I'd love to see a comparison of your Scamp to the standard Scamp fixtures, and why you made those choices. I've been considering getting a Scamp and I was totally shocked the first time I saw photos of the inside of a 'standard' Scamp - they look sooooo different!
Hello. Just a tip about dealing with rust underneath trucks or trailers. You can use a steel brush to just get the loose stuff out, a brush to dust it off and what I recommend is you use Rust reformer. Rust reformer bonds to the rust and actually makes it really hard preventing the rust to spread, rust reformer is also paintable so after a few coats you can paint it with whatever you want. Just thought I’d say this just in case.
And it comes in a non-spray container as well because its original purpose was to dip tool handles to make them non-conductive and rust resistant. Hence “plasti” (plastic) “dip” (you dip your tool handles in the jar to coat them).
New Tour!!!! All of it!!! DEEP!!! Especially the things that you wouldn't go without. And how you organize your belongings. Love you two!! Thanks for sharing your lives with us. You feel like family!!
could be random, but i just wanted to say how cute it was how often you both compliment each other. it's obvious you both are each other's biggest supporters.
She says I don't know a lot about sewing I just know the turn things inside out and how to make pleats and everything else I would say you know more than the average person
I do sew and yes, she did a marvelous job. The stitches look like the kind that would hold well, assuming she used strong enough thread. And, its pretty easy to do repairs if needed.
13:54 "I had no idea you had any experience with electrical anything." Elsa, the man installed all of the wiring for your solar system. That stuff is an order of magnitude harder than putting in some taillights!
I’ve been missing y’all. The world is a better place with y’all in it and showing us how you live. Any videos are welcome. Sure I’d love to see another detailed inside look at your Scamp, daily routines including making coffee and cooking your meals. And of course enjoying Kamp run wild and free and playing in the snow. It’s your beautiful and peaceful chill personalities which makes these videos heartwarming to watch. Also I love your humor. So yes, keep the videos coming. You might think we get tired of watching your daily life but for those of us who don’t have a Scamp but desperately want one but can’t afford it, I get to camp vicariously through y’all in beautiful Colorado, my favorite place; but other places as well. This is my first post btw but I’ve been watching y’all’s videos for a long time now. Y’all are the best.
I think you’re fine! Don’t worry about what “scamp purists” do, do what works for you financially, timewise , and pleases your sense of style. The Scamp looks amazing and i really like how you “upgraded”. Love the look of PlastiDip! 😄
Elsa, for not knowing allot about Sewing, I think you did one Heck of an awesome job. I'm impressed because most young people have no idea how to sew at all. So you did a Wonderful job.
I JUST CAME ACROSS ONE OF YOUR VIDEOS THIS MORNING AND GUESS WHAT...THAT'S ALL IVE DONE ALL DAY!!! YOU TWO ABSOLUTELY INSPIRE ME!!! THANK YOU FOR DOING WHAT YOU DO, IT IS TRULY NOTHING SHORT OF AMAZING!!! LOOK FORWARD TO MORE!!!
My youngest daughter and her family have set up shop in Colorado. They love it there, they are talking about retirement one day. On a couple of visits, I must say it is a beautiful place. Being from Delaware, my state is as flat as a pancake, and those mountains are just amazing.
Yes, a long and detailed tour. I am fascinated with the whole thing and thinking i would like to buy an older Scamp in future, if i can get one....Yes please.
A tour with all the details! You might need to do a series because I think you have a lot to show. Maybe a set of 30 minute videos? Love your videos and your lifestyle! Love from Oregon.
Yes another tour.. And I Love to see the wonderful Colorado views and just all of it. I have been missing seeing you all I live in Kansas City, Missouri.. and wanting to visit Colorado soon.. COLORADO IS THE BEST PLACE EVER.. CAN NEVER GET ENOUGH.. THE SPOTS YOU ALL FIND ARE THE BEST..DO YOU OR HAVE YOU EVER BEEN BOTHERED BY POLICE OR PARK RANGERS OR GOT TOLD TO MOVE??? And you both did a great job on the Scamp it looks alot better. Don't leave us so long next time.. No but really keep the tours and events chomping our way if you are able...GOD BLESS AND HAVE FUN AND BE SAFE. LIVE EVERY DAY LIKE IT IS your last..
The way you come up with solutions that may or may not work long term, but is affordable enough to give it a try, is exactly what I do when it comes to turning my 2003 Honda CRV and 1999 Ford Ranger into a travel camper type vehicle. Wall insulation board IS wonderful for keep out the cold underfoot. I have used the 2 in. board with a 6 in. memory foam (both easy to contour to the sleeping area of both vehicles) attached (and covered with an old, huge, vinyl tablecloth since mine is only in when we are camping) because my husband cannot sleep if he cannot at least mostly sit up when in bed mode. The wooden platforms some people build are not great for insulation, and the board is lightweight (as you know). Anyway, I loved this video. It is very informative for those of us who may one day consider buying an older Scamp. My favorite part of all of the things you have done to the Scamp is the little furnace/fireplace. A new tour would be great, although I thought your earlier ones were good too. As for tires, I have never been disappointed with any all terrain (or the next thing to it) made by Cooper. I live in Northern Utah and while the small trucks I've owned do well on any Utah road, with the Cooper tires I've put on our CRV, not only do I gain a little more clearance, but they have performed very, very well. Safe and happy travels!
