My kiddo came in to watch and asked why the forestry area roads looks like a sock. 😆 Great video Biffa!!
😂
Your kiddo is smart, I really thought the same, also thought Biffa was building a race track, this shape is similar to Italy F1 track (Monza) 😂 😂
@@GBLecci make Monza for a good industry area lol
@@GBLecci I actually started wondering if he could challenge himself to make the next Tea-opolis have leaf shaped roads or something!
Reminded me more of Monza
Anybody else talks like Biffa in their head when playing the game? "Tell you what, I think we can just squeeeeeze in a tiny little Oh my godness me, what the giddy aunt is wrong with people, hugo there and bish, bash, bosh, quick sippa tea, thats peeeerfect" :D Great video Biffa!
😂 well I know I do 👍
I feel like you forgot "That is BRILLIANT!" and of course the obligatory "fan-flippin-tastic"
bish, bash, bosh... works outside of the game also :)
@@philr5523 Yearh, but I rarely do anything ingame deserving of those exclamations ;)
Don't forget the "niiiiiiiiiiiice"
"Teeny tiny car park" he says as he makes a massive one lol. For context, I am a village girl, so any car park with more than 50 spaces is massive to me. 5 is small, 10 is normal, 20-50 is big & 50+ is massive.
in my village even 5 spaces is massive :P
@@ThePostalGril okay, that must be a super tiny village 😂 Mine has 10 parking spaces at the train station & our apartment complex actually has a big car park with about 45 spaces. But the rest of the village doesn't have car parks.
There are still villages?
@@cosmicrider5898... I don't know what to say to that 😅
@@flowerdolphin5648 typically if you have "apartments" (might be a language thing here...) you are not in a village. I would say your getting big town to small city there.
Where I grew up, 30 years ago, I would say my area was a village (cottages, mining terrace housing + small school + one line train station +church/pub of course any English village has those!)
Now we have blocks of high rised houses in the centre (still the original village area too) with then flats and detached houses in the new areas (which used to be farmland).
That is a small-medium town.
Saying that car parks? Not sure how many spaces but are biggest is near our park areas and thats near a palace (tourism) where you have more pubs, hotels, a bigger train station etc.
I really think it is time for a big university campus and some big office centre, maybe IT cluster? I think with a big need for the industry it is just perfect timing.
That's what I was thinking too. Maybe a large university campus in the middle of a large residential/IT area? Then the new students can go straight to work 😂
Campus DLC. We could use some large residential area like a condominium, and large commercial shopping mall too
Would be cool if the tree choice had different effects, such as alder making little income but raising citizen happiness (as alder is good for local crafts and small scale businesses), beech making decent profit and keeping the environmentalists content, while conifer makes lots of money but is bad for PR.
Nice idea 👍
That is a good idea!
Those are good ideas - but our computers already melt with the amount of variables the game has to track/simulate :)
Maybe as multicore processors continue to come down in price they can deliver a new engine with the follow on to Cities:Skylines that will take multithreading to the next level and allow for extra areas of simulation like your idea of resource customization. I do like it!
@@DocNo27 true, my computer just about manages 30fps as is.
@@DocNo27 The engine isn't the problem - Unity supports multi threading already - The problem is that writing multi threaded code is difficult.
Hopefully they can take advantage of some of the newer systems in Unity for Cities Skylines 2 to help e.g. the Job System & DOTS.
I am impressed with how you can pump these out day after day with the same level of enthusiasm. You are a machine! Horky borky! :)
Thankyou 👍😁
After starting a floundering forestry district, I now have a clue of how to make it correctly. Thanks Biffa! Very entertaining!
I think this new area deserves a rail line with both passenger & freight stations for people from the far end of the city + forestry product export.
You've accomplished more in this one vidio than I have in all the hours I have spent in the game! I had no idea there is so much strategy in setting up industry areas. Thanks to you I now understand a lot more of the optional buildings and their uses. I'm off to take the bulldozer to some of my forestry and farming areas to make them more efficient. Thanks for sharing Biffa 👍
This was my favourite episode of Biffa so far! Idk why, but I love wood, mainly because I'm learning about wood in DT. I've always wanted to manage a foresty area in cities skylines, but I don't have the industries DLC yet, so this was great. Also, create a modular houses factory in that space that wasn't used, it's one of the bigger factories
The Printing Press Factory should be called "The Tea Times". ☕ Cheers Biffa!
