused all of this she should have put herself on a break and gone to intensive therapy. Many people are traumatized and don't do half of the things gabbie has done.

@@RealEyesRealiseRealLies ADHD/ ADD is very much real and you can look at brain scans and see that people with adhd have different brain activity compared to a neural typical one, but when medicated each brain had the similar brain activity. So yes I’m medicated because I can literally feel a mental fog lift and I feel like I can function as a normal person. And yes many people with adhd can develop anxiety or depression along with the condition,but that’s usually because we grow up thinking we’re stupid because we can’t seem to focus compared to our peers.

However, I don’t think narcissism is “evil.” People with narcissism can do evil things, but not the disease itself. People need to receive help. I agree that people have made the mental disorder synonymous with evil. And that’s wrong. I do believe that Gabbie has narcissism due to her unstable behavior whenever she’s asked to take accountability and or take criticism, even when it’s constructive. I think Joey Graceffa is a good example of that. She refused to take accountability and she couldn’t handle the justified criticism as a result of her behavior.

Apologies are self motivated. Clearly she thought it was a group problem so everyone should take responsibility and follow her lead. But spite is more important to some than burying hatchets. Which she proved by continuing to talk on it publicly after it was dull and inert.
You apologize mostly for yourself, as closure and admittance that you did something wrong and to give closure to the people you have hurt. But like you said, for her it seems like it should be transactional. In a way, I understand why some people would be annoyed when others have not said sorry for the wrongs they have done towards you. (Which is probably what she meant) But that's honestly on them and you need to figure out how to move forward from that and better yourself despite it and not just keep harrassing people as a result.

The story of Icarus is a good reminder, but not a lot of people mention the whole thing. In the story the father does tell him not to fly too close to the sun, but ALSO not to fly too low lest the spray from the waves ruin the wings as well. Its not just a story of hubris, but a cautionary tale of extremes and how both can ruin your wings and cause you to fall. He chose high, but low would just as equally killed him. A good lesson in moderation and balance.

I think the whole industry, hell society encourages people making money to spend it in ways that seem necessary and then you have a life budget that requires that same income to sustain. About 5 years ago she did several videos ranting and trying to get a rental car agent fired for charging her the extra money she agreed to in her contract, related to the return of the car after a trip home for the holidays. She lost it on the next 3 videos, and was spewing such hate for this poor employee - I never watched again. I went to her channel to forget about the world and laugh for a few minutes. Graveyard Girl did the same thing. Their channels became their therapist and the comments started to get mean. We're all human - but you can't make content out of your mental breakdown and not ruin your successful career. A 6 month hiatus to recover and re-invent their channels, would have made all the difference. Cheers!!

Sorry you went through that. I am also a survivor and this video was hard to watch because the clips of Gabbie talking to people were extremely triggering. This is exactly how I was treated and talked to for most of my life and it is not okay. I completely believe the people who are saying she is harassing them and scaring them. It's scary knowing someone like this, because you will never get through to them. When you try to cut ties, they punish you relentlessly and harass you.
The little I have seen and know is that she is part of a group / type of RUclipsr who is very selfish and has an unhealthy need for attention. They all seem to have mental problems, because their behavior is far from normal and nothing a normal person does.

This was a very well done video. Whether a person is on RUclips or not, it's so easy to tie your identity to this outward image of who you think you are. Whether it's your job, a relationship, your families expectations etc and if that identity begins to lose admiration, you feel like it's a personal attack. Such a good reminder to self validate and not take outer circumstances as the be all, end all.

This is so insightful and as a Gen X er I ponder how difficult it is for youth today to navigate identity and self in light of social media. I quit Facebook when I realized it influenced my mood and relationships more than was healthy - and I had a largely positive experience. It’s sad and concerning to me that most people don’t even consider opting out.
This was a hard thing for me to learn how to accept. Like on one hand, I loved being me and I thought that I didn’t care what anyone thought. But if someone dared speak to me or about me (in a way that I would find out), I would get crushed. I had to do some major work on myself to address this. It’s still a work in progress.
That's a very good point. I had identified myself with my job, which I had managed to hold in different forms for 10 years, but it felt like the floor was falling out from under me. I'm still doing some freelance work that's in line with what I used to do, but I have a part-time job in a very different field, and I have struggled with feeling like I'm a failure because my career didn't work out the way I had hoped it would.
I notice several recurring themes here: -People wanting gabby to leave them alone but she continues to harass and rehash -Gabby doing awful stuff then excusing her behavior one way or another and then wondering why people don’t like her anymore - people mentioning that Gabby is insecure so acts out and blows things out of proportion
I feel like Gabbie really thinks her social media and everything she does and who she interacts with online is all her "real life". Like all these other RUclipsrs and influencers realize that social media is THEIR JOB, and can separate themselves from that and their "real life, but Gabbie really thinks that all the people who are her "friends" online are also her real life friends, and she needs to constantly update everyone (all her "friends") on *everything* that happens.
mmhmm. she’s based her entire identity around it (which is funny bc her content has never been anything particularly unique or good) and she cares much more about her online reputation and getting views than she’ll ever care about other people
i think it’d be different if she was talented and not a mean vindictive person. there’s nothing wrong with being online and having most of your life there. the problem is how she’s receiving criticism and the roadblocks in her career.

