I remember playing the demo for this game over and over again as a 13 year old on my Xbox 360....times were simpler then

any game that lets you ridiculously customize your character and they appear in cutscenes is a win in my book. dead rising, saints row, etc. makes me laugh every time.
I loved the silly multiplayer games. That you played for under 5 minutes and made a fat million for in-game money. It was great. Multiplayer that rewards the single player.
I remember playing this game a long while ago. I struggled so much with the zombies, but goddamn it was so much fun to explore and mess around in it

@@RobertoHx Oh man I believe it! She gave me more trouble than her owner for sure! Heck taming her is a bit of a hassle at times too because of how quick she is, so just putting down a steak, can possibly cost you your life lol. I'd say it's worth it though, as Snowflake is pretty cool.
@@necrodancer1876 aye it's three steaks, but honestly sometimes it takes me a few go's because so often shell run right past the steak and attack or run away as soon as steak is placed and she won't return unless provoked

As much as I love Dead Rising 2, I prefer the Off The Record version where you can play through a different story as Frank West. There's a mode where you can just explore the mall and fight all the zambos you want with no time limit, and Chuck appears in both modes as a boss fight, replacing the a-hole on the modified Dirtbike that has chainsaw handlebars.
@@annoyanceking Yeah, if memory serves, it works the same way as the survival mode from the original Dead Rising, where survivors and psychopaths will appear all over the map as hostiles. Only this version of that mode doesn't have the constantly depleting health bar as a timer. Your free to just wander the mall, taking pictures and killing zombies. It even starts with a funny little cinematic of Frank just messing around in the mall and taking about how he's on vacation.
Off the record is fun but it feels pointless considering that it’s a non canon game. Idk that’s just me.

Playing older DR games, especially this one, just makes Dead Rising 4 hurt so much more (cuz it sucks ass)

got to love how they play it straight in the cut scenes No matter how ridiculous of an outfit you have on. That in itself is comedy gold
Dead Rising 2 and 3 are among the best zombie games ever but Dead Rising 4 was a big step back and it was a forgettable experience.
Wait dead rising 4 I only remember dead rising 3 cause it was the first ever batch of Xbox one games to come out in 2013 with games like Forza motorsport 5 and sunset overdrive 😁
1 and 2 i get.. But 3? Only thing good was the one dlc..
@@Mabswer It's amazing for playing it in chronological order with the other games. The only issue I had, was it was far too easy. The DLC were also really good.
4 was terrible but I still liked it better than 3

The Chef fight is still one of the worst programmed boss fights in any series. There are plenty of times he will start eating and go from near death to full health and you can't interrupt him. Or the fact he can block all damage with a frying pan.
I struggled so hard with the chef!!!! Took me like 30 trys lol! Being an adult doesn't make it easier..
it's not too bad once you know its exploits. Use corners to do peek shots while blocking his throwing pans and plates, use bullets or throwables to stop him from healing, don't bother shooting or hitting while he's in his block stance (they don't hit, and it leaves an open window for him) Defiler is a melee as you can spam his jump attack while using roll to time escapes
Just hit with ranged weapon to interrupt him lil bros
The game is painfully janky to be fair. It's 10/10 ideas all the way but most of it is 2/10 in how they implemented it.
Always found it funny how the protesters were protesting the governments treatment of the zombies, yeah we’re perfectly fine with just letting him be around to possibly chew peoples faces off.

Dead Rising Off The Record was the last game I played on my PS3 before it died. I played the hell out of it until I'd done everything. I loved those Knife Gloves, it was like playing a low budget Wolverine.

This game was my first dead rising game I played not knowing what it was at game stop for 20 bucks to this day I’ve never regretted it.

Yeah, I prefer the Off The Record version of this game where you play as Frank West. Because there's a mode where you can just play in the mall indefinitely right from the start and you can take the progress over to the main game whenever you want. Also, Chuck appears as a boss fight, replacing the D-bag that rides on the Terror is Reality modified Dirtbike.

Dead rising 2 was the best time when I was younger me and my friend would do dumb things just for fun and even act like shop keepers telling zombies to talk there items and get out
I still wish to see any of these games go beyond one video AND see you do a full series of any so we can enjoy your shenanigans yo the full extent

i remember dominating in Multiplayer when i got the game on the PS3. i made a legit name for myself on there! they called me "Patient Zero" because i was always first, no joke!
there was even a little legend of me spreading around for a while. one of my favorite theories i got to read was that i was a survivor from the future where an actual zombie apocalypse had occurred, and that i had mastered survival because of Dead Rising 2 lmfao! i loved reading those.
too bad noone is gonna believe in this nowadays, as most of the Reddit Posts about my old legend are gone due to the subreddit being deleted after being inactive for over like 5 years.
still, i loved those days when i got home from school, turned on my PS3 and went online to DOMINATE on TIR just to use the money on my original savegame that i, to this day, STILL have NOT gotten past getting the First does of Zombrex for Katey lmfao! this gave me such a nostalgia trip dude. i think i am gonna pluck out my old dusty PS3 Slim and go for another run through Dead Rising 2 for old times sake.
One of my personal favorite things about this game was riding a slice cycle that was so much fun😊

Honestly not a bad game always wanted to get platinum on it but by god some of the achievements on it felt impossible to do. The combo weapon variety was awesome the boss fights even tho some were kinda tedious felt great to beat overall a pretty solid experience. Also the online portion was fun as hell!
The memories may fade a bit but I'll always remember my time with Dead Rising 2.
Ay man if you want some sick game recommendations then you definitely have to check out Asuras Wrath. It can be unconventional at times but its so worth it.

Amazing storyline’s (yes all different paths, they are so unique and replayable)
Bosses were amazing, they weren’t as difficult to fight as Dead Rising 1, but they were still really fun.
Awesome zombie evolution too, as in when the military arrives and the gas turns them into scarier , stronger and faster zombies.
I remember walking out of the safe room that first time and seeing the green gas all throughout the mall, I skipped the cutscenes back then so I was very confused .

I want there to be a zombie survival game but the game starts off with a massive number of zombies in the game, and every zombie you kill is removed from that number, so if you spend time killing loads of zombies you can make certain areas safer to traverse, however it'll take ages since the best scenario is to place the player in an environment that has over 1 million infected.
There is Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead, which gives you that. Though it is basically Dwarf Fortress in style and complexity.
A year later but Zomboid can do that. Take it from me though, the idea sounds awesome on paper but it gets repetitive fast.
@@totally_not_a_skeleton4004 killing zombies in a zombie survival can't really be blamed as being bad since it's repetitive, it's like the whole point of the game, however rewarding the players that take their time to kill the zombies in an area by making it safe is a good idea, the second problem would be other survivors, since it's an apocalypse, people aren't bound by laws, so if people hear about your safe zone, they might try to take it from you, or willing to live with you.
