how heavy is the bullet of 338 lapua ? and here I mean the whole bullet, with charge, case, projectile, prime everything, because I can't find anything on the internet about it ,I'm interested in the total weight, especially the one with the 16.2g projectile (250grains)

    • @Adam-nv9zo

@xd.5.45 As far as I can figure, based on all components, it would be approximately 48g.

You should change the angle of the glass to see if shooting though the glass at 45degrees changes the trajectory of the bullet

Kool video. The windows are rated ballistic, and the nomenclature is a ballistic window, not bulletproof, like a flack jacket isn't bulletproof. That's what you'd learn working with tactical vehicles. Never the less the ballistic windows performed well. We changed windows when they became cloudy, lamination separation, crack/s, get technical even a chip, then recycle with metal scrap.

I think you are basically right about the movement/penetration thing. I also believe you loose a small amount of penetration. If you line up empty soda cans in a row and shoot them , at some point the round isn’t penetrating them, but pushing them out of the way. So you loose that little bit of punch.

correct, the impact energy has already dissipated once the object moves. and fun fact, the movement of an object after it is hit by another object is the speed of sound in that object. that is simply the speed of energy inside that object.

Taofledermaus also used to say that the interaction between target and bullet is over before the target starts move. I believed them for years.
Then they tested it, and didn't get the expected results. It wasn't a night and day difference, but there was a noticable difference.
They don't tout that idea on his channel anymore.
