I was 12 when this arrived in theaters. My father brought me and one of my friends' to the local theater. At the ticket booth my dad tells the attendant "I give them permission to see Child's Play 3." Tickets were sold to us and my dad went outside and waited in the parking lot. HAHA! Fond memory. This channel's content is so much fun for myself.

I really think the first two Child Plays are some of the better late 80's early 90's horror movies. They have great atmosphere, unique kills, and Brad Douriff is incredible as Chucky.

I always laugh when people say "i wouldnt be afraid of Chucky". Sure, obviously an adult would be able to kick Chucky's ass. But that's completely dismissing the existential dread that would come from Chucky actually existing. It would completely turn your reality upside down. It would prove the existence of the soul as well as voodoo/black magic.
Most people also tend to forget that Chucky has the strength of an adult human being like we talk about in the episode. You are totally right though, there's a reason the Puppet Master series and Demonic Toys are so effective; they may be small, but they are out to get you! -Sean
When I was a kid I wanted a Chucky toy that talked so bad. Probably for the best I didn't get one, on the off chance it gets struck by lightning and tries to kill me.
Just make sure you don't leave it too close to Brad Dourif and you're probably good.
I don’t feel qualified to weigh in... But my sister and I liked Bride of Chucks where Chucks gets lucky

Child’s Play 3 was the first horror film I ever saw as a kid and the first chucky film I ever saw so I definitely love it even if I know it’s mostly nostalgia bias.
I know I'm tracing through the back catalogue as a patron, but the last two added some great campy shit. I don't like the show. I did get annoyed by bride and seed, but having that head in the safe, whoah!!!!
My favourite franchise, love them all except Cult.

I really think this one is super underrated and whenever anyone says its the worst I get a bit upset because it's really not, like has anyone that ever said that ever seen Seed or Curse or Cult???? I thought Cult was boring as shit at times same with the Remake. No offense to those that liked those. And look I know 3 isnt the best either, nowhere near since 2 probably is the best next to the first one but I always thought it was the last good Chucky movie imo although I do like Bride. Love your guys review and really love you guys! Keep it up! I want to see you guys rip on Seed eventually lol

Child's Play 2 I really like. First one always felt like a missed opportunity to me. 3 is underrated. The rest is crap.

@@MovieDumpster I remember that one being a bit forgettable, though Jennifer Tilly was good in it. So is Brad Dourif, but I mean, he's good in anything he's in.
Honestly, I think Child's Play 3 is genuinely pretty good. Interesting premise, good kills (the heart attack scene, lol) and pretty good acting, though the characters are nothing spectacular.
The first time I saw the film I was disturbed by the scene where Chucky is loading the rifles with real bullets while laughing. That was such an anti-social thing to do, making those kids shoot each other. Chucky in general always felt to me more real as a nasty person compared to all the other 80's slasher film villains. Like, I can imagine Charles Lee Ray being in some true crime documentary much more than Freddy Krueger. Brad Dourif knows how to play the angry psycho character really well and I always felt it was a shame that Chucky never became human again in one of the sequels. I imagine the character would be far more dangerous and evil in human form and it would be a cool climax to see him chase Andy around or something as a regular dude.
I would love to see you guys do an episode on Seed of Chucky. It's quite a funny movie (mainly because of Jennifer Tilly), though very uneven and it has absolutely nothing to do with horror anymore.
Anyway, keep up the good work! I'm going through your back catalogue as I'm relatively new listener and I love your stuff.
I legit enjoy 3 as well! You should give Bride another chance, it starts dipping into a territory I don’t care for, but you can’t go wrong with Ronny Yu and Kevin Yagher.
Maybe way down the line we’ll do Seed. It’s just aggressively not for me.
