This is just unbelievable. We've seen plenty of pianists and violinists of this age play similarly well on their instruments but I would not have believed it possible on such a physically demanding instrument as the classical guitar. The subtle musical control is astonishing as well as the marvelous technique.

Miu Miu Guitar Girl. Another Chinese child prodigy on the guitar and she also can sing.
The piece is difficult and at many moments we can actually hear she struggles with it, it's still a big achievement for her age but this performance shows the piece is probably just too difficult for her age, but I guess in a couple of years that won't be a problem any longer.

For a child to memorize this piece is impressive, but to play it with that level of sophistication is something well beyond. Beautifully done... :)
Ppl like me dont really memorize the piece, they just learn how to play by playing through it over and over again and meanwhile they develop muscle memory. It becomes very natural
@@Zyxusum As a musician, I know what you mean. Some people memorize the written notes in sequence, where others 'remember the feeling' of playing the music. Both are forms of memorization, one is more technical, the other is more intuitive... :)

This is unbelievable!! It's not just the technical precision of execution, but her sensitivity and tonality is unsurpassed by pretty much any other performer-at any age!!!! Bravo! I felt like standing up at the end!

This is some of the cleanest and most precise playing I’ve heard in years.
Sensitive, brilliant, mature playing that would seem to be years ahead of her age. Watching the serenity and concentration on her face shows a level of awareness of the piece usually seen in only the greatest masters of their arts.
This little girl plays like an adult ! And mentally understands the passion it takes to put it together ! Holy smokies just think where she'll be in 10 years .

This is quite amazing for Cynthia play a classical piece on a classical guitar. The strings are softer to the fingers but have a wider separation than electric guitars--makes it a challenge playing with smaller hands at age 8. Well done, Xinyan.

It looks like a flamenco type guitar. They have a very low action so they are light to touch but buzz a lot when played aggressively. It is a compromise to get the lightness

Amazing talent. It is hard to make kid at that age get interested in this kind of music, especially if she lives in America with pop culture dominating. She must have a very special parents and teacher.
@@goshu7009 No, you can't say "What? LOL?", because you people living in Asia have conservatively adopted western music of the past, with a lot less exposure of various modern pop cultures. Europe is different, it is their tradition to pass on the culture from one generation to the next. They are very dedicated in preserving it. You shouldn't say the west is behind in culture and civilization, because that's an arrogantly ignorant statement. The west is not behind, it is just more diverse. There are more diversities in musical development in the west than in the east. Kids in the west, are more exposed to modern electronic music, therefore, as I said, it is more difficult to get them interested in period/classical music. Their tastes are different. My comment is related to the girl performing at Siccas media, I assume in the US. If so, she would have been a local and exposed to the condition I mentioned. While your reaction is more related to Asian kids in Asia, or probably in just your country.

@@goshu7009 , I had classical guitar and piano lessons as a kid and when I got about 16 years old I got more interested in jazz, which i studied at the conservatory.
I do not feel it made me any smarter or more organised then people who did not study music at all. Often the opposite is true.
It is nice if you can make music at such level being a kid, and it is pretty demanding at times, but it does not say anything about how you will do later in life.
Many of those young talented kids playing at such level quit making music when they get into there puberty. And they can be just as disorganised and dumb as other people sometimes are.

I confirm my words - Classical Music Harmonize you, your body, your brain and makes you more stable person, more organized as individual and its more discipline then being a Soldier.
I guess our system is completly different from yours.
When i was 10 years - We already knew the Intervals, including 50% of the things from Solfej.
At 14 years old we started to Harmonia and Composing music for beginners.
What you say is wrong. If Music makes you like you explain, that means you your teachers or your schools just suxs.
@@goshu7009, I knew all the intervals already when I was about 9 years old, and could hear all of them (solfège) about 11.
But this does not mean anything, it's just a learning thing. And, if you are interested enough, will be fairly easy to do at a young age.
I did not say classical music does not harmonize your body and brain; It does to me!
But that does not mean persé that studying/playing classical music as as a young kid, having all the talent etc.., will definitely help you later in life.
It could, but this depends loooot's of other factors.
There are a lot of people, not playing music at all, that are very organised, intelligent and in harmony with life itself. And there are also very good (classical) musicians that are not happy at all, suffering from anxiety etc...
But to be clear, I also believe good classical music education at a young age is a good thing.
But it is not guaranteed this will help you later on in life.

The only thing left now to improve her playing is heartbreak, unrequited love, the birth of, and eventual fighting with, her own teenage child, and the full spectrum of life experience. She's got the instrument down already, and I just look forward to all that she expresses through it over the coming years.
