      Same here, we chose well.
I first heard them in 1985 as a 15 year old. My best friends (still my best friend) "punk buddy" played Am I Evil for us an was jumping all over his bedroom like a crazy person an I found my new favorite band. An they have been ever since.
They feel like friends and or family now, I've never met any of them but that's how they feel to me.
An they're bigger now than they've ever been, that has been crazy to see over all these years.
First time I saw them was on the Damage Inc. Tour supporting their Master Of Puppets album. I saw them about 3 months after Cliffs passing. There was about 6k people at that show and when they come next it'll be 38 years after that show an they're playing two shows at a building that holds 72k fans for football. That is insane.
They've just kept getting bigger an bigger. I don't know how they could possibly top this current tour but it won't surprise if they do somehow.
It's really been cool to be one of their fans all these years. I just got tickets this morning for a show that won't be played until August of next year. I haven't saw them live since 2003. I'm really excited to see this next show, it'll be their biggest event they've ever done in Seattle. There's already a bunch of sold out sections in the stadium. I may even try to go the second night but I'll probably have to sit up high for that show, the tickets I got this morning were pretty expensive but I'll be close to the stage. So I'm happy, but I'll be happy just to be a part of it.

30 odd years ago my dad took me to a band called metallica. I was a young kid, around 8 at the time and my dad taking me to see Metallica was something impossible to erase from my memory. 14 years ago my wife entered the wedding venue on Ecstacy of Gold. Our honeymoon was to Rock Werchter 2009 where Metallica closed the festival. They even played Dyer's eve that night, my all time favourite Metallica song. On our 10 year anniversary we went to Metallica in the Amsterdam Arena.
Last april i went with my 11 year old son to the 72 seasons kickoff in Amsterdam. My wish was to go with 3 generations but sadly my dad passed away 2 years ago. My son was beaming with amazement at the show and definitely had the time of his life. The shirt i bought him is pretty much worn whenever he can.
3 generations of Metallica fans, i just passed the baton to my son, and hopefully my daughter gets to see them live as well, when hopefully we can go as a family.

@@metjovi agree on the generosity that Metallica delivers completely. No band that I have ever seen has the generosity of metallica in that sense. It’s the changing up of the set list which Metallica arms certainly on par with. I think it’s Springsteen’s ability to pull a song name from the audience and the band has to meet that that is the really impressive bit of Springsteen and is band. But full kudos to Metallica, they really are the real deal, particularly when you consider most bands with only vary 3 song across day 100 shows ala Bon Jovi.
