- I think the video speaks for itself... we were absolutely shocked. Taylor Swift was brought on stage for a surprise acoustic set between Act I & II of The 1975's concert at The O2 Arena, London - performing the live debut of Anti-Hero, and a cover of the band's song The City.

@@MisterL777 You're correct. It's not a matter of changing the chords with the right strum pattern. She controls the dynamic of that wooden box incredibly well, perfect paired with her voice.
It's how she started out so it's her most comfortable way of performing. It's basically second nature, plus she can control the pacing and volume and everything. I personally don't perform to the level of Taylor ... obviously, but I have to say the "stripped down" performances are so much more genuine and comfortable for me, versus performing with a prerecorded track.

I came here just for this comment! I have veeeery strong feelings this was the beginning and the breakup with Joe was kept hidden for longer than we think. Nothing else really explains the randomness of this performance. I know it's not what should be focused on, but I am curious if Joe and her were together for the release of Midnights. its hard to imagine putting out Sweet Nothing and being broken up, so I'm thinking it had to be that November or December.
