Lol, unbelievable, I'm looking around to buy this vac for the same exact reason Aaron...to hook up to my CNC machine too.😄😄 I have a Ridgid and its too damn loud. I just changed over to a spindle so I want to see if I could get things a little more quieter, replacing the vac should really help. Great minds, huh. 👍👍
What size CNC machine? Does yours have a spindle or a router? I have a cnc4newbies machine. Use a dustright wall mount. But want to change to a spindle and a quieter dust collection system as well.
I bought the big one because of your last video. I swept up a bunch of drywall dust and it did plug the filter. I wish I used a bag. I like that option.
i friggan love this channel dude! It's reviewing relevant and useful items. I bought a 12 gal because of your previous video and what a difference in comparison to my ridgid pile of noisey casters, hoses whose memory flexes right into customers' drywall corners, accessories that are purchased seperately, and bags that cost an arm and a dick! The dewalt's casters are silent when rolling and it comes with all the attachments you need right away for barely more than the cost of cheaper competitors.
I wonder if the decibel level would have changed if he would have just swap the hoses. Put the small hose on the big vac and put the big hose on the small vac.
I have the 9 gallon vac. I'm contemplating on getting the 6 gallon for compact and work travel purposes. Is the 6 g THAT MUCH SMALLER than the 9 gallon? Is it worth the change or just stick to the 9? Thanks in advance
I just picked one up from Lowe's along with the HEPA + Bags accessories, $215 taxed. It's difficult for me to understate how much of a gamechanger this is.
I always use noise cancelling head phones when vacuuming inside, I just hate the noise.. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 for hepa filter option and there’s universal washable pre-filter ”socks” you can throw on the actual filter. Great video, love Dewalt stuff ❤️🔥
As a mobile car detailer I find my self sometimes wanting a quiter vacuum especially when working in quiet neighborhoods I hate to be that guy with the generator+ loud vacuum. Might just give the 9 gallon a shot.
@@jmackinjersey1 good advice never really looked into that, just googled power inverter and they definitely seem to be a viable solution for a quiet operation set up. Thank you!
Great video. Thank you for your time. I have old Shop Vac which quiet and still going strong. I wish Dewalt made a tall narrow Vacuum so I don't have to bend over all the time.
I recently bought the 12 gal and can believe how quiet it is. I love it! Could you or someone please tell me are the motor heads the same size (dia.) for the 12 and 9 gal. ? Thinking of buying the 9 gal. too, but have limited space on under my bench where it will live.
I use ear-pro when using either one of my vacs in my cars. But then again, I've had a long time relationship with ear-pro. If I use noisy tools or am in an area wjere loud noises are a constant for a long time and don't have any, I'll have ringing while laying down and trying to sleep.
Absolutely brilliant reviews🌟 I’ve watched hundreds of tool reviews on RUclips over the years from different channels. Particularly love the noise testing & video structure/ edit so watchable, on point & informative. As a DIYER without a studio or workshop, a belligerent neighbour and sensitive cats I’ve ended up buying the fairly quiet Festool ranges. Which is hard on the wallet. Just seen these DeWalt Stealthsonic in your videos and I was off to Screwfix!!…..then I googled they don’t sell this shop vacuum model in the UK 🥲🥲🥲 just plain DeWalt 82Db dudes! Never mind! Carry on the great work, I’ll check out your other videos. Thank you from the United Kingdom. They seriously need to get this model in DIY stores now, low cost and a great product. Cheers 🌟🌟🌟
I see that 9 gallon vacuum comes with a yellow hose, the one at Lowe seems to have a black one. Is the yellow hose the more durable kind like Rigid and Bauer has?
@kmillard81 I like foam filter for water. I guess if the filter is new I would wet a small section and see how the filter reacts. It must not be a paper filter.
I sometimes will bring these up into very high end condos - so I like the minimal exhaust - the 9 gallon is so fat = not good for tight elevators - so I hope the 6 gallon is as powerful as the previous 6 gallon and might try to fit a 2.5 " . I need to vacuum slight water from polishing marble neatly - so may need the 9 gallon fat boy one ...lol . IF they make turbo models at 72db noise OR a two speed model that pulls 8 amps on low 65 db and 10 amps on high @72 to 74 db - for $ 80 more ... Could be a WIN / WIN ... I would get a 6 gallon turbo 2 speed. For 150 to $170 . Hi speed would be noisier ...but I am not going to be dealing with debris - although might be vacuuming slurry and water . No exhaust spray is key .You can't spray the walls in a 3 million condo out the back end of your vac...
No mention of the (PITA) no swivel hose end. Just at the side of tank. Plus, Dewalt does not make a swivel attachment either. It is either for cost cutting measures or stupidity??
i will say this i do like most of the products this brand offers. i do think they offer a lot that the competitors dont or simply havnt caught up on. i have a difficult time talking to my coworkers with competing brands. i know this brand has become very unpopular but i feel they have a good idea of what the consumer wants and needs. I like that the rack in the back is removable. for me i use vac bags and wont be tipping the unit.
You are hearing the airflow through the smaller hose. They have the same power head. With that said, I agree, in the video the smaller one seems to have a different pitch in sound. It sort of does, but not while in use. Listen to it when I put my hand over the hose.
@WorkshopAddict Great video, just what I was looking for. Do you have any idea why the 12 gallon is so much cheaper than the 9 gal.? I just don't think I need the 12 for what I'm using it for, so the 9 gal. would work but I don't understand why it so much more. Thanks.
The price at Lowes does not include a Hepa type(not the real deal) or fine particulate filter bag. This combo kit adds an extra $60, bringing the total to over $200 for the 12 gallon unit w/ tax. Both the filter and bag in the kit are Chinese made, do you trust them, not me. The hose included is a waste and does not feel like a quality item, oddly enough I've come across both the yellow and all black hoses on the same machine. Adding a quality made hose adds more $ Sure it's quiet although at a price in the long run. We're slowing creeping up on a non-Asian made, quality Vac.
I've got the bigger one hooked up to my cnc machine and man is it so much nicer than my old vacuum. 100% worth it

