    Hello. Very good video. Very detailed and clear.
    You know there is a life expectancy for shutters. And although it is an average value and some will last longer and others less, in the end, each one will fail.
    In the case of entry-level cameras like the 1300D or similar: Do you think that a change of curtains solves the problem?
    Thank you.

    • @Thebobfactor

      Hi. Yes there is a small display that is used to project the numbers up to the viewfinder. • @Thebobfactor
      @Thebobfactor  3 года назад +1

      Take a look inside the SD card slot and see if there is anything inside it. Nothing that you removed from the camera will effect the SD card like that. So it must be a problem inside the card slot. And the most likely problem with the camera not communicating with the battery, is that the small flat ribbon cable used for the communication is not connected properly to the metal bar that runs inside the battery compartment. Take a look at this section of video #4, where it shows how to reconnect it. Let me know if that was the problem. ruclips.net/video/7gJr4ANik-g/видео.html

      @@degerejiusman6363 That's a confusing one on the SD card problem. I really don't know what the problem would be with it. Removing the SD card board wouldn't effect the SD card's ability to lock in place inside the slot. It still sounds as if the card is not able to seat all the way down inside the slot. Have you tried another SD card yet? Possibly the card has a problem. If you are still unable to figure the problem with it, then replacing the SD card board would be the next step. It just seems a shame to replace the SD card board if it was working prior to the camera disassembly. I think the problem with it is going to be something very simple though. Hi Alicen.
      Thank you very much. I'm really glad you like the video series.
      Most of the tools that I use in this video were purchased through Amazon. One of them is a 30 piece multi-tip set of screwdrivers. This is the link to them on Amazon: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FGQ1G6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
      I have purchased three 60D's on Ebay that were listed as broken or for parts. They were in the range of $100 each. I was actually able to fix two of them, but one of them is just used for practice now, and I keep it disassembled in a box. It helps me out when someone has a question about something inside the camera, and I can just go to that one. Something important that I found out right away when buying any used camera, is to make sure that it never got wet. One camera that I bought was so rusted inside from water damage that there was nothing usable in it. The seller let me return it. But now I always make sure and ask the seller if it had ever been wet. If it has I won't buy it.
      The charts took a few days to create, but they sure helped me out a lot. I'm glad that others are getting use out of them too!

    Hi Robert. Interesting Videos! I need your expert advice.
    My Canon 60D is giving me an "Err 30" which is, according to canon, a shutter issue. I took a peek at the sensor to see what might be causing this and I found out that the shutter gets stuck in a close position. But this doesn't happen all the time but occasionally.
    My camera is way above 100K shutter actuations. It is already 139K. Do you think it needs a shutter assembly replacement already?
    We don't have any authorized Canon Repair Centers nearby. Would you recommend replacing the shutter assembly myself?
    Thanks in advance! Your reply is greatly appreciated.

    • @Thebobfactor
      @Thebobfactor  6 лет назад

      Hi Toastmaster Ivan. Most likely there is a tear somewhere on one of the curtains in the shutter assembly that is causing it to randomly hang up. I've had this same type of problem on one of my 60D's, and replacing the shutter assembly was the only option to fix it. You can see from all of the videos in this 60D repair series that getting to the shutter assembly itself is an in depth process because you have to tear the camera completely down. Once there though, the actual replacement of the shutter assembly is very easy. If you follow the tear down process shown in all of the videos, and use all of the screw layout diagrams, I don't think you would have a problem. And be sure to replace the entire shutter assembly and not just the curtains, because as on mine, one of the many little springs in the shutter assembly was broken and that's what tore the curtain. And replacement curtains don't include the springs. I hope this helps you out. -Bob

    hi Robert! tell me how to adjust the sensor to avoid problems with focusing. I'm interested in how many turns of the bolts you made then screw the sensor until I got the perfect focus.

    • @Thebobfactor
      @Thebobfactor  7 лет назад +1

      The way that I do it is to mark the screws before removing them, and then count the turns that it takes to make the screws bottom out (tightened). Record the numbers for each of screws. They can all be different. Then to get it back to that point, put the screw in and bottom it out, and back the screw out the number of turns that you recorded for that particular screw. I show how to do that in this video at time stamp 1:00.

    • @ДимаМакгафин
      @ДимаМакгафин 7 лет назад

      The problem is that I have a second-hand camera with a non-aligned sensor. Where he read that you need to tighten the screws to the stop and loosen by 1.5 turns. I'm afraid that the sensor might collide with the shutter, what do you think about it? Sorry for my English:)

    • @Thebobfactor
      @Thebobfactor  7 лет назад

      Oh ya I see what you are talking about. I have seen a few videos that talk about adjusting the CCD screws to change the focus, but they really don't go into enough detail to help you out here. They just basically show that you can adjust a screw, take a picture and then determine if the focus is correct or not. I don't know how to adjust it if you don't already have a starting point I wouldn't think that shutter would touch the CCD even with the CCD tightened all the way down. But I will check and let you know though.

    • @Thebobfactor
      @Thebobfactor  6 лет назад

      Hi Harlan. By "pin" do you mean the electrical plug on the end of the intervalometer's cable, and the broken part is in the small hole (the jack) on the side of the camera?

    • @Thebobfactor
      @Thebobfactor  6 лет назад

      If that's the case, the first thing you would do is remove the battery. Then look and see if the broken off part is hollow at all. If it is hollow, (that's good) you could insert something like a small "easy-out" for removing screws. You could also fashion a small flat screwdriver, or a piece of solid wire, that would fit inside the broken part, with something on the end to act like a barb so that it will hook on the inside to pull it out. That particular plug is very small though @ 2.5mm, so it may be tough to do anything like that.
      If that doesn't work though, then you may have to tear the camera down to the point shown in the first video at ruclips.net/video/rxc9C1UrVVs/видео.html. From there you would have access to remove the board that the plug is on. There are four screws that you would have to remove. Then from the backside of the plug, you would need to bend back a small piece of metal that's on the end, and then you could push the broken piece back out of the hole. Then bend the piece of metal back where it was. - Bob
