    What you do with your parts is what I do with bolts I put them a couple threads in after the part comes off so I don't lose them or put a short bolt where a long one needs to be

    Aluminum heads can drop valve seats when they are overheated.

    Hey a quick tip for you guys. Make sure you clean the intake out really good. There’s gonna be pieces of the valve seat inside there and if you don’t clean it out they go right back in the engine.

      how bad was the cylinder wall scored I have one that has the same problem and mine has some scoring I was wondering if I could get by using this method to repair it instead of a total rebuild also thanks for the video

      it had some. as long as it’s not gouged real bad it should be fine. you’ll have to hone the cylinder anyway so it’ll clean up some. make sure wash the intake out with gasoline and get all the pieces of metal out of there. good luck. thanks for watching

    I’m doing this currently on my 2005 Chrysler 300 and you can lift the engine with a jack underneath on the transmission

      oh yeah i’m sure that’ll work. i just thought since i had the materials on hand. i also didn’t really want to put the strain on the transmission mount. but that should work 👍

      @@ottohansen4008 yeah I’m just putting it out there cause I don’t have money to buy a cherry picker that I’m only gonna use once and I don’t have stuff laying around to make what you did

    Quick question did you use hone to bore? My value dropped on two cylinders. It's my first time building an engine just thought I get a few tips

      you wanna look really close for physical damage like a crack or real heavy up and down scoring. after that if there is no ring ridge and good visible cross hatch your good. you can use a hone to do a light clean up but don’t remove to much material. good luck 🍀

      I wouldn't say it's a 100% certain rule, but most of the dropped valve seats on the pre 09 5.7L Hemis are the result of an overheating event: like a failed water pump, low coolant level, stuck thermostat, etc.

    Did you have the drop the exhaust to do this?

    • @ottohansen4008
      @ottohansen4008 2 года назад +1

      i unbolted the manifolds from the exhaust. then i left the manifolds on the heads. just take the manifolds and heads out all in one piece. good luck