As someone with ADHD, yes, I have done some impulsive crap I have since regretted. But seeing Gabbie use ADHD as an excuse to continuously harass people is so upsetting.
I don't have ADHD but looked into to it as a sort of general awareness of other mental health struggles/how to support etc, and not one thing I've read/heard about ADHD as a symptom is, "be a complete a**hole to others, harassing people, bullying people, ". Ugh. Even if it somehow magically was, or some other magical mental illness that explains away allllll the sh***y things she's done, it would only explain the behaviour, *not* excuse it.

We can suck at social cues and my ADHD can sometimes accidentally lead me to upset people. Whether she has it or if something else is going on is irrelevant because she claimed ADHD specifically. Also I don’t know her personally and I’m not a mental health professional i can’t speak to whether or not it’s narcissism at play. I also wouldn’t want to. I don’t feel comfortable speculating on her mental health. She did some shitty stuff and she should take accountability and work on her future behaviour. (I hope this didn’t come off as argumentative. This is just my view on it. ☺️)

ADHD or not, it seems like she has many other psychological struggles that would make more sense to be the actual causes of this. This video reminded me of some Coffeehouse Crime videos, it feels just as disconnected from reality and sad to see someone this deep down in a hole. I hope she gets the help she really needs and finds some peace of mind and by default, giving the involved parties their so requested peace as well.

Every hint of criticism or someone disliking her is an instant trigger for her and conflicts with her own perspective of herself. She demands to be liked and lashes out if anything interferes with her own view of herself. The stuff she went through with the vlog squad was terrible and no one deserves that, but I feel as if it fueled her to spiral the way she’s done. The way she’s milking her wrongdoings/mistakes (and the criticism she’s received) doesn’t feel like her struggling with self hate, it’s a way to reinforce the picture of her as a victim to gain sympathy and support. That way she gets to feel liked, cared for and appreciated again, which is what she seeks from the outside world. What she’s done wrong doesn’t really matter, it’s all about the public agreeing with her own view of herself. Then she’ll be satisfied. Also not a health specialist, I’ve only had 2 courses of psychology which isn’t enough, but that’s the feeling I’m getting from this :’)

The book is terribly problematic in many of its plots, characters and attitudes, but Wynan examplifies somebody at the top of their game who thought they are in control but actually they've just been feeding the worst in human nature, so when push comes to shove Wynand realised the public is in control. Nothing to prevent the public to stop buying his newspaper or as in Hanna's case, not following what she is doing.

Given her awful behavior and the genuinely vile things she's done to people, I have almost no empathy for her. But I agree about how hurtful it is to give her diet pills as a gag gift. It kinda reminded me to that scene in spiderman FFH, when they show us the BARF emory from the villain's point and he remembers everyone laughing at him when in reality they didn't. Or that Game of Thrones scene, where Cersei walks away from Marjorie and the further she walks the louder their laugher is. They both felt humiliated and in their minds, the mockery was real and way bigger than it was in reality.

It still pisses me off that Gabbie portrayed Rachel's videos about her books as unintelligent bullying when Rachel's videos were SO detailed and well thought out. She compared Gabbie's poems to other poems with similar themes, talked about why her poems didn't work, gave tips on how they could've been better, etc. Rachel's videos were VERY constructive and it just shows how much Gabbie can't take criticism that she thinks they're just bullying.

When I watched Rachel’s video for the first time I did believe she was a bit too critical on it. Especially since it was Gabbie’s first poem book. I feel like Rachel critiqued her as more of a consumer of the book instead of a passive way like a teacher would to help their students grow and that sent Gabbie off. Gabbie’s response was over the top tho. And then on top of that, she sent her her 2nd book and cried harder then first time 🤦🏾♀️

When I look at Gabbie Hanna, I see a woman who, deep down, actually really hates herself. She continually seeks out validation through whatever little bit of fame she can, hoping to find that miracle something so she can finally be happy. That includes starting drama with people to stay relevant; drama she can’t handle correctly because she’s so insecure with herself.
It’s cliche but she’s never going to change until she can learn to love herself, move on from her past of being bullied and just be content with who she is. Unfortunately, social media fame only exacerbates this kind of behavior, in my opinion.

