The number of people that don't have any idea when their last oil change was performed or can't even read a dipstick is just mindblowing. In today's age, people just aren't taught the basics of car maintenance yet they demand so much from their vehicles. It's a miracle that engine didn't get destroyed being down almost 3 quarts. 🤷

Why i installed an oil catch can on our 2.0l na 2020 tucson 70k burns zero oil and oil changed every diy 4k. Most people who own these car dont know anything about an gdi engine and how to care for one so.
Probably low oil was allowing the timing chain tensioner to lossen while driving throwing the timing off. I honestly think most engine issues are more neglect than manufacturing issues, unless there is a obvious recall.
Seems wise. Especially since they're not dropping the car off with a running engine. You start it and "you broke it". Well, good thing he videos everything.
1997 I bought a 1987 Oldsmobile cutlas supreme t-tops 307. The oil was so dirty I had to change it 2 times within a month. The inside of the car was super dirty also. My buddy had a detail Shop and helped me detail the car.
Tell her bring it to your local Hyundai dealer and have them run an oil consumption test. If she’s under 100k miles they’ll replace her engine and give her a rental for the time being. They’ll send her home in a 2024 Elantra
Any person you come across with little or no oil. YOU NEED TO PUT THE FEAR OF GOD INTO THEM!!! Some people cant grasp the seriousness of oil changes and lack of oil.
im a oil change manager and the people that don't understand to check their oil every month is wow, ive dealed with a lot of people who bring in the cars that they think they only need to change their oil once ever
Man I’m not gonna lie watching this made me zone out a bit and just relax I been in hella pain these past few days fucked up my tailbone on a big ass rock working under my buddys car😂 appreciate it man actually good ass real ass video and your energy is amazing you seem so friendly and confident with yourself it’s actually really nice tbh 👍
This happened to my sisters first car. She always got oil changes at the dealership, before 100k miles it magically had no oil and without knowing she drove it until it needed a new engine.... this happen after she got an oil change. Always check your oil levels because the dealership might forget to put it in or not tighten something and it leaks out.
another great video! great content! you should increase the audio level in your videos, too low. if i set volume to hear you it blasts on ads and program breaks.
licence costs a fortune in germany these days but at least they teach you a good chunk of that stuff.. plus you get quizzed on it later on during your actual test.
Ive noticed with my hyundai elantra that when the oil is low or needs to be changed the CEL illuminates instead of the oil light. and yes, they sit low asf..
Hey do you have any videos on VW TDI engines? I really like the idea of the Golf or New Beetle in TDI with a Manual and want to pick one up used. Ig no videos, do you have any experience or thoughts on them? Ty for your channel I like how humble and nice you are to people. That is golden nowadays. Be well.
Here’s your sign. Cars run oil! That’s what the yellow handle is for. Mind boggling you know he wants to just slap people sometimes lol he probably does with his mind
I do 6k/3mo oil changes non turbos & 5k/3mo on turbos & I never have had to add oil to any of my last 4 vechiles. I check the oil about 4 times a month at the minimum.
Those Hyundai/Kia engines are known to burn oil. My Sonata burned about 4 qt every 1k miles, that was with regular maintenance, it started off burning 1 qt every 1k miles and Hyundai said it was "Normal". When it got worse and went into limp mode, all Hyundai did was reset the ECU and send me on my way.
Idk about you. But my dad taught me how to change oil. Not sure what the government has to do with learning how to do an oil change. You rely on them too much..
@@travischristmann7924some people just don’t want to be responsible for their own actions. It’s sad that they don’t care enough about their transportation to understand the most basic things. There is no doubt in my mind that internal damage is done but since it’s running now it’s important to remember to check it often and change it often.
On that make is vehicle the variable valve timing won't work properly when the oil is low. That result is the engine will run like crap and with terrible power. If it goes low enough that roughness cause enough knock that the engine won't rev power about 3K.
These kias and hyundais always come in with no oil in them theres gotta be an issue with them i heard kia has a recall but will only replace your engine if you check the oil everytime you get gas

Step one before starting a bad running engine. Check the oil
Depending on manufacturer they could recommend checking level with oil warm
Yeah but its good to check and see if there is even any oil in the engine to GET warm😅 @Deadops420
Shout out to the people that actually listened to the conversation and understood the scenario here.
That Hyundai isn't long for this world. That engine is going to lock up soon.
If she ran it like that for too long that's a real option, yeah... 😖
Glad you helped her out but it scares me that there are people driving cars that have no clue about maintenance!
People are told they have unsafe worn tires, and need new tires and they drive off.
It's funny, but not funny..How many people think that when they get their oil changed, they don't need to check it atleast a few times, between oil changes..
The Jiffy Lube sticker should've been a dead giveaway

Truth: I don’t mean to be a jerk, but some people aren’t smart enough to own a car.
After driving a truck for a year every car i get in feels like a go kart😂
I’d make it a habit of checking oil before starting up a customers car to diag

How do you not even charge her for the oil at the very least?
Bro I literally just put 3 1/2 quarts in my niece's Lexus to read full 😂😂 245k smooth as silk with oil in it
You need to explain to them that modern cars are chronic oil burners and that they need to check and add oil even between oil changes.

This is why electric cars will eventually be everywhere. People just dont get it that an engine needs good clean oil and in the right amount.

Hyundai and kias are notorious for burning oil, every car check your oil and coolant weekly. It takes not even 1 minute!
It should be a law that b4 you get a drivers license, you should do a basic automotive maintenance class. Period.
100% agreed.
Honestly I don’t get why they don’t teach that

How much is that going to cost? If folks can’t afford $50 - $100 for an oil change are they going to be able to afford a class?
Dude you are an awesome person with an awesome personality. Would love to just talk your head off about trucks but I digress

How can you drive a Hyundai and not check the oil. They all start to drink the oil before their death.
So where did the oil go exactly? you did not check if there was a leak or was it burning oil?
Do not change to synthetic oil. Just change every month then it will 3000. Change perfect
I think all mechanics should first check battery cables and the oil before anything else
