MAGIC, as always!!! Never mind that you yourself are easy on the eyes...your paintings are devastatingly beautiful! Your teaching skills are incredible, and your willingness to share your profound talent and your time with those of us just beginning on a painting journey is so appreciated.
I enjoyed this tremendously! Yellow is my favorite color and this painting is very relaxing..Listening to your pretty voice was a bonus! I definitely will keep doing my landscapes ..thank u for your insights!
I have decided to become an artits when i "grow up" (I'm 60 next week). I have been watching quite a few landscape videos, and let me say you did a great job explaining these techniques, I cant wait to have a go at this, Maybe it's your "fair dinkim Aussie accent". any way thanks a lot Cheers Steve, (fellow aussie in Dromana, Vic.)
Hi Mark, Loren here, I am a Realistic Colored Pencil Artist living in Melbourne, who has been playing with watercolor painting for the last 12 months. I recently found a bought some gouache and acrylic gouache. I LOOOOOVE your work and would like to do some of your tutorials, and video clips here on youtube. As I love to blend my colors I wanted to know if I can do especially your amazing water, ocean, waves, landscapes with acrylic gouache????
QUESTION ABOUT ATELIER PAINTS: MARK I got some of the paints you use for Christmas and they are absolutely beautiful!! My question is when I go to paint over such as a highlight or shadow it continuously picks up or reconstituted the paint underneath. How do you avoid this in your seascapes or skies or even rocks? I would appreciate any help. There is just no comparison with these and regular or even golden open when they dry. They are rich and dont look plasticky but have a soft glow or sheen. No wonder you use them!!
Hi Jackie, great question. The fact that it does "open" actually is one of it's greatest strengths. However it can also be very frustrating. You need to wait for the paint to dry properly and then isolate the dry layers you are happy with by using a layer of Impasto Gel (Heavy Gel) or Universal Medium (effectively "locks" down the layers). You can even add Universal Medium to your paint as you go if you like. Hope that helps and continue to enjoy throwing that paint around! Cheers, Mark W :)
@@jackiegarroutte8970 it really depends on a number of things. How dry and hot it is for starters! Usually at least a few hours, up to 24 hours if you want to be sure.
