I love the way you two present your videos. So didacticly comprehensive, nice clean imagery, no disturbing camera shifts, no background distractions, crispy clear sound, highly pro flow planning together with precise edit timing, lighting gives a natural ambience feeling, and, besides the not always matter-of-fact genuine priority of guidance you two accomplish that without giving an impression of rehearsing for a drill at Actors' Studios. I'd love to see more on the S1h from you, particularly its performance with Anamorphic lenses. I gather you used a Ronin-S gimbal and I wonder which tripod head was used. Congrats!
Production and edit here is fantastic!!!! Brendan did a brilliant job!! Thank you Ev and Dave for another fantastic first look review! The S1H is the camera I've dreamt of and more. The major factors that make this sell for me are a few things you guys mentioned here and over at DPreview. First being theyve taken all that we love in the GH5 and GH5s and simply brought them together, in a full frame format, and have taken what the S1 does well, whilst enhancing it in every way!! I'm just so happy for this new flip out fully articulating touchscreen, the minor body changes they've added to make this perfect for video shooting. And of course, the image is just breathtaking, there are plenty of recording and compression options, continuous innovation now up to 6k internal, the slow motion absolutely blew me away!! I love that is used the full sensor size and has sound. I'm really excited and grateful to Panasonic

I def agree with ya they will most likely add raw in firmware 👍🏻, I also have a gh5 and I love it but, for run and gun on a gimbal doing weddings I like to use autofocus, & shooting wide open or close to it on 1.2 primes isn’t as reliable as I’d hoped esp in low light...I grabbed a couple FF Sony’s for that now and use gh5 for other things when I can M focus ...now that I’m in the Sony ecosystem as well I’ll have to decide whether it’s worth it to sell everything and go Panasonic or stay Sony with all my GM lenses I’ve collected....If the A7siii isn’t out by the time this drops and sigma releases their more affordable L mount lenses then I may have to make the switch and deal with the DFD AF
If I had a spare €8000 lying around this would definitely be the camera to get. It would be amazing if it had a mft adapter (crop mode) which has full autofocus speed.
The Panasonic Lumix S-Series Camera Professionals - S1H, S1, S1R Facebook Group has a good/high-level discussion going on about the S1H. If you are considering this camera I highly recommend joining.
That's overkill for school work. That's a $4k camera with $2k lenses. For school work you only need something like the Panasonic G7 with its kit lens and a mic, all for $600 on eBay.
That depends on what lens you used. Natively, this camera takes a different lens mount. (L-mount lenses) The GH5 is a micro four-thirds system with a smaller lens mount. But, Sigma is creating a Canon EF lens adapter just like the GH5 accepted, so if you were adapting Canon lenses on your GH5, you can still do that on the new S-series cameras.