Hi again you two. Just marc again. Is there no end too your talents? You two just amaze me. I'm so glad you are doing what you want. Life's too short not to enjoy. I really enjoy watching you. Keep up the great videos. Marc
Ha! Glad you think so & glad you both found your happy place. Freedom was where you were at. This part is what makes you happy and now you are tied. As much as you let yourself be. Welcome to the club.
For a seasonal skirt, you might look into something flexible that could be rolled or folded up for storage. Just a length of canvas or other fabric (old tent?) You would need to work out a way to secure it (maybe snaps), but it would make a huge difference. Possibly even bubble wrap?
Hi Elsa and Barron! My husband and I really really enjoy all the tips that you share. We are planning to retire and do a lot of camping and would like to do some "Off Road" camping as well. We love all the tips you share they are really helpful and we are taking notes. But we just love how you enjoy making it real for the viewers, in sharing your fun times and not so fun times. We love watching Baron get into a mountain stream /creek or river and lay down in it as he counts the secs. he can stand it before getting out. We also love watching the times Elsa has tried to do the same. Good for you Elsa! We love when she bursts up and out of the water yelling while running back to the Scamp during your Winter camping. We love your recipes, as we are Vegetarian and can duplicate a lot of meals you prepare together and the ingredients you choose. My husband was a manager of a health food store and so he recognizes a lot of the products you use in your cooking. We also (like everyone else) love Camp and all his adventures. He's so loved and spoiled. We love when he's all wrapped up in your blankets like, "you guys might be getting up, but I want to stay in bed". Also when he plays & races around in it and plows through the snow. We loved the video from Camps point of view and the hilarious voice you used for him when he talked throughout the video. We have followed you as often as we can for about a year and a half now. So much continued success to you. And keep making the videos. It's our weekend treat to catch up with you and your adventures. We were surprised to learn that you are thinking about buying some land and perhaps building a home? Where? Around your parents location? Well I guess it will remain a mystery after all you don't want a lot of fans sitting on your porch camped out outside your door. When are you thinking of getting started with this? Then how often will you take Scamp on the road again once you have a land, wheel-less home. I'm sure you will tell us all more about this soon. In the mean time it's a joy to keep up with you an your adventures. You guys are inspiring so may people of all ages. You guys "Rock" !
Love all the updates! Fellow shiba inu owner here - Does he suffer from eye allergies? I only say this because my dogs eyes looked exactly the same: inflamed/irritated and we knew it was allergy related. My vet asked me if we have a wood burning fireplace at home because the fire creates dust and other irritants that are left behind in the air even with good ventilation. His advice was to get a small honeywell air purifier, and vacuming/dusting that area more often. Keep in mind, dogs can smell 120X better than we can so even a little bit can make a difference to them, plus if you don't like more natural treatments, this one is about as natural as it comes.
HECK YEAH SCAMP TOUR! Maybe a bit about what things you keep for travelling, what items work for multiple purposes, and how the new improvements will improve quality of life.
there’s a really cool company called schluter that makes completely waterproofed building materials (mostly made for showers and bathrooms) but they have some awesome waterproof sealants and fabric tape that might work for you guys!!!
I don't know if it's because I always watch you guys on my phone, but today I'm using my laptop and the quality is soooo clear! It honestly beautiful because nature truly pops!
New tour! At LEAST a half hour!! I want a full walk-through, what you guys find to be most necessary and how you store it in the scamp!! Especially the big shelving unit!
I recommend Goodyear Endurance ST tires. They are made in the U.S.A and are the most reliable trailer tires out there. Avoid all the "China Bomb" tires.
