  • Timelapse - Painting an Iconic Beachscape. Join Mark Waller in his studio for this montage of timelapse footage of the painting of this iconic acrylic beachscape which includes Lennox Head's famous "The Point" headland.
Unfortunately we didn't get the footage right from the beginning, but we hope you enjoy this fast forward journey over several painting sessions with some cool tunes behind. It will hopefully give you an idea of just how much back and forth, push and pull, and layers there are in a commissioned beachscape painting like this one!

All I have to say Mark is WOW! So many layers of detail, you must have an enormous amount of patience! How long did it take you to finish? Do you frame all your work, and how much did this one go for? Do you ever break down your layer details to creates these masterpieces? Sorry so many questions. PamSimpsonArtStudio

Hi Pam. No, I'm actually very impatient. It's hard to say how many hours went into it all up because I work on several at a time generally. But if I had to guess I'd say around 20-30 hours. I rarely frame my paintings. This one went for about $1000 if I remember. Not sure what you mean about breaking down layer details? Do you mean do I film this process? Cheers and thanks for the support! Cheers Mark W.

Wow you blocked the trees did the sky and water then redid the trees. Its been 43 years and I draw then paint my drawing. It was a mistake not to do background first like you do but thats paintin and Im havin to learn.
