IMO what she did was so natural, no stage gimmicks .I understand what you want is important for you , but I am sure many angels enjoy the way she "acting" normal. That's what many of us like about her.

Thanks for your reaction! She is only 17 years old today and from Norway. She signed with the label Republic Records just 14 years old, I think we can safely leave the promotion to Republic Record. Marketing will start when her full album is released later this year. There's only one EP with 6 songs she's released from RR now, and they haven't started marketing until the full album is released!. Republic Records know 100% what they are doing? I think a lot of people don't realize how much Angelina has done in her short life (17). She performed FIFA AWARD song, and performed in front of 40 000 people only 11 years old invited by Norah Jones. She was also specially invited by Quincy Jones to perform on his 85th birthday in the O2 arena / London. And so on goes the list... She has over 250 songs on RUclips with cover songs and many originals. Angelina also plays piano and guitar.
Angelina's album is to drop "In The Fall" ( comments said in the spring) October is fall, November and December is technically called winter. It will either drop in the next few days, or they will wait until Angelina turns 18 in January. No longer do we hear her say "Coming Soon", so at least she knows what is happening

I suspect that Angelina is a musical savant, that the music comes from her subconscious, and in some ways her conscious self is along for the ride (kinda like the rest of us, but she gets performances on-demand and has the best seat in the house).
I say this because I (and other observers do also) find two unique personas in Angelina’s videos. 1) an age appropriate awareness and reaction before and after she starts singing, and this reappears occasionally during long instrumental sections between verses; and 2) ‘the singer’, the vocal artist who has an absolute control and mastery of the moment.
(At an older age with more experience, she may be learning to embody them both simultaneously or to switch between them at will while singing. She seems to pop out for a moment while directly engaging individuals in the audience.)

Bro, I understand that you are a performance coach and not a vocal coach. I have watched all your reactions to Ms. Angelina Jordan since Million Miles and I am still subscribed to your channel. She has stated that when she sings she goes to a special place. That place is peace and love. I believe that she is talking about an altered state of consciousness and that she want us to experience that with her if we are open to it. She said that she wants to sing for the
World and spread love and peace. So if she would focus on every physical aspect of her performance it might take her away from that special place. When I was 12 years old my abuelita died. We has a rosary for her. Preforming the rosary were mostly women and children. I was there. We recited the rosary in Spanish. It got intense. It was my first experience in an altered state of consciousness. I felt a sense of peace, love , and harmony. Almost everyone felt the same way because at the end I heard a soft wow and I saw smiles and wonder on
the faces of most of my familia. I believe that this is her mission and why she was blessed with her gifts. She has already affected many lives with her singing and her life. 🙂🖖

This is one of my favorite songs from Angelina. I understand that you are an acting coach or performance coach, so you look at this from a performance standpoint. That’s never been important to me when I watch Angelina sing. One of the things I really like about Angelina is that she’s really not a performer-she’s a singer. I see her feeling the emotion of what she’s singing through her voice, and I see her focus is inward. She’s even said that she goes into her own special place when she sings. I don’t think she needs to sell what she’s singing by adding gestures or expressions.
Angelina consistently brings the lyrics to life with her interpretative skill and her incredible arrangements. I’ve said, and many others have said, that they never really understood the meaning of Yellow Brick Road until they heard Angelina sing it. The same is true of many of her songs: Suspicious Minds, Bohemian Rhapsody, A Million Years Ago, and many others. I don’t think her songs need performative gestures or expressions. She gives me more with just her voice than any other singer I’ve ever heard.

Angelina's stagecraft and physical expression was still spotty here, but has really grown since. Wonderful reaction! The truth is that within a year or two she will be the artist for the big occasions. and not a "bare belly plastic artist" who tops a list for a week and is forgotten just as quickly. She already eats most female vocalists for breakfast, and the label Republic Records and the rest of the music industry know that too! Angelina Jordan has nothing to prove. When she sometimes belts is it because the fits in the performances. She sings to us only she can do!

