    Since following Mark's limited colour palette, I now feel I can mix the colour I need because I know these colours so well. I also have the recipe book, it is my cheat sheet to kick off my colours for my paintings and means I can always feel confident if I make mistakes and have to reconstruct my colours. Can't recommend buying that enough!!!! Thanks Mark 😍

    • @chriswhitehouse8982

      I think that is really key. I often get lost in color mixing and can never get the right color I want. I'm going to get Mark's 10 colors and stick with them (at least for a while) and go by his recipes too.

    Oh dear! I'm currently living in the Philippines. I'm restricted in leaving the house (all those over 65 and under 18) are not allowed out. I have house painting brushes, all basic colours ( no Forrest Green). I have pieces of ply to paint on. Hope I can paint the days away until I can get back to Aust. I tried using acrylic house paint but not the best!

    Hi Mark. Why not mix your own green?

    • @ExploreAcrylics
      @ExploreAcrylics  2 года назад +1

      Great question Alicia. Forest Green is such a versatile colour straight out of the tube. It's just a great timesaver. I can warm it up, cool it down, add warm yellow to create awesome backlit leaf effects, cool yellows for high lit areas; add purple to create fantastic foliage shadows just for some examples. I do mix my own greens of course, depending on the image I'm painting, but this particular green is just so versatile, I can't not use it :D

    Just tried the Atelier Artists Acrylic paints. Having trouble with the first layer lifting off when applying the next layer even though the first layer is touch dry. Anyone have any suggestions on this?

    • @ExploreAcrylics
      @ExploreAcrylics  3 года назад +1

      Hi Chris, make sure you're letting it dry longer - in the sun if possible. You can also try mixing a thin coat of Universal Medium in with the paint (or painting it in between your layers when they are fully dry. Universal Medium is a "fast" medium - meaning it will dry and "lock" the layer underneath down). Hope that helps!
