And the lyrics are just so on point. Such a fantastic melody. Same back beat as Smashing Pumpkin 1979, I know that at least. Haha. I love playing this song acoustic but using barre chords. It's one of the few songs (other being STP - Creep) that my voice actually works really well for.

I was born in 93 and I fucking genuinely love 90's music. I really wish I could say I was 16 in the 90's. Fuck that'd be great. Truly some of the best music in my opinion.
Same Summer of '93 I was on my sailboat doing maintenance at the dock when their first hit "Found Out About You" came on the radio playing in the background. I hadn't really listened to anything played that day, until "the" song came on. Electrifying, it seemed the song was written specifically for whoever listened to it! I compared the experience with the first time I heard the Beatles in 1964; it was like a magic no words are available to explain (yep, I'm that old --- so will you be in time).
This is one of the rare songs where the lyrics are extensively deep in relation to the original sound. A few years back A-Ha stripped down 'take on me' to truly give the song a whole new meaning. The Gin Blossoms could do it with this one. A true testament to the emotional connection the late, great Doug Hopkins had to the songs lyrics vs the musical sound of GB. You can definitely understand that he lived these lyrics. It's too bad he wasn't able to see the final culmination of the Gin Blossoms longterm success, then again he might have not wanted to with the major label signing. As much as I love the all around talent of the Gin Blossoms the dropoff in terms of songwriting depth after NME was and is still evident to this day.
