It's tough to get old. I grew up with Genesis. Their songs are the soundtrack of my life. This makes me happy and sad at the same time. I know this is their last. It's very emotional for me to see this. Nic is super. This is complex stuff. He's to be commended!
So true, I had the same sentiments walking out after the Dec 3, 2021 in Philly. I enjoyed every second of this show. Blessed that I could get tickets last minute. I thought I had heard they were sold out. Somebody was looking out for me 😇 Saw them first in the late 70’s, I was 19 and was hooked. Last week was my 4th and final show I’m afraid.
The full version of Carpet Crawlers at the end of the concert was excellent and a fitting sign off in a final tour by a class act that has entertained us for 50 years
TF? Those of us who aren't dead are getting older. The fact this man gets up there with his bandmates speaks volumes. I honestly hope I'm that healthy at 70.
People who whoop, perky Merkin-TV-audience-style, to fill the silences and poignant pauses in songs because they can't cope with a moment of being alone with their own thoughts, or so that they can 'star' on every recording of the performance and satisfy their own need for fame, should be beaten to death with dead dogs. Why break the spell? Why spoil the unrepeatable moment for everyone, including the performers? Nothing wrong with joining in when it's appropriate, but in some situations it's NOT appropriate - during a classical concert or an opera, for instance - the performance might even be paused whilst the offending duckwit (🦆) was ejected from the hall. Interrupt a solo in a jazz club and they'd be limping home with their nuts in a back pocket and their teeth in a bag. Please, whoopers, let the songs breathe. The performance isn't about you. It'll never be about you. 😔