Hi , Scampers, Cap'n Rick here in the Port of Lewes, Delaware. Next time you get around to the frame rust problem , find a boat yard or Marine contractor that cleans and removes boat bottom paint. They will come in with their blaster that uses corn husk and baking soda and blow that rust off without hurting the metal, then you can quickly coat it with Rustolium . Nice update. My daughter got tired of paying $1,600 a month and bought a 2018 Pro Master City Tradesman and moved back in with us while her boatbuilder Dad tricked it out. Nice to hear you also have a handy Dad to help! Plus the only rent she pay;s is in Bourbon, beer and pizza's.
Hi folks it’s Norm you may remember me the guy with ALS well I want to offer if you come up to Canada on Vancover Island I have a shop with a lot of wood work and metal work tool and I can weld so you could totally fix it all up
I love the tours best....they inspire me to tidy up pare down reuse and SMILE!. Cooking videos are a close second and of course any footage of healthy happy Kamp us a joy. Thank you.
😊Your husband should be doing -voice overs-, commercials, movie presentations, reading books online, do something with that Amazing voice. Sheesh. I'd listen to him talk all day . 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
YES A NEW TOUR, ALL THE DETAILS OF ALL AREAS OF THE SCAMP..I AM FEELING THE VIBE OF SCAMP LIFE..I TRAVEL AROUND IN MY 1999 ISUZU RODEO, NEVER PLANNED...NOW, IT IS MY LIFESTYLE, I WOULD LOVE TO GAIN MORE TIPS FROM YOU BOTH WITH WHAT I AM IN UNTIL I GO FULL TIME IN A SCAMP POSSIBLY...THANK YOU🤗🐶
We are almost finished updating our 1997 all-aluminum pull-behind trailer. We wanted a Scamp or Casita but couldn't find any used in our area. But ... still found a GREAT trailer that our Chevy Silverado can pull into and over the N America mountains. Planning to set ourselves free from home base next summer! Thanks for being inspirational. :-) (In our 60's, but never too late.)
Re: Star board, the product is impervious to water and moisture but at a cost. First it is very heavy and second it very expensive. Also it's a little hard to find. I live on the coast in a boating area and there are only a couple of sources. Oh and online, shipping is crazy expensive. I think that a better choice is marine or high quality plywood that you can resin, aka epoxy, coat. Seal with 3M 4200, not 5200, and it will out last your needs.
I worked in the plastic industry a few years back and we used a ton of 1/2" 4'X8' sheets of HDPE Sheet (I think its the same as starboard), a 4'X8'X1/2" sheet weighed right at 82 lbs. its fairly easy to find if you know the right places to look. We used to buy a sheet for about 100 bucks, so not too terribly bad.
I have a solution for your roof vent: Tin. I have a scuba trailer that we also use for camping, etc., and one of the first improvements we made to it was installing one of those crank vents. After a couple of years that white plastic broke down and fell apart. I went to Home Depot, bought a small role of the tin flashing that roofers use. I measured the vent size PLUS the amount of overhang I'd need, then cut out the square with tin snips, including extra "wrap around" length (about an inch) at each corner so that when I folded down the edges to create the lip I had a piece at each corner to wrap around to the adjacent lip. I drilled a hole at each corner where the adjacent sides overlapped and bound them together with zip ties (you could use small nuts & bolts or rivets). I drilled the additional holes needed to mount the existing hinge and the crank mechanism. Voila! It now is virtually impervious to weather! I can shoot you a picture if you're interested.
Siete una famiglia meravigliosa, che sa apprezzare la vita all'aria aperta. Con la vostra roulotte, andare a fare i vostri viaggi dove volete. Tutto questo proviene dal vostro cuore e dall'anima che c'è in voi.Buonea Feste. Grazie mille ciao.
You can get higher load range trailer tires so you can run lower pressure without issue for off-road. But don’t run low pressure on extended highway runs. I keep a portable compressor for this reason in my Jeep🙏❤️
Got my 2015 13 foot Scamp about 1 1/2 months ago. It. Had. Never. Been. Washed. I considered the Zep, but the gel coat wasn't that oxidized, just really dirty & I needed to scrape off the lichen growing on the roof. I used Murphy's products & a LOT of elbow grease. I'm a 66 year young woman who got over her fear of going high on a stepladder. Love your videos! More, please! As much as you can give!
New tour please! Idk why humans like seeing other peoples living spaces and how they store stuff, but man is it good entertainment!
Yes! Lol I agree!
Because we are all disorganized. Someone must have the answer.
As for skirting, you can use plastic tarps especially since they have multiple uses. You simply fold them to length to fit your needs.
Try resin on the body and underneath the floor.
🤣🤣🤣👍👍
Q: “How much detail do you want on our next tour video?”
A: An excruciating amount!
All the things!
I'd love to see a comparison of your Scamp to the standard Scamp fixtures, and why you made those choices.
I've been considering getting a Scamp and I was totally shocked the first time I saw photos of the inside of a 'standard' Scamp - they look sooooo different!
Not too much, but yes we want to see all the things LoL ♥️
heck yeah! full tour- drawers and all!
Complete details please!!!
we want to know everything i literally mean everything.....and there's no time limit.....make it 1 hour or 2 we're gonna watch it
Agreed

