The Milwaukee Tool M18 FUEL 6, 9, and 12 Gallon Dual-Battery Wet/Dry Vacuums are unique due to their versatility. They can not be converted to corded units with more power. You can buy the 9-gallon wet-dry vac and with a few extra items turn it into a 6 or 12-gallon vacuum. In seconds, you can change from a 1-7/8" hose to a 2-1/2" hose. The amount of accessories available is fantastic and the thought and development put into them are amazing!
DEWALT Stealthsonic vas may not be as interchangeable, but they are powerful and silent! Maybe silent is not the best word, but they are very, very quiet! As we show in this video, they are also as powerful as the Milwaukee 6.5Hp model. FYI, the DEWALT is rated at 5HP.

I have the 12 gallon stealth sonic. Even if it was a little slower the noise level makes it worth it. The price point is the icing on the cake.

I was on a jobsite an needed something more powerful than my small cordless vac to clear some conduits. The client loaned me their Ridgid and it was so loud I have to wear hearing protection. That evening I picked up the 12gal Stealthsonic and couldn't be happier. In fact it make me glad I forgot to load my big Shop-Vac for this run because otherwise I wouldn't have pickup the Sealthsonic.

Been using ridgid vacs for years. Probably owned 4-5 different sizes of them. The noise is very annoying. Ran into a dewalt vac at one of my job sites. That was a game changer. Would wear headphones when cleaning now its not an issue anymore

I had one of dewalts portable wet dry vac, I think it was dw581 it had the cord with it but could also go battery powered, I was so disappointed in it, I got the m18 packout vacuum and it was night and day, the Milwaukee had literally double the suction, however $30-$50 more, in my opinion worth the extra $.. interested to get my hands on these new Dewalt vacuums

I'd like to pull the stealth sonic apart as I suspect the reason its both quiet and fast is because they've removed restrictions, i.e. it's been 'gas flowed'. I don't doubt there's some strategic damping too.

I had a Rigid. I think it would’ve given a jet engine a run for the money on which was louder. Using it, my ears hurt. I gave it to my brother, don’t miss it at all. One thing I found, was if using it for dust collection where it turns on when your machine does, the db remains the same. As in, my craftsman shop vac is 79db in my tiny workshop. I turn on my table saw which is 81db. With both on, what would you expect the db to go up by? It went to 81.5, I was thinking of replacing my existing but then found out db doesn’t appear to be cumulative. Turn on 3 80db machines and you will prob be at 81-82db so replacing it as my dust collector I will still be at 80db because of table saw noise so not worth replacing.

I have 2 Rigids… an 8gallon about 10yrs old & a 12 gallon my friend recently gave me the previous homeowner left at his new house. Given the color way it has to be around 25yrs old.
I’ve decked them both out.. dust stopper pros, washable HEPA filters, fabric pre filter, exhaust mufflers, & 10 & 20’ hoses. I’ve also taken them completely apart.. cleaned, degreased, sanded & lubed up all the parts & no matter they still SCREAM to the point I hate using them w/o ear plugs in!? It’s just such a raspy screeching sound especially when ur in a smaller room & not to mention both of their lids don’t seal on the bucket at all which bothers the heck out of me everytime I move them!
The price on the StealthSonic is not too bad! I’ve been looking at getting a big shop vac style dust extractor to keep mostly stationary at my house then a small vac to use to move around with, but I already have the packout vac & I really like the 2-1/2 hose best. Im really thinking I might pull the trigger on the 16 gallon then build a platform for the dust stopper pro to sit on top 🤔
Good looks on the video this was close to what I was looking for 😃
I just wanna see a comparison of the quality of the make compared between a rigid/Milwaukee & Dewalt. (Dewalt only licenses their name & doesn’t actually make the vacs thenselves. I feel like this would be a reason we might not see a flexvolt variation)

Craftsman, ridgid, workshop all use the same motor they have been since the early 80s. Excluding the craftsman vacs made by cleva from like 2010-2020 that look more like the vacmaster beast ones do

Seriously - I like the design with minimal exhaust [ no blower] and quiet at 8 amps .
I want to see a turbo switch on PRO STEALTHSONICS - with 11 amps where it runs on 8 amps like these but you can hit TURBO 11 amps [ 75 db maybe ] when needed.
They will be more expensive - but really really versatile ! And no blower like these ..

Curious if anyone can shine light on the different model numbers for the Dewalt: it looks like Dewalt has model variants for the 9 and 12 gallon. Specifically the 9-gallon DXV09P (which is linked in the video to Lowes does not have any markings for "Stealthsonic" or any mention of the lower decibel levels and also doesn't include the nicer yellow hose) and the DXV09P-QTA (supposedly -QTA standing for "Quiet Technology" which has the yellow hose and says "Stealthsonic" on top, but not found at Lowes).
My question is if the non-QTA model from Lowes is really just the same vac and just as quiet but loses the yellow hose, or if you have to source the -QTA model specifically to get the lower decibel levels? I see the Lowes link provided for the 12-gal is indeed the Stealthsonic version so I may just grab that instead, but it looks like to source the Stealthsonic 9-gal it gets much more expensive.
Any input would be much appreciated, great video!

You want to look for DXVXXP-QT or DXVXXP-QTA, with -QT or -QTA at the end. Difference is Lowes carries the "-QT" models, that do not have the yellow contractor hose but is cheaper. $40-70 dollar difference for the hose. I'll save the money and buy a hose later if needed.

Longer hose will screw up airflow but suction should stay the same

    • @truthisweareallgonnadie.
      @truthisweareallgonnadie. Год назад

False a longer hose requires more power to suck the water through. I have the older model which is more powerful than the new sealth version I seen a video some where don't remember where but they compared the older 16gallon vs the newer one and the older one had better suction. I have the older model of the dewalt and I have the corded Milwaukee I took a 5 gallon bucket filled it up and the Dewalt took alil over 6seconds to drain it dry the Milwaukee done it in 4.5seconds both used the same length hose. With that said one using a shorter hose than the other that definitely affects the performance.

I have the older model dewalt 16gallon shop vac and hose length definitely makes a difference. Anyways I took a 5 gallon bucket full of water the dewalt took alil over 6seconds my Milwaukee corded done it in 4.5seconds both had the same length hose. You should redo this test again both using the same length hose that Milwaukee is a more powerful vacuum when it comes to suction.
