  • probably one of the easiest things I've ever replaced on a motorcycle or car! got this part from PartsGeek, the part number was cp937
sorry guys I just noticed that my video got cut short before I started the car, it did start perfect! then I took it to the gas station and put gas in it and held my breath after filling up, I press the start button, it fired right up with no long cranking! perfect! but there is the engine code light that never went off so I have to clear that when my code reader, clearer gets here.
1.5 year update. That part went out after year and half. Just replaced again with Duralast part from Autozone. That last part went out faster then the one that was in there. Little warning and then stranded my wife twice. Advise to replace asap if you put that same one in.

This is exactly what I have experienced with our 2016 MKX. Great explanation and solution to this common problem that is apparent in a lot of Lincoln and Ford Ecoboost engines!!

Exactly what I needed. Great symptom explanation. This is the only video I’ve seen of this issue. Searched for like 2 months .

Glad it helped! Yeah I didn't see anything out there specifically for this model, so glad it's a much easier fix than the video that I did find on a different model though! Oh and by the way, I have had zero problems since! I do not get any symptoms after filling up the gas tank like I used to since I've owned the car! I'm pretty sure when we took it to the Steeler ship when we first bought it, they did not replace the whole unit

Exactly what is happening to my 2015 MKZ. Thanks Brody.

Okay let me know how repair goes, I think the Z though is a little bit more difficult to get to, I thought I saw RUclips video on that

Have your received any "error codes" or check engine light since you replaced the assembly? I am getting a P144C after I replaced the purge valve solenoid assembly.....I'm confused!!

Any idea if this part is in a similar location on the 2017 Lincoln MKX (2.7 Turbo motor)?

My guess is it's probably exactly the same, I think 16 was the first year they made this type of MKX and it went clear until the Nautilus took over

@john and Our MKXs’ actually require 87 or higher. Any luxury vehicle like this or a turbo vehicle should be using mid grade or higher. It’s stuck open because the engine isn’t getting the correct combustion so you will actually spend more on gas! Also everyone you should also clean all sensors such as the mass air flow sensors and get a can from autozone and do it every 4 oil changes or every 20k. 2.7 should have around 4-6 and the 3.7 not to sure! I have had both engines on one 2016 and 2017!

I don't know I've always put the lowest grade at the pump available whether it's 87 or above I'll have to check, I've been running that gasoline in it for 80,000 miles and it runs like a champ so, but I'll look into it

    • @johnk12345100

So you had me questioning myself on gasoline, and yes it requires 87 which is the cheapest gas here in the United States at least on the pump. In the manual it specifically says standard regular gasoline 87

Mario, what do you mean a can from AutoZone. A can of what? Thanks

@@vinnierogers6550 I think he is speaking about fuel injector cleaner or sea foam. Again though makes no sense, I put 87 Grade gas in which owners manual calls for. Above is a very common problem with this engine. Thank God its this easy to fix!
