I felt something very strange seeing my city through the eyes of a foreigner. Streets and places I walk through almost daily look different from the perspective of someone who doesn't live here. I had never experienced something like this before. I am very grateful for your video. I hope you enjoyed your stay here. Sending you a big hug and thank you for showcasing my city. Many foreigners make content talking about "Argentina" but they actually refer to Buenos Aires, and the truth is it's like a separate country. The rest of the provinces have nothing in common with the capital, neither the accent nor the customs. Thank you again for showing that Argentina is not just Buenos Aires

Thanks for your nice message. I love both cities, but yes, they feel very different. This is often the case with capital cities and the rest of the country, especially when the capital city is much larger than any other city in the country.

Hello mate! I really liked the video, as I certainly enjoy strolling around Córdoba's streets.
I just wanted to tell you that calling La Cañada a drainage canal is... somewhat disheartening. It's originally a natural stream that feeds into the Suquía river, and while it may seem like just a gentle shallow stream of water, it's not uncommon to see it fill to the brim on summer's rain season.
This is actually the second construction of La Cañada, made mainly by croatian immigrant workers during the early 40s. La Vieja Cañada predates it by 3 centuries, and it's given birth to numerous songs and legends.
Sorry if it seems like I'm infodumping, but just wanted to add up on the great video and share about one of the "joyitas" that I so much love about my city.
Keep it up and all the best for you in your travels!

    • @RichardArthurYT
      @RichardArthurYT  Месяц назад +3

Thank you for that. I'm happy to be corrected. I'm just a tourist, so I don't know much. A few locals told me it wasn't a river, just a drainage canal. But it's beautiful either way!

First impression I got from your video was ...WOW, you sure are great at walking (or should I say, jogging !). You did walk an awful lot of blocks at a fast pace without even stopping for a moment to catch your breath ! I was amazed as I watched you do it. I live in Cordoba, but I never walked so many blocks without taking a break. It's easy to see you know quite well the central area of this large, confusing city, so congrats for that feat.
One thing that I'd like to add to your otherwise fairly true account is that people of Italian or German descent aren't the only large European communities in Argentina. I belong to the lively bunch of Irish descendants toasting with Irish beer every March 17th (Saint Patrick's Day) a date that is also noisely celebrated too by most of the Argie youth, even though their ancestors came from some other countries. The Scots and Welsh
are also numerous in certain parts of the country.
That being said, I wish you the best possible stay amongst us Cordobeans ! Take care.

Inaugurated on November 4, 1909, the building was originally the Boys' Higher School and later became the Olmos School (or José Vicente de Olmos). The project was commissioned by Governor Olmos in 1906 and built by the Province itself. Under the supervision of architect Elías Senestrari, the institution was named after the governor, who had passed away by the time the construction was completed.

In general, Argentina is a very beautiful country. We can compare one city with another, but we cannot deny the beauty of one or the other. Wherever you go, there is a charm that characterizes each city. On the other hand, if we look for the opposite, such as very precarious places with poverty to highlight, there are also those. From what I know, I can only speak for my country, Argentina, and the city where I live now, New York City.

My brother was walking down A downtown street filming himself, brother, this is Latin America, a motorcycle passes by and takes off your socks walking. Don't be idiots, this is not Switzerland, be very careful.