Interesting coaching point. The tight focus we often see on a singer's face on a performance video conveys an emotional intimacy that an audience doesn't often get in live performance. I'd love for you to review Bohemian Rhapsody, Angelina at age 13. I don't need the "shock" reaction of seeing her perform this for the 1st time. I'm interested in what she did well. Different, etc.
You gave a very informative reaction and analysis. You were very kind to provide praise and constructive criticism. Non of us are perfect but striving to be as close as possible is the signs of strong character. Non of us can do that just by looking at ourselves. That where constructive criticism comes in. The ability to accept and learn from that is the sign of a true professional. Granted that never means they have to make changes for every criticism/suggestion. The important thing is to listen, and give what you hear careful consideration.
For me, one of the amazing abilities that Angelina has, which is something, I love about her performances is that she seems to almost two different people when she sings performs. One the very talented, emotionally connected story teller, while she is singing. The other is the sweet humble loving Angelina that smiles, waves, and interacts with her audience during her the singing breaks in the song. I have never witnessed anyone with her ability to switch back and forth so smoothly. I lol forward to your future reactions and or just analysis, in the event you have seen the performance. I always thought she was deliberately stopping at that point so she could change the mood of what she was going to sing next (the aspirating, soft portion). She even swallowed or looked like she swallowed and bobbed her head before singing the last part.
I'm so sick of toxic AJ "fans". Any true fan of AJ would never spew the likes of what I've seen in comment sections because we'd never want to create negativity in relation to her positive light. She's an inspiration to her real fans, and we should all strive to spread love, unity, and understanding everywhere. They'd be embarrassed if AJ saw how they behave when they berate and insult anyone who doesn't word word things exactly like they want.
What they fail to understand is they actually push people away from the barefoot angel with their behavior. Not just reactors that get sick of the venom, but other potential followers seeing her and her fanbase for the first time via reactor. I've seen both happen, it's unacceptable. And her true fans have to start standing up and loudly sharing the positivity and love she promotes to all (not just those who think 100% exactly like us). Drown out the negative.
We have to remember we do in a small way represent her, and strive to be the type of person that she'd be proud to call her fans.

I completely agree in principle but, although I watch many reaction videos and look over the comments, in all honesty I have seen very little of the negativity you refer to... the great majority of Angelina's fans strike me as consistently and remarkably positive and polite.

But I found out not long ago that other fans of other artists (I know which fans but I won't say) are coming in AJ reactions and commenting negative comments, but they are not AJ fans. I found this out by checking all negative comments always and who sent them, and lucky enough I saw a pattern and wrote down every name and checked all the names where they commented etc. The pattern was clear. Angelina has a lot of haters surprisingly, and those haters are the ones that are always spreading this hate in AJ videos. Hopefully we can all point them out and reply to their comment with "troll".
Same haters are going in other artist videos and commenting, example: AJ is much better. Just to make other fans hate AJ and her fans.

For me it's always been about her voice and how she makes me feel, but I get your point about stage presence, and I loved your analysis. She's only 13 here and has really grown since. So that being said, I needed to know if you had reacted to "Now I'm The Fool" from her recent EP, and you had. I wondered what you thought about her facial expressions and body language in that video, so I watched it and agree with everything you said. To me it conveys tons of emotion, from despair to near vitriol for the person who hurt her.

As of this witing, 1.9 k have viewed this video. Of that I would assume that maybe 100 of them had not seen this performance before. I understand empathy and sympathy are a large part of your career choice, but trust that 99 percent of us are here to see YOUR take, and not to follow the trolls, vipers and hypocrites. Also, some people are not good at typing these little blurbs, so their words may seem inapporpriate. Relax if you can, and most of us will be back.

Bohemian Rhapsody got 78 million views and then lost her career and no America soon as that the president of breath of a pro Rikers heard that song do you wanna center right now but you couldn’t sign what she’s fine but you couldn’t go to the show to play cause you had this on the song to do but once she got done she went to Los Angeles California. Your comment was pretty accurate… she did seem to come out of “her special place” that she mentions she goes to; often with her eyes closed. It of course didn’t detract from this beautiful performance (IMHO). I have always preferred this performance (slightly) over “Bohemian Rhapsody.” 😬
