I have the OG Thunderbird. It failed both shakeout and light spine whack. A quick stretch of the spring took care of that.

Vosteed is doing great with their excellent designs and execution. I haven't heard much about their steel treatment, especially of M390 and similar higher tier steels. Thanks for covering!
I had my eye on the green carbon fiber Thunderbird until I came across the recent EMP Nymble pre-order. I ended up ordering the all black and green carbon fiber version of that. Has all the same deployment methods. It looks so sick! Gonna be an eager few months waiting for manufacturing to finish.
I agree, we need a Thunderbird in a top liner lock. I’m tired of all the plunge / liner locks on the market. The Thunderbird is an awesome looking piece. I would definitely buy if they decide to make it in the top liner lock style. Thanks for your review and opinion RSB.

Love this knife. I was able to pick it up on the secondary for $90. Unfortunately, mine is one of the ones that fails a light spine wack. I have herd the new thunderbirds are hit and miss on solid lock up.
We are always wanting something new with our knives; new steels, new handle materials, new locks, clips, etc.. What about new opening techniques? The Reverse Tanto Flick. Sheepsflick. Trans-AD lock. Framelock intertia spin.
I'm a huge fan of Vosteed, particularly the button action and that snicky thunk on opening. Also they're relatively easy to get in Australia, which isn't the case for a lot of manufacturers!
They definitely have an eye for pleasing details I've yet to be dissapointed 🍻
So this is one of the very few knives I own 2 of. I am both a hard user and a terrible fidgeter and the Thunderbird really nailed it for me. I got one the first year in s35vn and then I grabbed another in m390. I actually like the size of the older one a bit better but that's ok. I don't get the hate for G10 that some people have. I think it looks and feels very nice when done right.
G10 is incredibly strong for its lightweight nature and very resistant to the elements..I think people confuse it with plastic based on its feel..perception is a hard thing to shake
The evolution of the Vosteed Thunderbird. I need one in Cloud Carbon Fiber. Oh yes a top liner lock version would be a must have. Great video man.