What did you end up using for the dust boot? because they usually are 2 inch or 4 inch openings.
3d print one to the size/attachment style that you need. @@cobrabyte25

Exactly what I'm eyeballing it for! Did you go with the DeWalt dust separator, too?

Drywall dust is not fun. Been there!

Id still get the 12 gallon, 20ft cord instead of 10ft and you can just get the smaller hose
I mensioned that I maybe should have done that later in the video, but it is nice not to tote around the larger one just to vacuum cars.
I did exactly that when i bought my 12 gallon model last month. I love my 12 gallon even MORE with the smaller hose. I HIGHLY recommend it. 👍🏾
Whete can i get a smaller hose or do you buy a adapter ?
I wonder if the decibel level would have changed if he would have just swap the hoses. Put the small hose on the big vac and put the big hose on the small vac.
It does. I will have more on that and some comparisons tomorrow.

Can u connect multiple hose’s together?
Are you able to swap the vac heads between the 9 and 12 HP?
Will the smaller hose fit on the 12 gal model?
Can you interchange the hose

It is also about your hearing if you are using it for long periods!
Why not get an inverter instead of a generator? Just charge it over night and use it/them the next day.
@@jmackinjersey1 good advice never really looked into that, just googled power inverter and they definitely seem to be a viable solution for a quiet operation set up. Thank you!
Thanks just picked up the little guy at Lowe’s today for 79 bucks. Cant beat it great deal for a powerful vacuum
How’d you get it for $79?
@@branbosage2330 it was on a Lowe’s daily deal. Thats the only time I buy things I want rather than need.. lol

I would be curious if the motors are interchangeable. Or if they pull different amps?
Tell you what Loud is is the old tall tank Craftsman 16 gallon 3 HP, that thing was like a Civil defense siren!
Lolllll... 😂😭😂😭
Can i use it for house cleaning and vacumin?

12 gallon on Amazon is $219!!! Low’s only $139, that is so crazy!
Does anyone know why the 12 gallon is so much cheaper than the 9 gal.??
Thanks.
I thought the 9 gallon was cheaper
Got to make sure it's the Stealthsonic.
Great video. However the manual says to keep the cartridge in place while sucking up liquids…thoughts?

The stealth is a game changer. I hope they make a stealth battery powered version soon.
I can see a nice Flexvolt Steath vac being a hit!
I hope so too that would be perfect
Rather than buy a smaller vac for the hose, why not just get one and use a hose adapter?
Do you know if these models are available in the UK
Curious to see the 16 gallon curious if its more powerful they classify it as a 6.5 hp

It would be nice to see these next to say, a Ridgid for noise and performance comparisons.
