- Instructions:
Pick Garrus and choose armor/skin that gives boost for weapon damage.
Level him up and pick every skill that gives boost for assault rifles.
Then give him N7 Typhoon LMG and slap an extended barrel (for extra DMG) and a Magazine upgrade (for maximum amount of DAKKA) to that bitch. Remember to upgrade the weapon itself on Normandy!
Finally, just apply AP rounds on his gun and let him ascend past the gates of Valhalla and take his place among the kings of Asgard.
Note: You'll need the Groundside Resistance Pack DLC to acquire the N7 Typhoon in singleplayer.

I always thought that was just the Shadow Broker thinking apathetically and far too analytically; he didn't understand there weren't any competitions on the Normandy. It was a group of friends, each highly skilled and talented in their own way, working together to save the galaxy from immense dangers. Garrus became a neigh unstoppable soldier, leader, and tactical advisor BECAUSE of Shepard's leadership and the hardships they faced. I'd say he developed his skills quite fully.

Wasn't that specifically talking about Garrus' leadership skills? He's probably right. Under Shepard, Garrus doesn't develop fully as a leader. He just turned that leadership potential into another Assault Rifle Damage +50%.

@@coletalbot4007 in the game if you max the ship upgrades (or in this case specifically the cannon) then when you invade the collector base it two shots the collector ship that destroys the first Normandy at the beginning of the game. Garrus will spend the game calibrating the gun as his default dialogue (when you try to talk to again him after hearing new dialogue, he will say he needs to get back to calibrating). The meme in the community is that he just doesn't want to talk, but the joke here is he was being completely serious with the calibrating and the gun was his magnus opus.

I tried this in the Remaster with the difficulty on Veteran; for a challenge but not too hard. Garrus killed the Atlas at the Tuchanka Bomb Site so fast the game glitched and didn't even show the explosion animation.
Garrus literally broke the game he's in with this build.

You can leave the game on Insanity for the entirety of the remaster. You won't die much if at all, unless you are reckless.
Just beat ME3 without Garrus as Infiltrator, fairly easy when you can take out most enemies with a couple of shots.
For added fun run James as a secondary backup with the same setup, all bonuses in weapon damage where you can with Incendiary ammo. Hilarious room clearing

This is correct in-universe. Garrus' team died not through any action he himself took, but simply because he was betrayed and not around to help the rest of them. In virtually every instance before and after the betrayal, he's an extremely capable fighter who was (justly) promoted to a leadership role by the Turians.

I'm more for using the SMG + incendiary ammo and then charging at it one or two times. That 175 damage bonus every other shot + tech burst is much more enjoyable to me.

Just tried this. There's that part during the Tuchanka mission where all of the brutes drop down as a way for the game to make you progress to the maw hammers, but Garrus actually just killed them all. He melted them as soon as they dropped lmao this build is ridiculous.
I played on normal and didn't have to fight those brutes. Ran past them, dodged reaper's claws, activated both hammers.

It is a matter of politics. Garrus says he's not a good Turrian, and the Turrians themselves are very order loving people. They were still trying to live down embarrassment of Saren going rogue, they wouldn't put a loose cannon like Garrus. He left military for C-sec, left C-sec to follow a human, then worked a vigilante, then worked for Cerberus. He's got enough red flags for a May day parade. The fact he'd be great as a Spectre makes it worse.
Guides: You need to be very cautious and strategic while playing on Insanity.

Even though I haven't done this build for Garrus, I usually just plough through Insanity without worrying too much about strategy at all.

I'm pretty certain if you installed certain mods, Garrus would kill the enemies behind their hiding spots. Maybe also obliterate said hiding spots.

How do you get past the AI sucking so bad? When he decides to attack, it works great, most of the time the squad just hangs out in cover or dies, specially when enemies show up a little far. The AI for the squadmates was so good on ME:2.
@@Oakshield2 The AI does suck, but that's why you have buttons to move them. Literally all you have to do is put Garrus between yourself and the enemies and he'll do the rest.
No wonder the official guides for Both ME 2 and 3 always recommend having Garrus ALWAYS in your party if you run insanity

Jackofspades Garrus has by far the best character arc in the trilogy. I barely gave him two thoughts in ME 1, by 3 we were inseparable.

I always rocked with Garrus and Wrex in ME1. Barely took anyone else unless I absolutely had to for story purposes. Just the three of us fighting through the same copy-paste mines and bases for half the game, but it was still damn fun.

Because there is no greater satisfaction...then watching all the supposedly superior Reaper and Cerberus forces be deleted in such rapid succession they might as well be targets at a carnival shooting game.

This reminds me of good ol' days in ME1 when I would give Garrus a spectre sniper rifle with high explosive rounds
He would only shoot 3-4 times a minute, but the satisfaction of seeing a korgan warlord charging at you only to suddenly burst in flames and fly away is unmatched
Me too. I think it was around Feros I truly began appreciating him. I was really bad at sniping. I was trying to shoot those jumping geth or something from a distance, and failing spectacularly. Next think I knew, they dropped one by one. Thats one of the reasons he came with me on nearly every single ME1 mission. I depended on him, and trusted him to get enemies out of my range. Just like Shepard, I always trusted him to have my back.

@@yoga5631 nah, they would do it if they wanted to. Cause in ME2 LE, they capped the amount of credits you get from importing an ME1 save to only 100k. In the original version, you were able to gain 10% of the amount of credits you had in your ME1 file. So in ME1, if you had maxed credits, you could have around 9 million credits at the start of ME2.
@@yoga5631 They nerfed Immunity pretty heavily in ME1. I understand why, so the AI wouldn't be able to abuse it, but it made playing Solider Shepard as an invincible tank a lot harder.

The N7 Typhoon is expensive now, was their band-aid. But I mean even think of Mars and how fucking insanely powerful Liara is against Cerberus without shields, all this stuff was already in the game (OP everything.)

Shepard is still War. Hackett isn't a Horseman, though - he is an Avatar of Sin. Specifically, he is Wrath, as it is he who directs the fury of the galaxy against the Reapers. Anderson is the Avatar of Pride. He's proud that Shepard takes command of the Normandy, becomes the first human Spectre (which actually would have originally been Anderson if Saren hadn't screwed around) and generally does everything that Anderson couldn't (or wasn't allowed to) do himself.
