Well, if you claim this to be the BenQ killer, why are you comparing it to a brand NOT BENQ? It seems like a great product, a great alternative to Quntis. But after comparing Xiaomi to Quntis for the entire video, I wasn't able to see how you came to the conclusion of "this is the BenQ killer". There are other videos on RUclips which did a fair and thorough comparison with BenQ and their final thoughts were at least a bit different than "BenQ is just soooo over priced and it is a rip off"

I don't get how this is a BenQ killer. The BenQ spills zero light on the monitor. This monitor spills a lot of it on the monitor, unless your turn it away, but then it almost hits your eyes.
You are one of the few people I've ever heard talk about "how our eyes work". I work in a fairly dark studio, and I've had a lamp behind my monitor for at least 15 years. Even at home, when I watch TV, for over 20 years I've had a lighting preset that illuminates the whole wall that the TV is on (Yes ,I've had smart lights for 20 years). At work, in the studio, I've been trying to focus the track lights over my head to only illuminate the desk, but not the put glare on the screen. I've had very little success. A light bar is the perfect solution, and Xiaomi might be the one for me. I just hope it fits on my super thick NEC monitor.
@@TheLP98 I have an NEC PA 271Q. It just barely fits. I wish I could post a picture here, but I'll try to describe the problem. the bezel isn't too thick, but about an inch down from the bezel on the back side, the case protrudes out another inch or so. The counterweight on the light touches that protrusion which causes the lamp to tilt forward and spill light onto the screen. For me, it's acceptable. A proper solution would be to break the counterweight off, and use strong 3M tape to attach the lamp in a semi-permanent way. The one thing no review mentions, is that the angel of the lamp can cause glare into your eyes. The light reflects off my metallic keyboard and into my eyes - it's not too bad, but not ideal either. A light bar is not a perfect solution, but better than the eyestrain caused by my black keyboard on my black desk in the dark. A light bar is also better than a bright lamp that would wash out my monitor.
thank you for your review. Just bought one last week. Amazing quality when having it on hand. Now just saving extra money to buy the Xiaomi 34 inch ultrawide monitor to ft with it.
I ended up getting a Micomlan Monitor Light Bar from Amazon. It comes with its own back facing LED's and they're BRIGHT. It's cheap at $29 . I've had it for nearly a year and its been working perfectly all this time.

I have been using this for 2 months now, and honestly really worth it! I was on the Xiaomi store and saw this one, I couldnt believe it was so cheap for its quality. It made such huge difference especially I work night shifts and I hate the big light lol. The only thing that bothered me is the pressure in my monitor from the light bar clamp since I have a thin bezel, I decided to put it on my second monitor. But how is it going for you? Is this a concerned at all?
would still prefer benq over this, the light profile of this shown in the video is symetric, causing light to spill onto the monitor, or angeled aggressively away that it'll be in your eye. calling it a benq killer is misleading. there's a reason why benq is much more expensive, more engineering and R&D was put into it.
What is the max Lumen rating on this Xiaomi light bar? They don’t say in their official specs probably to hide the fact that it’s really dim. All lighting has a Lumen rating!
I use this light bar with Xiaomi Mi 34'' monitor for a while now, and it's really decent, love it. I left it on most of the time. when you don't have a light bar you think you don't need it but as soon as you start using one you can turn it off, haha.
One thing about the condo developers, they did not forget to add lights, they built your unit (and the hundreds of others) to the absolute bare minimum code requirement. In Canada ceiling lighting only required in kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms (not closet!) and hallways. You are permitted to install a switched receptacle (plug) in living rooms & bedrooms & you are code compliant. Some developers opt to include a junction box in the middle of your bedroom so that you can choose to install your own ceiling lighting. Otherwise great video.
Thanks for the great review and especially the addition of bias light - been doing that bit for years and it always helps! I bought the XIAOMI Mi Computer Monitor Light bar and the light holder blocks the camera (when centered) on the Studio Display! It triggers anyone's OCD since the light sits about 1 inch to the right or left of the monitor!
I'm sorry to curb your enthusiasm: the magnetic connection design is flawed, a fact you'll only notice with time. I bought this product back in October 2020 and, after a year or so of use, the lamp started to frequently flick due to bad contact of the metal plates. I was usually able to fix it by moving the bar a bit, but the problem only got worse and now, after two years, it's almost impossible to use the lamp. I suspect this problem was caused by the metal cylindrical body of the lamp having its shape microscopically distorted due to weather variations so that now it won't fit perfectly with the monitor support, affecting the magnetic connection and the proper touching of metal contacts. I'm a big fan of Xiaomi in general, but in this case, the experience was very disappointing!

what do you recommend a monitor or a tv for a pc, many people use there tv's , my monitor just went, & seeing the price difference between a tv & monitor , felt should have bought a 32 in full hd tv.
it depends what you do on the PC. Do you play games like CSGO or some games which require a lot of focus, reaction time and consistent aim? Then a PC monitor is better, since they (usually) are faster reaction time and higher Hz. But if you play more games like skyrim or something like that, then a TV should be fine if you ask me!
Does anyone has some experience to use this monitor light bar as an ordinary office light for paper work - sorting, reading etc...? Is it recommended for this type of work too?
Will this light bar interfere with the built in webcam on my iMac? If so, I hope future light bar designs includes a cut out for monitors that have the built in webcam.
Can I use it when I have 38" Dell U3818DW? First possible issue is that it's curved, second possible issue is that top is like 3cm thick because it contains some vents and becomes thicker downwards (slope is not huge, maybe five degrees) and last issue is that screen has 1mm wide frame (then half centimeter or so is black, but it's only foil covering whole screen. so it has to clamp to the edge only.

What is the shell of the wireless remote made of? plastic or aluminum?
Well made plastic
It's hilarious how so many reviews about cheaper quality light bars can't avoid mentioning BenQ in the title or the description. 😂
Mine has been flawless for a couple years
Not launched in India! That's a bummer
What you recommend to ligth a room? strip leds? or? thanks,.
i recommend the back lamp behind the monitor i mentioned
I usually open the light in my room, don’t think is necessarily, unless you have a bad light in the room…
How long is the USB cable?
what do you recommend a monitor or a tv for a pc, many people use there tv's , my monitor just went, & seeing the price difference between a tv & monitor , felt should have bought a 32 in full hd tv.
it depends what you do on the PC. Do you play games like CSGO or some games which require a lot of focus, reaction time and consistent aim? Then a PC monitor is better, since they (usually) are faster reaction time and higher Hz. But if you play more games like skyrim or something like that, then a TV should be fine if you ask me!
Does this snap onto a laptop screen?
Does anyone has some experience to use this monitor light bar as an ordinary office light for paper work - sorting, reading etc...? Is it recommended for this type of work too?
it's even better
why just not keep the ceiling light of your room turned on?
Will this light bar interfere with the built in webcam on my iMac? If so, I hope future light bar designs includes a cut out for monitors that have the built in webcam.
i keep my webcam on the side, no issues, but for imac, im not sure, i dont think it will
I probably can not combine it with a webcam sitting on top of my screen, can I?
Can I use it when I have 38" Dell U3818DW? First possible issue is that it's curved, second possible issue is that top is like 3cm thick because it contains some vents and becomes thicker downwards (slope is not huge, maybe five degrees) and last issue is that screen has 1mm wide frame (then half centimeter or so is black, but it's only foil covering whole screen. so it has to clamp to the edge only.