She absolutely does, I remember seeing her vines and it always bothered me that almost every vine she made was about how she was fat and gross or a somehow pathetic person and would think to myself, "This isn't really a joke to her", that she wanted validation from her fans cos she really disliked herself. I felt quite bad for her at first, less so now.
I had never even heard of the Vlog Squad or Gabbie bf she was already imploding, but clips from those old vids are really painful at times. Even if the skits were planned and she was aware of all the shit they were going to say, being the butt of the joke day after day could be hurtful to even self-confident ppl. And not to take any of the responsibility off her, I think the vlog squad experience really messed up her relationship with RUclips and social media in general. It gave her a skewed view of how to be successful, with a dash of serious victim complex over how she was treated in her earlier career. Her own insecurities and ego took it from there.
and none of that external validation means anything real unless you believe it too. i always detected hostility in gabbie, even if i was never a follower or just. generally very involved in the youtube celeb scene.
Agreed, she seems to have a HUGE problem with accepting at when she’s at fault (even if its something super small). Which from my experience (as someone who was like that too before) is that;
If you can’t accept that you yourself can do something wrong, without ur entire self confidence being destroyed. The u never had self confidence to begin with, only an ego. Which is why people like her can never admit when they aren’t the victim for once. Because their entire “confidence” would be gone in a split second since it was never real to begin with. Which is further proof she probably does not like herself.
I used to be like that too (a VERY MUCH milder version without a huge platform tho might i add-) and it is really true that when i started to like myself and accepting myself i also became a better person and could accept my many flaws and work on them.

@Aspen I feel like dismissing negative behaviour as narcissism oversimplifies situations and also oversimplifies narcissism. It’s not just a synonym for “toxic” or for a person you hate. Trauma doesn’t excuse her behaviour but likely plays a pretty significant role because trauma does a lot to shape our ingrained responses to situations, making it hard to see reality for what it is.

She made all this money and made friends she could have tried therapy if she was that traumatized that she lashed out at others and has been called out so many times and has had clarifications on her habits by others enough times to go get help to not trash her entire career. She has been caught in lie after lie after lie, she has been caught being aggressive towards others for nothing if trauma caused all of this she should have put herself on a break and gone to intensive therapy. Many people are traumatized and don't do half of the things gabbie has done.

So yes I’m medicated because I can literally feel a mental fog lift and I feel like I can function as a normal person. And yes many people with adhd can develop anxiety or depression along with the condition,but that’s usually because we grow up thinking we’re stupid because we can’t seem to focus compared to our peers.

However, I don’t think narcissism is “evil.” People with narcissism can do evil things, but not the disease itself. People need to receive help. I agree that people have made the mental disorder synonymous with evil. And that’s wrong. I do believe that Gabbie has narcissism due to her unstable behavior whenever she’s asked to take accountability and or take criticism, even when it’s constructive. I think Joey Graceffa is a good example of that. She refused to take accountability and she couldn’t handle the justified criticism as a result of her behavior.

That’s because apologies are not transactional; it’s not a two-way street. When you owe someone and apology, they owe you nothing in return. Any turmoil that results from that is self-inflicted.
Apologies are self motivated. Clearly she thought it was a group problem so everyone should take responsibility and follow her lead. But spite is more important to some than burying hatchets. Which she proved by continuing to talk on it publicly after it was dull and inert.

You apologize mostly for yourself, as closure and admittance that you did something wrong and to give closure to the people you have hurt. But like you said, for her it seems like it should be transactional.
In a way, I understand why some people would be annoyed when others have not said sorry for the wrongs they have done towards you. (Which is probably what she meant) But that's honestly on them and you need to figure out how to move forward from that and better yourself despite it and not just keep harrassing people as a result.

I especially liked the "Dying Channel" section for showing the fundamental way she misunderstood what was going on with the decline in views- your explanation of her change of genres, and then the stark contrast of her diatribe of her "shadow banning" and how she put all this time and money into what was basically a failed business strategy, but then her reaction amounting to HOW DARE EVERYONE NOT LOVE HER. So incongruous!

Then Gabbie not only doesn’t listen to the criticism Rachel’s given, but she then goes on to harass Rachel, misrepresent Rachel’s critiques, and sics what’s left of her fans on her in an attempt to bully her off of her platforms.
It’s my firm belief that the only reason Gabbie heard out Curtis and not Rachel was because Curtis was trying to discredit Jessi. And even if Jessi was Gabbie’s friend as the time, so long as Curtis wasn’t coming for Gabbie specifically, she couldn’t give a shit.

