I really appreciate this rebuild video. 5.7 in my '05 Durango nearly locked up the other night. I've never tore this far into a large engine (small engines and tiny motorcycles only), and this makes it seem not scary at all.
Now I just need the cash for a stroker kit, different cam, and some other upgrades while I'm in there!
    Thanks again!

Thanks brother, super helpful! I appreciate that you were specific with this video- you went right into the meat of torque specs and steps. I appreciate you didn’t get sidetracked with seals. etc. Very much engine build tips- great for people who have worked on a motor before. I’ve do te 350 sbc, 351w, in-line 4 bmw, etc- but it was great seeing the guts of the hemi. Thanks bud!! I owe you a 6 pack

I have had all these things done aside from new pistons and pushrods. Basically from cam and lifters timing and all. I keep getting idle dropping to 500rpms even with idle speed set to +100. It doesn’t run rough or nothing just kind of sits and runs smooth and quite. First time I though it was off.

I recommend not using an impact for the mains, even though you use the torque wrench, the torque wrench will only apply up to the specified load. You cannot guarantee that the impact you used to snug the bolts did not push them beyond 20 foot pounds. I noticed that when you were torquing all already at 20 foot pounds and I would not be surprised if most of them are well beyond that. just a heads up

I blew rod out the size of my block on my 2011 ram 1500 5.7 hemi im thinking about buying a long block. What all would I have to switch over from old engine to new? Would it be hard to do? I’ve never done vehicle engines but I’ve done atv engines before.

Long block you will have to swap over valve covers, intake and exhaust manifolds, flex plate, harmonic balancer, sensors, and sometimes timing cover and oil pan
