    ► WHO AM I?
    I am a Brazilian-American journalist living in Florida. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer. I created this channel to share the beauties of the world... stuff that, for so long, I only kept to myself. Also to help people planning similar trips and to inspire more people to venture out and enjoy life!
    P.S.: The funny guy who appears in the vlogs is my husband, Gordon. He is Canadian-American, and he's actually camera-shy. That's why he's behind the camera most of the time 😉

      Thank you for this video. I visited Adelaide when I was 15 yrs old, stayed almost 3 months for surgeries. It was the place that opened my minds, how big, and beautiful the world is. I then pursued my education in the States, and have lived here for 25 years. My dream is to go back to Adelaide one day, I'd love to meet some of the nurses that took care of me, they were some of the nicest people I ever met in my life. So, thank you for this great video.

      So sorry that your reply has nothing to do with homelessness you know people living on streets, mother's from abusive relationship let's look at what Adelaide looks like on the outside and put aside the people struggling in our street and worry about 2pigs in Rundle mall and the 2 balls that our state cares more about that the people who are struggling.

    • @Mav_F
      @Mav_F 19 дней назад

      @DiLee-xr1yc Sorry that you are going through that. All states have the same problem. I worked as a volunteer with homeless people for 3 years. Unfortunately, some are their own worst enemy. A lot of them rejected accommodation when offered and so on. Just in case you don't know, there are Charities that are paid by the State and Federal Government to help the homeless, and they get paid a lot to do so. So you need to go to the Charities to help you etc. The Adelaide Council might have a list.

    I’m a local and proud to see this video. One of the statues you showed was a woman called Mary Lee (the one in the bonnet). South Australia was the second place in the world to give women the right to vote (New Zealand was the first) and she was a part of that movement.

    I'm glad you enjoyed Adelaide. I moved here from Sydney over 30 years ago and although I still call Sydney home I love Adelaide. There is so much to do and see without having to travel great distances. From the centre of Adelaide 45min drive north you are in Australia's biggest and best wine districts. To the east 25 minutes drive your at the beach. And to the east into the hills you have so many sights and tourist towns to visit. Adelaide has it all.

      As an Asian and a gay person, I visited Adelaide for 1 week last year, exploring the culture and dating scene. I felt like people were mostly keeping to themselves. When I first entered a train, I didn't know how to make a payment for and validate a ticket. I was obviously confused, and nobody really cared til I asked someone for an instruction. He reluctantly helped and ignored me afterwards. Admittedly, I failed in securing a date or relationship. I like your profile picture. Would you be interested in getting to know me? 😅😅😅

    From my own experience, people in Adelaide are reserved and not that friendly to others. I remember saying "Thank you. Have a good day!" to 2 women, one didn't care to respond, the other stared at me like I was dumb. It's hard to start a conversation while you're walking the streets.

    Algumas dicas pra vc melhorar ainda mais o seu inglês:
    -Quando vc falar A LITTLE OVER imagine que tem um L na frente do OVER, então a pronúncia é A LITTLE LOVER (a lêralôuvar), o mesmo vale pra A LITTLE EARLY= A LITTLE LEARLY (a lêralârli)
    -KNOWN tem o ditongo ÔU, então a pronúncia é NÔUN, não NÓN;
    -INSIDE começa com o som ÊN, não com ĨN, então a pronúncia é ÊNSAID, não ĨNSAID.
    Ótimo vídeo!!!

    Actually the heritage buildings have got more to so with the fact SA was (and still is compared to other states) rather poor and a lot of these buildings sat empty and run down for years and years. When adelaide did start to develop 30 years ago the city council imposed very harsh restrictions on developers to restore facades and preserve as much as they could

    I'm revisiting you're interesting video of my home town.
    You're a professional!
    Thank you for at least this one thing,
    you mentioned that old title of Adelaide being called the city of churches.
    As one wit put it, "I think Rome might have something to say about that."
    Then immediately pointed out the important fact that South Australia was the first colony that promoted freedom of religion.
    It's unfortunate to think that many locals do not realise Adelaide's place in the history of freedom of expression.
    One alternative explanation I heard for the label was that you could navigate your way home according to the churches between the pub and home.
    The odd thing about this was that at the turn of the 20th century there was something like 99 pubs within the square mile (why not 100 I hear you asking?).
    Some navigation was obviously required it seemed. Not.
    Many of the old pubs, some of them very grand, very beautiful, were demolished in the 70's and 80's, but nonetheless you can recognise many of the repurposed buildings once you get your eye in.
    Anyhow, thank you for your informative and entertaining vids.

    Last Friday around 1615, on the Mt Barker to Adelaide section of freeway, two enormous gum trees fell across the freeway. I was travelling in the other direction and witnessed the aftermath at 1630. There's not been a word of that on main stream media in South Australia. I'm hoping it's not because it was the first afternoon of school holidays and considered bad for tourism? Potentially horrific outcome. I'm concerned for the 50 odd vehicles crammed up against those trees. Ambos were on their way as I neared Barker. Be hard for them to get through from that end however. I smell a rat with the lack of coverage. There was nothing on any traffic sites.