Gabbie (and Jimmy Snow, a commentator who, according to him, used to be incredibly close friends with Rachel until he chose Gabbie over her) accuses Rachel of not being constructive with her criticism and even if that were true, which it’s not, constructive criticism isn’t something Gabbie is entitled to.
The story of Icarus is a good reminder, but not a lot of people mention the whole thing. In the story the father does tell him not to fly too close to the sun, but ALSO not to fly too low lest the spray from the waves ruin the wings as well. Its not just a story of hubris, but a cautionary tale of extremes and how both can ruin your wings and cause you to fall. He chose high, but low would just as equally killed him. A good lesson in moderation and balance.
As unfunny as Gabbie herself is, that one vine of Alx James being like "whoever told you you should be a singer is not your friend" got a big snort out of me.

I think the whole industry, hell society encourages people making money to spend it in ways that seem necessary and then you have a life budget that requires that same income to sustain. You have to fire your three assistants, who are your friends, meanwhile your financial advisor has been siphoning money. Even plebs such as us have pressure to get a better phone or 'dress' for the job we want. It takes maturity of a rare sort to ignore that. Not likely possible for someone so hinged on attention.
This is a side note I guess, but the more I learn about David Dobrik, the more weirded out I am. This is the part that really gets me - if she made a video about how poorly she was treated by the vlog squad I don't think there's any objective person who'd disagree. Heck, I don't like her at all anymore but she really was the one being hurt in those situations and it was disgusting. Yet she's latched onto all of these other incidents with people who really never did anything to her and it's just.. wild honestly. gabbie's downfall is and always will be her pathological need to have the last word, even when she's DEAD wrong. her incessant need to hash things out and revisit them is what brought so much attention to issues that could have been resolved with a sincere apology and respectful silence and she could have saved her career. look at her now - no sane successful person, influencer or partner or brand will want to work or associate with her ever again.

Just found your channel and I subbed You handled this very tastefully, and without trying to attack Gabbie. About 5 years ago she did several videos ranting and trying to get a rental car agent fired for charging her the extra money she agreed to in her contract, related to the return of the car after a trip home for the holidays. She lost it on the next 3 videos, and was spewing such hate for this poor employee - I never watched again. I went to her channel to forget about the world and laugh for a few minutes. Graveyard Girl did the same thing. Their channels became their therapist and the comments started to get mean. We're all human - but you can't make content out of your mental breakdown and not ruin your successful career. A 6 month hiatus to recover and re-invent their channels, would have made all the difference. Cheers!!

Sorry you went through that. I am also a survivor and this video was hard to watch because the clips of Gabbie talking to people were extremely triggering. This is exactly how I was treated and talked to for most of my life and it is not okay. I completely believe the people who are saying she is harassing them and scaring them. It's scary knowing someone like this, because you will never get through to them. When you try to cut ties, they punish you relentlessly and harass you.
The little I have seen and know is that she is part of a group / type of RUclipsr who is very selfish and has an unhealthy need for attention. They all seem to have mental problems, because their behavior is far from normal and nothing a normal person does.
That's one of my biggest issues with her. She just constantly threw out buzzwords at people to try to make them "awful people" while completely ignoring her own actions. She's just a gross person.

This was a very well done video. Whether a person is on RUclips or not, it's so easy to tie your identity to this outward image of who you think you are. Whether it's your job, a relationship, your families expectations etc and if that identity begins to lose admiration, you feel like it's a personal attack. Such a good reminder to self validate and not take outer circumstances as the be all, end all.

This is so insightful and as a Gen X er I ponder how difficult it is for youth today to navigate identity and self in light of social media.
I quit Facebook when I realized it influenced my mood and relationships more than was healthy - and I had a largely positive experience. It’s sad and concerning to me that most people don’t even consider opting out.
This was a hard thing for me to learn how to accept. Like on one hand, I loved being me and I thought that I didn’t care what anyone thought. But if someone dared speak to me or about me (in a way that I would find out), I would get crushed. I had to do some major work on myself to address this. It’s still a work in progress.
That's a very good point. I had identified myself with my job, which I had managed to hold in different forms for 10 years, but it felt like the floor was falling out from under me. I'm still doing some freelance work that's in line with what I used to do, but I have a part-time job in a very different field, and I have struggled with feeling like I'm a failure because my career didn't work out the way I had hoped it would.
I notice several recurring themes here:
