HF is upping their game. People will still hate and 💩 on them but they’ve come a long way and folks are taking notice. One of the fastest growing companies in the country right now, similar in store numbers as big blue and big orange.
I already bought the Rigid kit with my new Rigid vac. Saving $30 would have been great, but I think I got the vac and accessory kit on sale, so that helps. Harbor Freight is really stepping things up! Great video!
No brainer. I'm buying the red square vacuum and the Bauer kit. Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention. The Rigid kit keeps going up in price
11:04 FWIW I think you gotta sand down the tips of the rigid crevice tool as well to avoid damaging leather surfaces. I've put light scratches/scuffs in real leather & subaru fake leather in the wilderness outback using this tool. Once I sanded it out with like I think 400 grit at least to finish, it is totally smooth & eliminates this risk. I'd recommend anyone do it if you get either of these kits.
I already have the Rigid kit, but this Bauer is an easy no-brainer for someone that needs a kit. Markus and team did a great job with all of the HF detailing supplies.
U mean copying Rigid development team's idea and choice of attachments and overall putting together a nice kit? So the HF team comes in and says "we can copy the design and sell it cheaper", are we calling that a great job now? 👏 ok
@@ByGraceThroughFaith777rigid probably didn’t design anything. Just ordered it from some China factory. Retail stores are nothing but mainstream normalized “drop shipping” stores.
Nice one Josh. I am definitely going to Harbor Freight now! I also watched your recent video on what new detailing products are available for sale at Harbor Freight and it was a pretty good list of stuff. They are definitely "upping their game" when it comes to detailing products because years ago they only had just a couple of products for detailing. Now they have an entire section devoted to detailing and also those new polishers and pads they added and they even have the forced rotation! Next, they need to add one of the MICRO POLISHERS and the related pads to go with it! Then you'd have almost everything you need! Great job Harbor Freight!
I am in the process of building a really cheap detailing set up for my parents house for when I fly home to visit I can detail my family and friends vehicles while I visit. This is definitely going to get purchased for there. I personally run the rigid vac and accessory kit for my mobile detailing business in Florida but this is a great value for a 2nd set of equipment.
Two black Fridays ago, you turned me onto the rigid set, and it was only $25 at Home Depot, and the Ryobi pressure washer was $50. That was a good year. Thanks, brother. 🇺🇸🫡🤜🤛😎🤙
I bought this kit last weekend and finally used it today. Wow! This is way better than the rigid setup. The rigid hose would constantly have this high pitched annoying whistle hooked up to both my shop.vac and vac master vacuums. And the attachments from rigid would never stay on the extensions I had already with my shop.vac. The Bauer hose has no whistle sound and all of my other attachments stay on perfectly with this Bauer set up. This kit is very well worth the $25 and I would highly recommend. Thanks for this info Josh. My rigid hose is gonna get sold at my next community garage sale. Lol
Dude thanks for the video! I went to harbor freight after I saw your video and same thing happened they didn’t even have it on the shelf yet and had to get one in the back. The employee didn’t even know it was there yet. Thanks again
I've had my Rigid kit for many years now and it's been great for the most part. One of the ends did start coming off the hose pretty consistently and I would always jam it back on. It wasn't until I saw this video that I realized they would just twist on. Tried it out on mine and now it's good as new! Thanks to Josh for saving me the cost of buying a new kit (I probably just would have gone for the Bauer to save some cash).
I WAS JUST ABOUT TO BUY THE RIDGID KIT. I have a Stanley shop vac that has a terrible hose it’s extremely stiff and I was gonna buy the ridgid kit but I just didn’t really wanna spend $50 on it but the harbor freight one honestly caught my eye a lot more
I had just discovered this kit existed through the HF app the day before this video dropped. Just picked it up today! I also had to ask for it, as it wasn't out on the floor yet. The price is an absolute deal. Love Harbor Freight.
I bought it two weeks ago! Very good quality and that’s exactly what happened to me I went to buy they had no clue they had it in stock 😂 works great 👍🏽
I IMMEDIATELY ran to the garage to check the swivel on my Rigid hose connector after watching this. Mine swivels freely, even when it’s cranked down tight. Maybe just a slight defect on the one in this video. Thank you for the content!
I literally just got this shipped to me today. It seems like a great kit. It came across my app last week and it got to me in about 5 days after ordering it.
I had the rigid kit but recently replaced it with the cen-tec quick click setup. Lots of affordable attachment options. Really enjoying it. Also didn’t like the orange hose from rigid. The grey matches my color scheme much better.
I have always used Harbor Freight as my "Go To" for tools and equipment, cause I believe its not the Tool but the Craftsman. No way will I spend $300 or more on a buffer when as you have tested and showed the Hercules / Bauer brands do the same as the high priced brands. Thanks for keeping these vid's and comparison going!
Heading over to Harbor Freight pretty soon to grab that. I use the vacmaster shop vac from Menards and it doesn't have that clip to hold the Shop-Vac holds onto it and it has never been a problem
I was literally talking to my wife about buying the rigid kit and hour ago and now this pops up! Just purchased the Bauer kit thanks for saving me some money !
Got the Bauer kit today, there was an online coupon (that I couldn’t find in the app for some reason) for $19.99 and expires in 1 day from this post. Thanks for the great review Josh.
My kit came with my Ridgid wet and dry 14 gal. vacuum so I got mine for essentially free as the vacuum alone was the same price as with the kit ($200 Canadian). That said, the extra foot of hose on the Bauer is a nice touch but if the inside of the hose feels sticky or greasy, that's a minus but could be rectified by picking up soapy water or a soapy cloth to clean the inside.
I bought the rigid 4 gallon shop vac and detailing kit saw this video a week after I returned it to get This detailing kit also Going to make a detailed extractor kit with Bauer 6 gallon shop vac it's going to be all red Thanks brother for this video. I haven't seen a all Bauer Detailing extractor kit So I'm building my own
Got such a good deal on a full sized wet dry vac that I can't even complain about having paid full price on the Ridgid attachment set. Got the vac on a Walmart closeout for, if I remember correctly, something like 20 bucks, full size, full power wet dry, it was a steal! I do remember feeling a little pained at paying 50 bucks for the attachment set though LOL
I grabbed this for 19.99 last weekend and it is a fantastic kit. I'm glad i found your channel, I've saved a lot putting together my car detaling kit. I went for the flexzilla hose for the ryobi 1800 with the McKillan's stubby gun and stainless steel quick connects. I'm only missing the MJJC foam cannon and the kit will be complete. Cheers.
Ok I’ve been to two Harbor Freights over the past week looking for this kit. Going to have to go back and ask for it I guess. Thanks for the heads up about the need to ask for it.
I recently bought a rigid vac (the square one) and I used it the first time today and the hose compresses and pulls back when using the crevice tool - seemed like I had to fight it to move it around in my vehicle. I definitely want the longer hose. A HF coupon just came in my email for $29.99 so its perfect timing! If the clip is needed that isn't on the HF hose, no problem that duct tape cant fix I've duct taped other vacuum hoses in the past.
I wanted to purchase this kit for a year and just came over this video, thank I will purchase this don’t care that it doesn’t have that little tab I will lift my vacuum big deal am saving half the cost .
I love it. I have the rigid one and just got the one from harbor freight. I agree its pretty much the same for 25 bucks. I am glad you did the review thank you.
Standard HF business practice: willing to take a much smaller margin on their products, which they're able to do because their overhead cost is a lot lower than a HD or Lowes.
I picked this kit up the other day and it's great. It wasn't on the shelf in my store either, so I had to ask and they grabbed it from the back. The only negative for me is the stiff bristle brush as I think it's too stiff for any interior cleaning. I did try it on the carpet of a really dirty driver's side footwell and I didn't like how it pulled the carpet fibers. To be fair, I've never used the Ridgid kit so I might not like the stiff brush from their kit either.
I love your video demonstrations and it always tickles me when you have no idea what the parts are for or where they go but that's very unique cause you do these comparisons on the fly and your just as surprised as I'm sure we are. I hope later you do check the instruction manual to know where and what each piece is for and goes. Later on when you have time can you make an update on your garage floor Vevor tiles to see how its holding up and quick I do buy the items you review on your page and I have not been disappointed. Thanks for all your effort.
Thank you Josh. Always impressed by your willingness to bring in and test new products on the market and share it with us. Hoping you will get that Max Easy Triphene Spray on coating that’s all over social media. They make some aggressive claims against ceramic coatings and for whatever reason say it will last 3,000 miles (like an oil change… I guess) looking forward to your input on this product too. Thank you.
Thanks, home slice! You made this decision very easy for me. I been using the rigid attachments that came with my small shop vac. Oh god I hated the plastic hose and how short it was. The only thing I bought as an accessory was the crevice tool. This made it really easy to get between the seats. Nice video as well.
I would go with the rigid simple because of the "locking" feature. Sometime are use the VAC to for the air blower feature and that would most definitely help.
Thanks for the comparison. I was just going to ask you pros what you use for cleaning carpets with a vacuum. I find something like a Miele upholstery tool is MUCH more effective at vacuuming auto interior carpeting and getting hair and dirt out. I use the Ridgid car vac kit for everything else but you should try the Miele tool also.
So I bought the baeur kit 2 days ago. As far as the lil clip goes it’s irrelevant. Why I do is leave the original 5ft hose on my vacuum and attach the 10ft hose to the end of the original one and now I have 15ft of hose! It’s great!
I have a big 6.5HP Ridgid that came with a 7’ 2.5” hose. I bought an additional 13’ black 2.5” hose + a Ridgid Detailing kit and connect them all together for a total of 30’ of hose which comes in handy whenever I have to detail inside of a boat or RV. I can leave the vac outside on the ground and just bring the hose in and thx to the 6.5HP there’s no loss of suction.💪🏽
HF Bauer kit is a no brainer for $25. I already have the Rigid kit that I got on sale for $25. But I might just go ahead and grab the Bauer kit when I go to HF.
I just bought the ridgid shop vac with the detachable blower, luckily I didn't order it with the premium kit, now im gonna get this from HF... Great video, thanks for the advise!