I was watching your last episode and wondering when will biffa upload,
You uploaded in the notification came thank you for uploading.😀😀😀😀😀
You're welcome 😄
@@BiffaPlaysCitiesSkylines ring that bell notification!
Yeeeeehhh.
You know it’s a nice lazy Saturday afternoon when Biffa’s new video drops. Now all I need is a “cuppa” tea.
I remember day one of teaport
I'm amazed by the skill of the developers of this game. The seamless way the traffic deals with real-time alterations of the situation without going all horky borky is very impressive to me as a programming noob. And the scale! We're just looking at a TINY portion of the map and it's already intricate and busy...
"son, you need to go to school and finish college"...."naaaah, I'm waiting for Biffa to make policy - school's out"
Always appreciative of seeing accessible parking with wide spaces!
Another successful industry area. Love it. The traffic in this industry is just magic.
Great look to the industry area! Really like the town you’ve built within the area! Looks fantastic!! :)
As you are still importing a good near half of your timber, I think it would be worthwhile increasing the number of production buildings (plantations, sapling fields etc) and/or upgrading to the larger variants to cater for the increased demand. A short term cost of course creates worthwhile savings and long-term profit, meaning more tea leaves to spend later on!
He's already producing about twice as much as he needs. The importing is due to how the game handles logistics when you produce far more of a resource than you need.
Great use of the new area! I'm sure the perfectionists are throwing a fit, but the rest of us are happy to see some of your work!!!
Biffa, your videos are some of the most soothing on youtube. Sometimes I don't even watch, I just let the dulcet tones of your voice wash over me in the background while I'm working; I don't know exactly what you're building, I can't see what it looks like, but it's simply reassuring to know that you're out there getting it built and keeping the traffic under control.
Amazing! Super busy industry! I love it!
Yet another fantastic build. Just as I was thinking of the workers and kiddos needing some sports recreation; there goes Biffa plopping down some pitches. Fantastic!
I love watching your videos either in bed at the end of the day or in the morning before I do anything else. Always part of a good day
Thanks for providing me with hours of entertainment!!! Also inspiring me with some of my recent building and traffic math lol always a pleasure!!
I was refreshing your channel and waiting for that upload my dude! Right on time BIFFA FOR THE WIN!!
Enjoy 😁
love the way you constructed this in all one video. Fantastic use of time and a pleasure to watch! If I may suggest placing the cargo train station in the remaining open area near the highway/roundabout. Could even add a passenger train area as well.
Wow, even industry districts are so beautiful) Thank you for inspiration, Biffa! Every time after your new video I want to go to my city and make it more beautiful)
👍
I loved the music speed build of the roads and a explanation after
I’ve been watching this series for awhile now and I can say you have earned a subscriber for sure! Love the videos. All the way from Canada.
Excellent little forestry village!
Loving the new area. Especially the winding roads
Very satisfying build, looks great and feels realistic and it all works within the game!
I just started for the first time, I'm about 5 hrs into my first build. Frankly this vid, your skills have blown my mind haha
Thanks 👍 😊
Do you still have empty houses in this part of town ? Because I'm looking for a new place to live, and work the wood.
Anyway, that is a gold looking are. Nice job, as usual, Biffa. 👌😎
Was waiting for the one lane one-way road at the first part of the industry area to be upgraded, and finally in a time-lapse, it was.
Good entertainment for a wet afternoon. At the least the rain helps those trees 💚
The long wait is over. Worth the wait Biffa! 😊
Sweet! Nice work as always, mate. Thank you, always educational for Skylines.
So i was rebuilding my zoned forestry the other day, which i thought was taking up a huge area, little did i know... These buildings are so big i had to almost double the zone because of those pesky workers barracks and maintenance buildings.
