- We planned to upload this episode last night but that DLSU vs UE game was too crazy so we had to upload a separate episode for that.
To recap Week 2 of UAAP Season 87, we're bringing back one of our favorite segments: "This or That." There were lots of exciting games and we tried our best to touch on every game. In addition, of course we're picking our #GatoradeBallers of the week as there were a lot of stellar performances (and not just in men's basketball).

For Ateneo, Gamber should give more minutes, we see him a resemblance of Larry Fonacier, slim and 3 point shooter.
For DLSU, give more minutes also for Vhoris Marasigan as we see him like Joseph Yeo 🥷 same with Austria like Ryan Araña angas. Hope he will be back soon on Round 2.
For FEU, yes, it takes time to learn the triangle and once they learn, it will be dangerous in the future
For UAAP schedule, hope they will change it in a second round. Marami na nagrereklamo and sana nakarating na sa management 😂 they should learn from NCAA starts by 12pm and ends by 5pm. So hopefully, 2pm and 4pm like studio23 😂
And very late at 9pm is bad especially for the students na papasok tomorrow. And we know it’s dangerous for women commuting outside by 10pm.

They have find ways to shorten the game, 2 hrs plus is too long. They need to remove TV time out, its just for $$$$$, its even a momentum breaker.
Also the cringe yamaha segment xD but I agree on the TV Timeouts. First time I encountered was from the DLSU-UE game. Kinda irks me that some sponsors are interrupting actual game time.
Agree. There are other ways to get sponsors integrated into the game without disrupting the actual flow of the game

I saw the game live and the boys possessed a different aura. ADMU wanted to win. Idk if Koon coming back had an effect but yeah, they showed that they didn't want to go down 0-4. Adamson was caught off-guard that hungry young boys were trying to outdo them yet tamed these boys on the last quarter. Was it luck? Wouldn't say pure luck but ADMU did invest enough cusion to get the W. 😊
Whatever it is, a win is a win hehe 🦅
Sabi nga ni Coach Tab before the season: this is the hungriest team he 's ever coached. I can see why. They're young but they definitely want to prove themselves. This is a team that the Ateneo community can get behind

As usual, great episode, guys. And here's a suggestion. Is it possible for you guys to do a pre- and post-game podcast live from the stadium? A bit like Inside the NBA. Might UAAP allow it? For quicker reactions to games. Potential player interviews. Kristian Porter was a beast on the boards. Ateneo is always wanting in rebounds. Have to shoot well and force turnovers to win.
Maybe in time if we become big. Lol! We were supposed to do this for PinoyLiga actually, hope we get the opportunity to do this eventually. -Maui

Maganda pinakita sa defense ng Ateneo sa First 3 quarters IMO, kaya lang medyo nagising AdU sa 4th but too late na. I hope they work on finishing the games strong even if they're on a winning situation. For DLSU, Malas talaga sila last night, and they simply lost the game. DLSU had an off night, and sadyang uminit ang UE sa 3 pts. So basically Talo is Talo, it's not about the loss, it's about how DLSU will respond after that, yan ang mas importante. So FEU, be ready for a major DLSU bounce back game. For UE, it's all about how they can sustain the momentum after winning 2 straight games, their next game is against NU and I expect they maximize Momowei more and gumana ulit 3pt shooting nila hehe.

Guys the team is very young, they will have good and bad quarters. Consistency takes time to build.
On Sean you should give him some slack. It’s easy to give your accounts of the game from the sidelines especially when you are only speculating the roles of each player. Ateneo plays a collective brand of basketball on both ends of the court. Just like professionals we as fans feel players could have taken shots when they are free. But the reality is that we are not on court with them and we don’t feel the pressure and we don’t know the instructions given to them by coaches. So guys give them some slack!!! 😅
We have consistently been preaching patience with this Ateneo team. Since the preseason even. You won't find three people who have tried more to ease up on the expectations on this young Ateneo team.
Yes, of course we don't know the inner workings of any team. No one aside from those inside team know about it. However, that doesn't mean we, or any fan for that matter, cannot comment on what we see on the court. Speculation is what podcasts and shows like Inside the NBA do so we don't understand why Ateneo is exempted from that 😂
All professional football (soccer) leagues across Europe, NBA, MBA and other sports leagues start on time, like right on the dot.
Diba?! There’s something wrong when we’re starting the 2nd game 1 hour late 😅
Another reason why games are so long is sobra ninipis ng tawag ng fouls ng refs. And this is not just in the men's basketball. Even in the women's games the calls are a bit tight and if it is shooting fouls, free throws can last for 1 to 2 minutes.
Calls will always be inconsistent thats for sure. Sana they lessen TV timeouts esp if teams call a timeout near it (5 min mark of quarters). Also the review of plays have to be a lot faster. Last 2 mins of games can talk as long ad 30 mins for a tight game. -Maui

They did what was expected of them as the clear favorites this season. And both of their games were blowouts haha. Mas maganda yung ibang games

We talk about JD all the time. But with UP games its generally been onsided so far. So not much to say really? For sure we’ll talk about them more if they have a competitve game. Tsumempo lang din this weekend all 3 games were nailbiters. -Maui

Hahhaaha! Makes sense. Basta decent game we’ll talk about them. If its a blowout most likely we’ll talk up more the players than the team in general. Its been too one sided so far with UP just overwhelming team with their talent and depth. -Maui
After this loss of DLSU, do you think we will have a step ladder playoffs?
Will need to see DLSU vs UP first. But if they start this poorly vs UP I dont think they’ll beat them. UP has been playing on another level. -Maui
@@bolerosph Also, UP has to play first the potential 3rd Seed UST. I think the guards of UST can handle the trapping defense of UP because of Padrigao's experience in playing and winning against UP in the Finals at that

UP is playing on another level, heads and shoulders above everyone else. I hope they keep this grit and momentum all the way!
quitevis is arguably the most underrated guard in the UAAP right now. doesnt make mistakes bullstrong.

Come ‘on guys! It’s not right and fair to say ateneo was lucky because adu had a bad q1. You need to give admu credit for playing good defense and also running their offense better. They were definitely out hussling a sluggish and disorganized adu team. Give the players and coaches credit they deserve who work hard to entertain and give fans a good game.
In fairness to ateneo, despite the talent disparity vs teams like up and DLSU, they always put up a good fight.
Ateneo is not a great team but it’s not inferior to a team like Adamson who’s coach was ready with a post game script about poor officiating.
I think “lucky” can be used in a game like the championship of up vs ateneo. 😉

However, I have to respectfully disagree, sir. Ateneo had a lot of lucky breaks in this game. We described a lot of them in the episode. Their 4th quarter was atrocious and if a few more Adamson shots had gone in, Ateneo could have lost - Gab