I just bought this kit in Utah. The lady stated that she had sold a lot of them. Thanks again, Josh
Awesome! Yeah I bet they are selling a ton of

I had just discovered this kit existed through the HF app the day before this video dropped. Just picked it up today! I also had to ask for it, as it wasn't out on the floor yet. The price is an absolute deal. Love Harbor Freight.
You can unscrew the rigid connector with the locking tab and screw it onto the HF hose. Works very well. That what I do.
I bought it two weeks ago! Very good quality and that’s exactly what happened to me I went to buy they had no clue they had it in stock 😂 works great 👍🏽
I went the first day it came out and it wasn't even on the shelf yet...manager went to the back and hooked me up...great buy

Same and equal are synonymous.
I have both, I got the Ridgid for 25 + mil discount 2 years ago and the Bauer earlier this year. Very similar and both work great.
I was poking around on the Harbor Freight website and just found this. Thanks for the comparison! I'll be picking the Bauer and saving $30.
I was looking at the comparisons I Kidd you not around 10 this morning , and boom you made this video, thank you 🤝
wooooooo ⚡️🐿️💨…now i can kit out my rigid hose with the extractor set up and grab a bauer hose for regular vacuuming…you da man ✌🏽✌🏽✌🏽

This Auto Detailing Accessory Kit also fits the small Harbor Freight Bauer 3Gallon shop vac perfectly. What a great setup!
Harbor Freight often has coupons and deals that you can use on Bauer stuff. You should be able to pick one up for $20 at least a few times a year.
Exactly the item I've been needing...and at $30 less! Thanks for this detailed (pardon the pun!) comparison...saved me money!