Or maybe i have too many of them 🤔
I also got the idea to separate the unique factories from the zones and put them closer to the city since they don't have to be in the zoned area. Also since they use more materials i guess it would be more effective to just set up cargo train lines from all zones to them instead of having trucks blocking up the highways (which they are not thanks to Hugo and co.)
Btw Loved the lapses as always.
I'm building a forestry area in my lets play too! Great minds think alike. *Love your content Biffa!*
Forestry is my favorite kind of industry to do.
As backwards as it may sound, i love nature. And i love forests. And i also love woodworking. They're all therapeutic concepts to me. And i find the idea of owning my own logging/woodworking company equally so.
So having it on a larger scale in this game, or overseeing a district of other such companies is sufficient.
Plus this is the only industry type that doesn't pollute. :)
Love the little area you have made keep up the great work
Best part of waking up is a fresh cuppa Biffa in my sub feed.
Been going through all your vids! Just started playing and am loving it, thanks for the content
Glad you enjoy it! Thank you :-)
It IS a thing of beauty!
Great video - when my cities have Industries they're always a mess of simultaneous no inputs / nowhere to sell materials problems. Time to reconsider warehouse layout and other things in those cities.
I just started watching this series yesterday, now I'm here. Now i'm gonna click the bell button to watch the next episode!
Thankyou and enjoy 😁👍
Very nice Forestry area I got to say!
Was last to the party. Finally caught up. Notifications on!
Ferry Stop?
Yay Teaport 😁 gonna go get myself some lunch and relax with this video 😌
Love the way this looks, breaking away from grid layout makes it look so much more natural sometimes.... Great job on industry layout!?
1:56 Crooked highway. Blasphemy!
15:03 The truck slides under the road. Witchcraft!
35:00 Cozy forestry area. Warm cup of Tea!
Yasssss Biffa saves a soggy Saturday afternoon 🥳 the district painting is a thing of beauty. I say well done sir!
Enjoy 😁
I feel like I'm finally caught up on these now after getting them in a random order the whole time!
Biffa, I like how you've packed this area. It looks quite realistic... 👍
This guy who sounds like Jared Harris is a great City Skyline builder, subscribed!!
Don't forget fire coverage with all that flammable wood around!
I was thinking the same thing - then I noticed in the slow mode fly over at the end, during the night there was a fire watch tower. So he had it covered ;)
@@DocNo27 thanks!
I really wanted to see that big factory go in!
Absolute Banger of a vid
Thanks Biffa - just the thing to brighten up a wet Saturday afternoon. As the village is now bigger and busier, perhaps the villagers would like some bike lanes along the main road so that they can cycle safely to work, and some more bus stops for travelling into the city?
I can't remember if you have already done "The Lungs of the City" for Teaport, but I think that would be a big attraction for the new area.
I love it!
I think it needs more trees around the "sock" tho
Maybe even ents would like it
32:55, middleish: Anarchy Driving, or "I don't care about your silly lanes." Twice, even.
33:30, near upper edge: "Turning" lanes in both directions, but they all go straight ahead because the side road is one way/exit only.
33:46, middleish: Forgot to do the "dedicated turning lanes" trick.
Awesome video keep up with the good work 🙂 👍
Seen every city skyline video from you and I'll keep watching them even if I don't play the game myself. I just love how you build your city's and it's a joy to watch. Greeds from Germany. Keep it up Biffa.
Thankyou 👍😁
Same here. From Germany as well.
Nice content ☺️
"Thats not the most efficient use of space, but I like it." Words I can never bring myself to say. Or at least rarely can manage to utter.
another awesome teaport episode loved it
It actually feels good being one of the first ones to comment.
I hate bein in this situation, because i ate his videos far too fast.. i cant wait for the next episode biffa, i really love this town and what youve done..
Thank you for adding a carpark for all those workers!!!
