I spent a year in Thailand and found the Thai people Warm, Friendly, willing to help in all ways. They are the most loving, and caring people I have ever known.
Me and my brother were visiting Bangkok. It was the evening. We were heading back to our condo when BOTH our phones were dying. This woman kindly escorted us from the station down the roads and taking the weird mini truck that goes from just past the main road and down the narrow windy streets that taxis don't go. She was even worried we would be charged too much. But we were tired and we didn't care. I wish we could have bought her a meal or something. So kind. I am still shocked that people leave their helmets on their scooters and go away and it is still there when you come back. At a foodcourt people put their bag, food or umbrella on the table and go off and get food and drinks and it is safe. The number of dental clinics and plastic surgery is insane. There is practically a dentist clinic on every street.

I recognize the food court at Paragon Mall. Good stuff but often hard to find a seat. There are so many good restaurants outside the food court as well
Just returned from 2 week trip, loved it. Re. Food, one thing we found, regardless of whether a dish is advertised as a starter/appetiser, and you order as such.; your food is going to appear when it's ready; in any order.! Not a complaint and we learnt to just go with it lol!

The 2nd point is very accurate, i have a thai chinese colleague she told me they wont go to touristy places in BKK like iconsiam, MBK, Chinatown etc. as a locall they do know where to visit where hardly any tourists have ever been to.

I love Thailand and the people .. My Thai friend says it's very difficult for a Thai person to get a Visa to the USA. Maybe that's why don't travel much overseas .
As Thai people, i think differntly, we always visit others countrys to explore new experience. You can see how many Thai tourists visit Japan, south korea etc.😅😅
The fact that most Thais like to travel locally is mainly due to the spending power. Thai household's debts are one of the highest in the world right now at about 90% GDP, much more than during pre-covid about 85%. When you have very little spare cash but heavily in debt, let alone travel abroad, travel for recreation in the country is already a luxury. For this reason, Thai govt initiates Thai Travel Thai campaign 4 times already since Covid by subsidizing 40% of hotel and meal to stimulate local economy. Even though Thai middle class are rising over the decades, they are still in very small minority that could afford to travel abroad due to heavy debts taking car/house loans. My sister who is teaching/treating patients in a leading medical school only takes holiday abroad after working for 20+ years when she has already paid off her house loans. I only took holiday abroad only once in my life before I retire as my work allowed me to visit a few countries over the years. When I retire and have enough money even to go abroad every year, there is just no urge now as RUclips provides good vista for all places in all countries to see. Why pay and tire yourself when you can do a better view via RUclips.
Although this video is interesting, I am not sure if everything that is said is true. E.g. Was most information gathered from interviews with Thais? Did he get his views from a wide circle of Thai friends? Were they from various segments of Thai society? This particular video might have a higher entertainment value than as a credible source of information.
Thai pple are very lucky to be able to travel within your beautiful own country as your country is big and hve natural waterfalls,mountains..But Singapore is SO small as compared to Thailand.
"Many Thais don't know how to swim." Living here in Hawai'i (O'ahu), I have met quite a few people that were born & raised here on a not that big of an island and they don't know how to swim.
13. Many Thai people, when they go for a ride with BTS Or MRT, they wait for a long time to get a ticket at the machine instead of buying a card and walk straight to the gate. And this every day.
Those are people who are not regular BTS commuters. So, they just buy the ticket on those rare occasions. But if you're students or office workers then it's better to buy rabbit cards, cheaper in the long run and more convenient.
I try to visit Thailand every year, the people are really proud of their country,. I met a normal lady in Pattaya, she took great pride in showing me the sights in the area and I enjoyed her company. We message each other daily and I will be booking for next year soon. We intend to go further afield on the next trip. I feel honored to have such a good friend

According to the studies on obesity rates by ASEAN, Thailand ranked 2nd in S.E. Asia for the most people with obesity (Malaysia is # 1).

I've never understood this. My Rabbit and MRT card saves me so much time in queues, especially in busy BTS stops!