I already has 2 Rigid kits. For $25 I will have a Bauer pretty soon! 👍
Great comparison.
The part that sucks about having 2 is it’s not possible to connect 2 orange hoses together.
Already own the Ridgid but it's nice to see better options at the freight.

I hope so, and where?

For $30 cheaper and does the same job I’ll go with the Harbor Freight. Thanks for the info Josh 👍
The Ridgid shop vac I bought about 7 years ago came with the auto accessory kit so I'm good. If I needed one though, I'd be going with the HF kit.
I got a rigid for $20 online but needed hose and attachments. After seeing this today, ran out and got it. Thanks for the info
Thanks. The red Bauer rocks
If I had a red vac I would go Bauer for sure but with an orange Rigid, the different color would drive me nuts

Just bought this kit after watching your video. Harbor Freight ftw!
The brush attachments are the best for cleaning the Lexus soft rubber mats.
Nice job on this. Thanks for sharing. Thumbs up for the algorithm.
I already had a ridgid vac and ridgid detailing hose kit but I bought this new bauur hose kit to go with a new cordless Milwaukee m18 vacuum
I watched your vid, went to the local HF store and bought this kit. Very satisfied. Thanks a lot.
Luckily I have a HF 5 minutes away. Just got back from there with the only kit they had in the store. Can't beat it for that price !

Just got mine! I have a Bauer shop vac too so it all looks and works great
Thanks for the heads up, Josh. I'll be getting this because I will be bring my IROC out of its winter storage soon.
This will be on my shopping list for the next trip to HF. We have a big Baurer shop vac. this will make cleaning vehicles easier.

Cool. I just bought the Bauer, which is $29.99 now, but I lucked into a sms coupon for ten bucks off. I'm anxious to try it. Hopefully it will suck!
Smooth the tips with a little heat. I use a lighter to really knock down sharp edges.
Good idea.
Great find Josh, its good to see you review a product that is 1/2 the price of the big name. definitely more affordable for the DIYer.
Great comparison. For me, the Bauer wins. For a professional, the longevity of that hose may matter. Or not. Thanks.
Next they need to make a pressure washer upgrade kit!
If I didn’t already have the rigid kit I’d jump on this 👍
Heading to Harbor Freight right meow
HF Bauer kit is a no brainer for $25. I already have the Rigid kit that I got on sale for $25. But I might just go ahead and grab the Bauer kit when I go to HF.
I just bought the ridgid shop vac with the detachable blower, luckily I didn't order it with the premium kit, now im gonna get this from HF... Great video, thanks for the advise!
Thanks for the over view of the 2 brands!
Just picked this kit up! Great comparison video brother!
No brainer Josh. At $25 the Bauer wins hands down, wins going away and spanks the Rigid like a orangeheaded stepchild.
The little extra piece looks like it would fit the small Bauer vacuum (what I have) and maybe even stick vacs
the tiny extra piece in the bauer is to attach hoses together to make a long one.
The bristles in my bauer already started coming out, had to return it, worthwhile experiment but i will stick to rigid for now
Love this, thanks for the info and review. All my stuff is black and red so this is perfect.
The Red is so much better. The color alone sold me.

Thank you so much for this video متشکرم از شما آقای محترم
Just bought this detailing kit along with a 3 gal Bauer shopvac for $50 + tax.. thats as much as the Rigid detailing kit on its own!
Your reviews are absolutely excellent. Thanks
Good luck. This out of stock all over LA and won't be back until July. It's June 1st. Gonna get the rigid out of necessity.
Great stuff here.. nice to know I think i need to grab one soon. I'll save the money for sure as its doing same job.