Looks awesome. I just build my own area and it now holds 3500 workers. Deffenitly needed to build an adjacent town to supply the workers for that
hey Biffa since you love Roundabouts, build one with 4 lanes highway road and connect it with 2x2 lane roads (4x). this baby is magic, even without traffic manager! (good for PS4/Xbox)
without traffic manager it is important to take 2x2 lane not 3x3
also for my fellow console players
use right way only for 6 lane roads to have dedicated right turning lanes, it hurts to see 1000 cars stand in 1 lane but 6 lanes possible :D you can also use (if you have mass transit) 1x2 road.
Also make left turns on 6 lane roads, which gives you also dedicated left lane and your traffic will go smooth AF.
OMG thanks for that mod. more effective transfer mod
Looking good Biffa. Have you been to a forestry production area before? Those industries are very noisy with the buzzing of saws and machinery,. You may want to move the barracks over to the right side close to the main gate house where it is more quite. They have to get their beauty sleep. That will free up some space for your new stuff to go then.
Wooo nice progress!
Been watching your videos for years now, your always my first go to for information. I wish I was able to send you my city for your opinion and some tweaking because your the best biffa
Thank you Robert Baker :-)
Great series BTW, feels like Biffa videos of old 👍
Greatings Mr Biffa,i watch your vods for weeks now and after years of not playing Citys Skyline i load all the mods you have and give it a go..till today i only played it vanilla and what shoud i say,its a disaster XD
Half the mods i have are turned of,some of them dont work,it doesnt show me the oil, forest areas any more and if i try to level out some beach areas my whole city goes under water o.O
Respekt for your gaming skills, this looks easeyer then it is
Greatings from Germany
Biffa, I love the content. Please keep it up. By any chance could you go through your factories for all the industry you have done and place down any factories you haven't placed down already. Thanks
Cup of tea in bed with Biffa in the morning, best way to start the day! 😊
Your new district looks almost like the F1 circuit at Monza, in Italy
Raise the speed limit.
Is there a "racing park" mod or something out there? It would be really neat to have scheduled races like we have with concerts, sports, etc
Very cool auto save sips 🍵
Always a pleasure to wake to your vids Biffa. Much love doode✌️✌️
Thank you 👍😁
my only comment: you zip through things, making it difficult for me to follow along, and often i feel a tad lost. I end up having to watch many videos (which provide "oh, well i didn't know that, coulda said in that last vid i watched!" moments). Perhaps an indepth look at one thing at a time. this game is so very involved, and it's hard to get a grip of it, and i'm sure even harder to make a video dedicated to one topic. but i am loving it and these vids! :D thank you.
There's a wonderful asset that I use all the time that takes a highway to a 6 lane road and it looks great.
I like how the city is growing organically around the river
perfectly splendid
Biffa Bingo ? Why the heck not !
Love the series. I did a "follow along with Biffa" build. Learnt some things along the way.
Thanks Biffa. Cracking entertainment
Thank you Digi Dave :-)
Excellent update! I really like the new area. A few local houses with the schools out policy is a great way to get more unedited workers - I must. try that too.
Did you put a pedestrian path from the monorail to the concert/event area? :)
Looks great as always Biffa! And thanks for the reminder to make myself some tea! ☕️
How long did it take in real time to get from the start to five stars?
again, a job well done biffa!
The area must be called "little It(e)aly", surely :). Also, if i may suggest, make a connection, to let them out/in at the top, maybe where the barracks are.
You should ban heavy traffic through the village. Also add a fire station
Incredible. I started with a Forestry industry zone, and it barely manages to stay profitable, even on this map where everything is forest. My Ag zone, which has to IMPORT grain, does far better.
Nice episode! Please put the modular house factory!
Hi Biffa, i love your channel!!! My too plays citiesSL. Four the next episode it’s time to ad a Airport!! 🛩
oh how i miss this city
I find with education needs and building new communities set them with education teirs from no education up to university levels yes people will travel for it but if you plan for it youll find the jobs will be well balanced and your city has more diversity for levels of buildings from having rough looking areas to areas that look high society and and middle class, insulting maybe slightly, chances you'll see this and maybe make a city using this strategy very slim, love your videos biffa and this has helped me get through isolation and my sleepless nights i watch your videos the otherday from 3am all the way until 9pm when i passed out asleep haha
