@@MathersOnTheMap Yep, I noticed at minute 4:33 that Taylor was sitting at a correct angle on the plywood bench, certain builders use up to six inches thick cushions, adding that, Taylor feet would not touch the floor.
@@charlevoix418 I hear ya, we did grab a cushion off our couch to test it out, I wish I thought to include that in the video! We bought 6-inch memory foam mattress which we will cut into pieces for our cushions.
Nice work and great attention to detail 👏. Your camera work is improving along with the editing. You both do well on camera and always a thumbs up 👍 for the video
Your van is really looking good! Another great video, looking forward to the electrical...Thanks again for taking the time to make such detailed videos!
Hello from Geneva. We are so happy to watch your job, its great and very helpful. We are starting our Sprinter conversion and we appreciate the way you build yours. (excuse my poor english). Merci et à bientôt.
Thank you very much! Taylor and I visited Switzerland in March of 2019 and loved it, we were in Geneva too, so beautiful! Best of luck with your build!
I am modifying an existing dinette setup from 2 benches into a U-shape. I was hoping to see how you built that rear piece. Do you have any tips for me? I know nothing. Thank you 😀🚙🇨🇦
Always great videos and so informative. The reason for my questions are that you have done such a great job I am thinking of copying almost your entire build, hopefully that is a compliment. Question; What is underneath the electrical setup, why is it not similar to the water set up whereby it is underneath the storage space?
Thank you for the comment and best of luck with your build! Underneath the electrical is the “garage” where I’ll store my surfboards and other outside gear that we’ll carry.
Hi! We're starting to build the dinette boxes in our van and we're doing a similar construction style (no framing, just thick plywood structure). What type of plywood did you use for the box? We're looking at 3/4" Baltic Birch but IDK if that's overkill.
Sorry one more question - just regular 3/4"birch or did you use special / baltic / or marine grade birch? Everything I've seen recommends baltic birch or another marine-grade plywood but it's super expensive, and IDK if it's necessary. Your boxes look very solid so if I can skip marine-grade and save a few $ but get something that solid, I would!
Great video! Did you screw the piano hinge into the end grain of the plywood on the lids? If so, were there any issues with the plywood layers splitting?
Did you include the thickness of the cushions in your calculation?
Yes we did and that's a great call out! I will pin this comment so everyone sees it! thanks!

raising the bench seats to add compartment storage absolutely blew my mind, what a great idea!!! never would have even thought
This channel is about to blow up. Love these two.
Thank you JSee!!!
Very thoughtful craftsmanship!
Thanks Deandre!!!

Appreciate that! We're trying to work on our angles! haha
Nice build. Glad I saw it because I'm going to copy parts of the benches. Thank you. *Subscribed.
Thanks Ronnie! Best of luck with your build
Looks great! You dropped some serious coin on your electrical system! Impressive!
You're not kidding! Luckily we got our batteries at a boat show and got a little bit of a discount, but still very very expensive!
Just got mine during their Black Friday sale. $150 off each 100ah battery. Future van builds might wanna keep that in mind.

Thanks Sherry we appreciate it!!! Electric video is coming soon!
Looks really neat - picked up a handful of clever tips, thank you!

Nice design! Thank you for sharing. How did you cut the handle for the bench lid?
Nice going guys, that's alot of wood being added, any idea the weight of it all? - Do you have a weight limit to stick to?
It’s a great question, we may get it weighed in the once we finalize the build and load it all up
What did you use to make the holes for the lid of the benches? A router bit?
It was a bit long and enjoyed humour most. well done
Thank you!!!

Thanks! Yes we did and no we didn’t really have issues, the screws are pretty small and there’s a lot so no one screw has a ton of pressure on it
how long and wide the van ? i want the plan or layout pleace
Van is a little less than 6 feet wide inside and probably 16 feet long inside (measuring the living areas)
7:15 Sensing some tension here… yikes
😂
