And this is where edc knives become an addiction, lol, youll never find the perfect edc, the best one will be the one you put in your pocket that day. The grass is always greener somewhere, lol. I mean this respectfully, its fun trying to find the knife that you enjoy the most - but lets just go ahead and acknowledge the truth. My name is brad and im a knife addict. I have not bought a knife in…10 days, but i have 15 in my amazon save for later list 😂😂😂
Also a knife addict, and after a 160 Spyderco knives I’m not looking to buy anything soon until the Native Chief in Magnacut comes out. It never ends 😵💫👍🏻
After $ Thousands of dollars, it occurred to me that the perfect knife foe all my uses is the Cold Steel Recon 1 Spear Point S35VN. Thanx for the videos my Bladed Brother ⚔👍✝🇺🇸
Lol, I also went from an assisted cheap tanto, to a Bugout, to a Civivi, to a Spyderco, and then to the Bel Air (with many in between). Now I'm split between the Bugout and the Bel Air. I think if I put my own edge on the Bel Air it might work as well as the Bugout. I like the Bel Air better in basically every other way, it's just the the Bugout works better as a cutting tool, which is kind of the point. We'll see. The journey continues!
All of the Landers are great. The blade shape is so much more useful than it looks to be. The uncoated blades are so slicy. I probably use the smaller ones the most and the Lander 1 with the green micarta and 14c28n blade recently came down in price and is so slim. I don’t work for them, but they get as much work from me as my more expensive American knives.
I prefer larger EDCs(just picked up a Shaman) but still find myself using my Hogue Deka modified wharncliffe a lot. Spyderco Para 3 is no slouch either.
I started collecting spyderco and have since moved on to civivi and sencut because their button lock flippers are so much bang for buck! ***the spydiechef is still my fave.
Civivi Chevalier II may be a great option. Its stayed under the radar for most, but until i get my hands on a protech malibu it's my malibu substitute.
Have you looked into the Kizer Drop Bear? Or the brand Kizer at all? They have many selections of button locks. Or check out Vosteed knives, they have a great selection of button locks and crossbar locks. Check out the Vosteed Raccoon selections…
@coryfisher7019 I have been wanting a Drop Bear actually. I'm trying to branch out and try different manufacturers. Maybe that'll be my next knife purchase. Haven't seen a lot from Vosteed but I'll definitely check them out.
@@wadagod I also really like Drop Bear. The blunt tip of the spear point is not good at piercing things (I don't often pierce things in daily life), but it is great for cutting as well as inserting it between things to pry things up or digging into the soil. will demonstrate. It would have been even better if it was just a little bigger... As for Kizer's other knives, I like the Sheepdog series. (Yes, I don't really like Blunt's sharp knives. I don't want to hurt anyone, myself, or the knife.) With Sheepdog, you can choose from button locks, crossbar locks, frame and liner locks.
My "journey" through alot of this was starting out with cheap, basically gas station knives and multitools, then progressively trying out better and more expensive ones until I found my end game... Then progressively going back down the scale again towards more budget things. Not only because im not afraid to lose them, but because I just find the flagship models of these things are usually incredibly overkill for my everyday life that I want to cut down on the bulk and leave them for when I think I need them. Its not full circle yet, but its not far from haha
The quest for the perfect knife is never ending for the collection part of it just as much as the users part of it. Now I will say to date right now the absolute. Best, EDC style pocket knife that is on the market bar None is the manix 2 platform of knives with either the PM2 or possibly Sage 5 as a distant second.
Manix 2 crucarta is, and has been, in my pocket since I've gotten it with very few off days(at work). Coupled with the civivi utility. Absolute badassery in versatile usability.
My only regret purchase was a budget Spyderco like yours. 60 bucks for a 8cr13 liner lock with terrible quality control. That company has lost it's mind with the competition out now.
Big Kershaw fan here but you should check out the Hogue Mini RSK. Magnacut for a decent price and the build quality blows Kershaw out of the water (I still love them though)
Only problem with the mini rsk is the 20cv, Hogue doesn't do all that great a job on their 20çv and it's ran soft. Now if you get one of the magnacut ones they run those at 63-64 after the community raised hell for the 58hrc dekas they first put out in FRN and magnacut lol
I have the mini-bugout with CF scales! No flex, I don't use the clip and just carry it in the pocket. It's so light with a small footprint so it just disappears in th pocket.
I think the bugout was good when it came out at like $120, but now we're pushing $180 when there are cheaper knives with better materials and still made in the USA. I don't hate Benchmade, in fact I really like they're knives, but I won't be buying them at those prices.
You don't remember model names of some of the knives, or steel type. All you say is you like them all and yet not sure about any of them either. Dude put your game together.

Amazon 🤔 there are many good retailers like DLT,GP Knives,Knives Ship Free,National Knives,Knife Center, Blade HQ. But whatever works I guess 👍🏻✌🏼
i only have 30 knives .... i can't stop.
I think we’re all on the same journey. Not sure it ever ends. Keep up the good work man! 👍

Mine is the Clip Point Recon-1. Both awesome knives for a great price.

That's the sencut serene for me.
I got a bugout, lovely little guy that goes in my jeans real nice. I'm gonna have to buy one of those Kershaw ones though, beautiful.
@@AdamAus85 highly recommend.

Just curious, why are you carrying the Spyderco blade down?
@IronButterknife that's how it came, and didn't bother me enough to change it haha
Lander 2 in s35vn. Done
Love that knife, and secondary carry it often, but it's not a great blade profile for my edc needs(stoopid zip ties and such lol). At work at least.
Check out the kizer drop bear
Smith and Wesson make exceptional firearms. It’s unfortunate that knife sucks so bad.

I hate the Bugout. Overpriced with their ultra cheap scales 🤮 So much better options for the price and even cheaper