Agreed
Yes! But also please make sure to include plenty of lengthy footage of Barron’s beautiful eyes. I could definitely watch hours of THAT.
@@mnamous9823 LOL I just dropped in for the comments.

@@bryan314 I’ve been a PlastiDip appreciator for years . But I didn’t know it came in a spray can application ! Thanks !
omg!
Would love a total geek out of what makes the list for keeping in the scamp.
Live in Colorado. Thornton to be exact. Lived downtown for a few years but also lived in Boston for a few years.

Why does this channel not have million subscribers! Why I say this is I literally watch all your videos multiple times!
Spread the word.
Because they haven’t created community appeal for a million people. The subset probably is smaller than a million anyway.
Definitely want a video on an updated scamp!! Maybe a little in depth. I've been missing you guys! The Scamp looks great 😁
to be honest if I saw that yall posted an hour long scamp tour, I would gladly watch all of it!!
New Tour!!!! All of it!!! DEEP!!! Especially the things that you wouldn't go without. And how you organize your belongings. Love you two!! Thanks for sharing your lives with us. You feel like family!!

every time i watch you guys i notice how much you really listen to each other when you're talking and it's so refreshing
I love tours and how people utilize available storage.
Me too! Plus you learn more tips and tricks as you go, I’d love to see how things have changed.
No Elk?
That stitch you used is very aptly called a blanket stitch. Good job.
Looks good! I think a 20ish-minute Scamp Tour featuring what you feel is most important for your lifestyle, would be perfect! Stay warm & safe!
Agreed that would be perfect!
Totally agree
So great to see you both again! Was wondering how things were going and if you were all ok!!
could be random, but i just wanted to say how cute it was how often you both compliment each other. it's obvious you both are each other's biggest supporters.

I do sew and yes, she did a marvelous job. The stitches look like the kind that would hold well, assuming she used strong enough thread. And, its pretty easy to do repairs if needed.
I love watching your tours! I'd absolutely love to see a new one and especially a detailed one.
Geek it out..would love to see a tour of all storage spots.
I would watch a 2 hour movie of you guys so geek out to the max!

You're right on the money with the turkey knife. It's actually a tool we used in the foam factory I worked in. It's especially helpful tight spaces.

That Star board is mad heavy. Def go with some marine plywood and coating.
Elsa has such a cute little girl look to her. She will always look young
Agreed!!! Wholesome looking young lady!!! Cute hairstyle
Small crowd probably; I’d like to see the trunk of the Subaru; and it’s content... pros/cons ect....
I just re organized and added some new tools. Would love to show what’s going on in there.
Hi you two it looks like the inside changed some so yes a new inside ture would be great
You can get higher load range trailer tires so you can run lower pressure without issue for off-road. But don’t run low pressure on extended highway runs. I keep a portable compressor for this reason in my Jeep🙏❤️
Can someone tell me what the song is at the end of the video? I feel like it’s a remix of another song which I’m also trying to find.
I’ve learned so much watching makeover campers🙏🙏🙏❤️
Got my 2015 13 foot Scamp about 1 1/2 months ago. It. Had. Never. Been. Washed. I considered the Zep, but the gel coat wasn't that oxidized, just really dirty & I needed to scrape off the lichen growing on the roof. I used Murphy's products & a LOT of elbow grease. I'm a 66 year young woman who got over her fear of going high on a stepladder. Love your videos! More, please! As much as you can give!
