Parity is overrated. This is sports. Everyone is actively trying to win. The PBA sucks because there are several teams not actively trying to win. The 80s NBA were dominated by 2 teams. The 90s were dominated by one team. Yet it was during the Bird, Magic, and MJ eras that the NBA has truly gone global. What a league needs for popularity is a good storyline. What parity should be is “parity in effort” and not parity in result. Blackwater and Terrafirma don’t have to be winning championships. They just don’t have to be actively trying to suck.
I don't agree. Parity is not overrated. Parity is necessary to sustain interest from fans and fanbases, especially from those of "weaker" teams. I agree with you that unlike the PBA, every team in the UAAP is at least trying to compete/win. But what keeps fans and fanbases (from "weaker" teams) coming back to buy tickets and watching games on TV/streaming is hope. Hope that the team, despite being outmatched, can pull off a win. It's part of the beauty of sports When teams like DLSU and UP are blowing teams out by 30pts, what do you think happens to that hope? It dwindles and fans eventually stop caring. I saw it already in NU last Wednesday. Barely any crowd to support their team and NU has championship aspirations. "Ay wag na tayo manood. Matatalo naman tayo" - Gab
It’s hard for JD to win MVP kasi pag tambakan na sure na sure na di na babad yan. KQ and Topex are different kasi babad pa din sya kahit tambak like their last game when he really hunted for the triple double. 🤣
Totoo yan. And tamabakan ulit yung FEU game. In reality, mvp caliber talaga si JD. Probably the best pg in the UAAP. Pero stats-based ang MVP so it’s hard for him to win if tatambakan nila lahat ng kalaban haha
I hope so. I'm kinda hoping UST or FEU can rise again. UST is bringing in the talent (and money haha) and FEU has a good young core (na pinagmumukha kaming Bolero ngayon hahahaha) - Gab
Was league parity an issue for you guys when Ateneo was lording it over the UAAP a few seasons back? Or does it only become a concern when mighty Ateneo is at 0-3? You missed a talking point - the disparate ways DLSU and UP beat NU. 3 vs 27. Very telling. We now have a very clear frontrunner.
UP just had a good game against NU. Its all about the match ups. Remember last game, UP had a difficulty against UE and Precious Momowei. So lets see..... Unlike Ateneo when they were dominant all season long. Season 86 UP won a blowout in the first finals game but lost the next two with Malik pa
Sayang si Remogat at Stevens, they would have been in line with former UE Legends. But I guess it's the dilemma of being the big fish in a small pond or the average fish in the large ocean. Which situation will take you to your goal, be it Final Four, Championship, or the Pro.
Dlsu willl struggle tbh espcially if UP has this box in defense on KQ The Depth at PG is the biggest question. Ramiro is no JD for sure. This is where dlsu Will Miss Poli din as a 3rd scoring option.
Depends on who you ask, i guess? There are some who consider him the next big star of PH basketball and he's pro ready already. For me, as i have said in past episodes already, he still needs a bit more polish in his skills. He relies too much on his athleticism. There was a reason he decided to go to the UAAP instead of going pro immediately - Gab

It's part of the beauty of sports
When teams like DLSU and UP are blowing teams out by 30pts, what do you think happens to that hope? It dwindles and fans eventually stop caring. I saw it already in NU last Wednesday. Barely any crowd to support their team and NU has championship aspirations.

Pero stats-based ang MVP so it’s hard for him to win if tatambakan nila lahat ng kalaban haha
it's UP and LaSalle's time ngayon, in a few years may uusbong rin sa mga yan, jusko Ateneo pa. it's not gonna be a PBA 2.0
Yes it was actually. We just didn't have a podcast then
And yeah, we've called UP the clear favorite/frontrunner since the preseason so nothing has changed really
They were the front runner last season but ended up as a disaster
@@henrymiller5464 tama haha - bilog ang bola - baka madiskaril ulit - hyped masyado kc kaya ang sakit pag natalo....
Jusko UP yan na naman kayo ha, baka pagdating sa finals maubusan ulit tyo nyan. 😂
Let's see. Third time maybe the charm for them
Alter was a -7. Dude really just can’t keep up unfortunately. So if he’s not getting minutes, i get it.
Hard to judge him based on garbage minutes
It was a different story in the preseason. He was sometimes the best big among the three
@@bolerosphagree. Perhaps better for him if he transfers to NCAA instead :)
Agree. Especially with the new residency/eligibility rule in place
POV Boleros: What do you think would be the success rate of a UE team with Momowei, Stevens, Galang, Lingolingo & Remogat?
Bro, Final Four yan. For sure. They were only a few games away from it last season. So imagine more time together and a capable back up pa in Stevens
Sayang si Remogat at Stevens, they would have been in line with former UE Legends. But I guess it's the dilemma of being the big fish in a small pond or the average fish in the large ocean. Which situation will take you to your goal, be it Final Four, Championship, or the Pro.
What did I say that may be offensive to anyone?
Why the comment Sir Earl? Did YT restrict you? We’ve missed your comments. Lol -Maui
Derecho finals nalang dlsu-up tas best of 7 para mas masaya lol. Phl arena para mas marami makanood live
Wag naman. Malay mo may surprises na mangyari
@@bolerosph
Least likely may surprises pa. Perhaps sa 3rd and 4th spots. Pero top 2/finals, dlsu-peyups uli yan
early reaction 🎉
Thank you to UP for ending the game by the first half 😂
Dlsu willl struggle tbh espcially if UP has this box in defense on KQ
The Depth at PG is the biggest question. Ramiro is no JD for sure.
This is where dlsu Will Miss Poli din as a 3rd scoring option.
Abangan na lang talaga ang DLSU-UP on Oct 6 haha
Is Lebron Lopez overated?
Depends on who you ask, i guess? There are some who consider him the next big star of PH basketball and he's pro ready already.
For me, as i have said in past episodes already, he still needs a bit more polish in his skills. He relies too much on his athleticism. There was a reason he decided to go to the UAAP instead of going pro immediately - Gab
This game is so boring to watch.
