Thank you so much for your generosity You have become a real teacher for me And now, during the war, I am hiding behind the easel And your lessons help me to save myself Thank you!
Absolutely brilliant. You are a legend! This is the best demonstration on this subject I’ve ever seen. Makes so much sense. Every aspect, amazing. Thank you 👏
Watching you paint is so mesmerizing! Plus this particular painting looks so very much like the waves and beach in southern New Jersey USA. My beach! Thanks for sharing.
I have watched a few of your tutorials. I am playing with oils at the moment and have found that if i leave time between elements of the painting your tips and method works for me. ..I tend to work quite closely to any tutorials and then use what i have learnt and let my own tendencies come out in subsequent work. I think in this instance i haven't got the angle correct so that the area behind the wave feels more like it wants to be sky. I think for me it would work....I think my viewing point is lower. I really enjoy watching you paint and listening to what you say. I'm in the UK. We are on lockdown again. Painting is a really constructive hobby for me. Your tutorials are keeping me sane on my days off. Many thanks , you are a great help.
Love your work and your channel. Not many artists go into as much detail about their techniques or thought patterns for their viewers who genuinely want to learn and improve their craft. Your work is easy to follow and the end result is amazing. You're a great teacher! ❤
This was the most detailed tutorial I've seen - thank you so much! I am new to painting and was really intimidated at first, but your tutorials give me hope! I will be trying this out :)
Regardless of the number or the size of a brush, you wield it like a MAGIC WAND!! Truly poetry in motion to watch you create such beauty. Your style of teaching is incredible, interesting, and exciting. No adequate words to truly thank you for sharing your gift! But I thank you anyway.
Mark, I just found you and subscribed and look forward to learning from you. You have a great teaching style and it is so helpful to see you mixing the colors. You have a real understanding of the flow and reflections of the water and I really want to learn that. I will see about your resources also, I’d love to learn these techniques so I can paint from my photos of water and waves in Southern California and Hawaii. I’m a real fan. Rich Banks-California
Spectacular!!!!!! , you are the best on RUclips painting the sea, I love the techniques you use, they are not complicated and you make it possible for us to want to paint the sea and our pictures to be better, you just have to practice them, I never dared to paint the sea, waves, but now thanks to your videos my fear has gone away. Thanks for sharing, Greetings from Spain. You are a great artist.
Absolutely brilliant two part tutorial!!! Thank you for the time and attention to detail also the clear instructions. Just wish mine could be a fraction like yours but my motto is never give up. It's like watching a magic show the way you paint. Cheers from cut off Western Australia can't wait till we are open again I really want to visit your studio. Marie
Great work. When I tried making a gradation, the different colours weren't blending in the middle. Am I not using enough water/paint? Also I noticed a lot of your tutorials are coastal scenes, any tips for deep open ocean scenery?
Could be - you definitely need enough paint on your brush in order to blend colours together. Deep ocean scenery, hmmm. My main tip when painting water is to look at it like windows and mirrors. The mirror parts reflect the surroundings (they sky for example) depending on the angle to your eye, and the window parts are the water colour parts that you can see into. It's basically standing things up and lying things down. Here's a clip you might like to have a look at: ruclips.net/video/9m51al0EcD4/видео.html

Thank you very much Marc,
Can i do this using oil painting? I think i must have to wait so many times during to do painting
Yes, absolutely, the drying times will be different however.
